posted a message on Lucid Dreams
My own method of making myself fall asleep is remarkably similar to the OP's method of inducing a lucid dream (Counting, yay!), and I've never had a real lucid dream like everyone's said. In most of my dreams I can feel in the back of my mind that I'm dreaming, and I sort of just go with it. I never really have nightmares, so it turns out pretty well. Although there have been times when I had a conversation with someone or went to school or participated in some forum discussion in a dream and was all confused when I woke up and none of it actually happened.

    OOC

    MC username: Cswartz9

    Age: 15, but mature.

    Country: America, EST time

Roleplaying Experience: Several years forum-based, a year or two in Minecraft.

We are not going to ask if you read the lore/rules, but you risk ban if you don’t.
Give an example of Meta-gaming: "I'm only a miner, but here's how you brew that complex potion!"
Give an example of Power-gaming: *In a flash, Joe cuts off the heads of everyone around him, despite never having trained with a sword in his life*

What specifically do you like about this server compared to other RP servers? The unique races, and the fact that its grand opening is today.

Do you have any questions? Not at the moment, although if you could point me to some lore for all the races it would be nice.

IC (the more detail, the better)
    Character Name: Antrum Grotte

    Age: 249 Years

    Gender: Male

    Race: Nocht

    Class: Balanced

    Profession(s): Enchanter

Physical Description: Antrum is tall, thin and extremely pale, with hard features and eyes that are a combination of milky gray and crimson red. He himself is relatively well-kept, having been relatively important in his home society, with medium-length grayish-white hair. His eyes seem to focus on a dozen things at any given time, and he instinctively shies away from bright objects.

Attire (clothing): The traditional white and red robes of his people, Under these robes he hides a small array of weaponry, mostly knives and a bowstaff with sharp iron tips.

Personality: Antrum is cunning and manipulative, and though not evil in its traditional sense, he has no true sense of morals. He will generally do whatever gets him to the next day with food in his stomach and a dark place to rest. He is cynical and untrusting, and occasionally untrustworthy as well. However, if you manage to coax him onto your side he will prove a fierce ally; that is, until someone convinces him to join your enemy's.

Backstory: Antrum lived in a small, secluded society of Nocht for close to two hundred years, slowly rising through the ranks of their culture until he attained the position of enchanter, one of the highest honors bestowable unto his culture. In this position he gained great intelligence and prowess, combining the basic tools and weapons his co-workers created into tools of great power, enchanting swords with the powers of fire and ice and earth, and combining small trinkets into things of wonder, small necklaces and gems that could resurrect a man or make him immune to attackers.

All of this ended when a group of arrogant adventurers wandered into thier cave system and caused a collapse, destroying what his friends and family had called home and forcing them out into the blazing, deathly heat and light of the sun for the first time in centuries. Dozens died in the first week, slain by animals or blinded by the sun. Eventually the small group of survivors began a journey to Avitus, in search of a new life.

Aspiration: (What is your character’s goal, their cause, their purpose in this new start?) To find a new place to call home, and to restore his ancestors' traditions.

Find a random word generator, and generate two words. Preferably, at least one should be an adjective. Then combine them, possibly mix in something personal.

    Examples:

Captain Sparkles (Captainsparklez), Ant Venom (Antvenom), Seth Bling (Sethbling), Chimney Swift (Chimneyswift). Need I go on?

    Definitions

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplaying is, essentially, 'taking on a role' of another person, usually fictional and in a fantasy setting.
In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming is using knowledge that would not be available in-character to help advance your own goals. An example would be a warrior knowing how to brew potions, or a mage suddenly being an expert at swordplay.
In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power-emoting (Or powergaming, as I call it) is using powers that your character would not have, without giving other players the ability to respond. An example would be "Joe suddenly pulls out a knife and stabs everyone in the room to death in the blink of an eye!"

    In-Character Details

    Character Name: Markus Etherus
    Character Race: Human
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Markus is relatively tall for his race, standing at about six foot one, and thin. He has dark brown hair and eyes and relatively pale skin, common for his people. He generally dresses in a strange sort of combination of armor and nobles' clothes, sometimes with a layer of heavier armor or simply normal clothing.

Markus is intelligent and quick-witted, but relatively stubborn and at times arrogant; he's sharp as a tack, but very vocal in his opinion and a bit stubborn at times. He is brave to some extent, although not to a fault, and relatively charismatic, although he prefers leaving the roles that would require either to professional soldiers or noblemen. In short, Markus is good to have on your side, but bad to have on your side after you lose. He has a relatively loose set of morals that he goes by, generally trying to stay on the more honorable side of the fight, but gets hot-headed quickly.

Markus was born in a large-ish city on the outskirts of human-owned Asulon, a somewhat bustling city full of nobles and merchants. His father was a retired shopkeeper, having grown rich through trading of gold, silver and other rare gems and metals. His mother had died in childbirth, not an entirely uncommon fate, even for the rich. Regardless, it was fully expected that Markus would become a scholar of some sort, or perhaps simply live off of his father's fortune until the end of his days.

However, he soon found himself looking for more in life; there had to be more to existence than simply sitting around a classroom and learning to become an author or a professor or a historian. He found himself taking risks, learning swordplay with an ornate rapier designed for display simply so that he could say he had done something immediately productive. He longed for the day he could leave the boring old city and travel, writing stories of his adventures and fighting bandit hordes and changing the world for the better.

However, the town being full of rich merchants, it wasn't exactly a widely-held viewpoint. And so, on his twentieth birthday Markus snuck out of his house in the middle of the night, never looking back or doubting his decision... That is, until he ran out of food the next day.

Gradually, though, he managed to adjust to a more adventurous lifestyle, never settling down in any one town for too long, always writing of his travels and trying to make a difference everywhere he passed through. And this is where his written story ends, and his true one begins.

What are your characters ambitions?: To be remembered as more than just a small smudge on mankind, and to forge some sort of legacy of himself for future generations.
Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here:
Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: Not really.

    Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?
"Silverware, weapons, cutlery, clothing for sale! Anything you want, I've got it!"

I walk up to the man's stall, examining the various piles of miscellaneous items strewn about it. Finally, noticing a nicely-carved piece of chain armor jutting out, disused-looking, from the bottom of a pile, I pull it out of the mess.

"How much for this?" I ask, idly casting a glance at a further-down stall, where a fat woman is selling poorly-crafted jewelry to any takers.

"Ah, so you're a fan of lighter armor, then?" The dwarf examines the piece, then makes an offer. "Ten gold coins, and it's yours."

"Fine." I pull out a small purse of coin and offer it to the man, who counts out ten pieces and then returns it to me, along with the armor.

"Thank you," the dwarf calls as I walk off towards the next few rows of stalls. "Come again! Or don't, or whatever. Just remember, no refunds!"

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me," I say softly to myself, drawing a thin sort of scimitar I've grown fond of and creeping through underbrush on the side of the road, gradually coming up from behind the Orc until I'm within close earshot.

"Okay, buddy! All your money, weapons, food, armor, on the ground! One false move and your head is gone!" the orc stands poised over the dwarf, a greatsword poised at the man's neck. The dwarf does as instructed, until all his items sit on the small amount of dirt between the two men.

"Thanks, buddy. See, the issue is, I can't be having any witnesses. So I'm afraid you're just going to have to - ugh!" As the conversation progressed I had been steadily creeping up on the man and now hold my scimitar to his jugular, using the momentum from his surprised stumble to pull him away from the dwarf, who quickly gathers up his things and runs off into the trees.

Eventually the orc breaks free and turns to face me, eyes practically ablaze with fury. He dropped his sword during the attack and draws two large daggers, then charges. As he does, I feign right and then swing my sword at his ankle, ducking under the knives as he topples into the dust.

from there, I stab him in the knees, throw his weapons into the underbrush and walk off on my way. He should be rescued soon enough, so long as he doesn't bleed out before then.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:

I gather up the fallen gold and put it back into the pouch, giving it to the man, before helping him to his feet. The man gratefully clutches his coins and begins to hobble off, still wary that it could be some sort of trick.

Halfway down the road the man opens up his coin purse and begins to count out the gold still left inside, and I chuckle as I walk off in the other direction. Satisfied that he hasn't been robbed, the man gathers walks off once more.
