You have to remember that this mod is still in it early alpha and that both the site and the Wiki are quiet new and still get updated a lot...But most of the ores work that same... You smelt them the same and u shape them the same... Just do some research on other ores and try to implement to to that specific ore.

Also while i play i preffer to explore have a look at the new biomes, get saplings for diffrent types of trees and just have a look around... Another idea would be chaning the biome your in and the rock type your mining in or using a prospecters pick to point you in a direction you should mine.

A bit late of a reply, apologies for not getting back to you sooner.

I started in a hilly region that was half taiga, but I had both a swamp and a jungle nearby. I had nearly a full inventory of different tree types, but I'd only found gypsum. Even with gypsum I had to go through the swamp and jungle to find it. I mined in six different types of stone. I didn't use a prospectors pick, however, because it seemed a little out of place. If it intended to be 'true' survival, a magical pick that sniffs out ore doesn't quite fit with the feel of it.

With the ore itself, I tried everything that was suggested for the other ores; I tried the firepit, I tried the forge, I tried adding bellows, I tried different heights...nada. I'd gone through the wiki twice over trying to figure out what I was doing wrong and came up with nothing.

As I said, I'm keeping an eye on the mod. For now, it's just not polished enough for me to stop using everything else I use.

The new blocks don't do anything, they are decoration blocks exept for the Redstone Block which is a good way to store redstone like Iron, Gold and Diamond.

I see. It would be nice if they had a secondary function (iron wood strengthens the blocks, shiny brick gives off low light, redstone blocks are stronger replacements for redstone torches, OP-sidian hurts enemies and player unless they're wearing boots, etc). As it is there's already plenty of redstone blocks, and aside from the iron wood there's not much of a difference in appearance for the new blocks, nor much reason to use that much obsidian and a bucket of lava to make a slightly different looking obsidian. Also, the crafting section seems incomplete; it's got what appears to be condensed planks and condensed cobble, but no iron wood.

    Just some suggestions/thoughts :3

    posted a message on [1.2.5] Town Builder [v1.1] (5/28/12)
This has been a lifesaver for Minecolony; I was able to quickly block out the grid for the town and place the chests for each building in such a way that they lined up with each other. I'm eager to test out the rest of the features, but purely as a quick way to build a grid it's incredibly useful. Hopefully I'll get some screenshots in for you soon.

    EDIT:

That last picture was a test; you can use Town Builder with Little Blocks. I could see that being useful for making little chimneys on houses, or really intricate fountains. The fountains I made used the negative and positive pyramids; aside from the bonemeal, everything you see was done with this mod. Took a little over an hour to do once I actually sat down to do it :P

A brief description of what the new blocks do would be nice; looks promising, though.

I really want to get into this, I do.

But it seems as though the mod is doing everything in its power to stop me.

I ended up opening up the wiki to check out how to build a forge, firepit, etc, and while it certainly extends Minecraft and gives a ton of really impressive improvements...it's so linear. Frightfully so. The only mineral/ore I've found is gypsum, and the wiki literally says nothing about it. I prefer being able to read about things over watching episode after episode of videos, only to find that it doesn't cover what I'm looking for.

It simply seems to fall down to how quickly you can do exactly what the mod wants you to do, but frankly, a more 'realistic' survival mode would have had you use the resources around you to your best ability and then only expand out when necessary. It's bothersome that after several hours of playing, I only have the most basic grasp on what to do and I still have yet to build a shelter due to not really seeing much advancement in my tools.

I'll keep an eye on it; but until there's an actual index of what everything does and how to use it, as well as a slightly more open way of advancement, I think I'll stick with my cache of mods.

I take back what i said about the iron being over powered. I didn't know the normal bow was only 3 hits.

How do I get that texture you posted crowvo?

Save the image, and put the image in your minecraft.jar's mods folder (and change the name to items.png so it overwrites the one in there). Note that if you just drag it into minecraft.jar, you will overwrite the items.png that has all the other sprites, so make sure you put it in the mods folder that is in minecraft.jar.

And since it's an x32, I think you'll need optifine or MCpatcher to use it.

Wow they look amazing. I'm currently at school still once I get home I'll check them out. Is it x16 or x32?

x32; I might work on an x16 version later tonight.

This happens when you don't put my mod files inside the .jar Both mine and the extended workbench files. For the extended workbench install it says you only need to put his mod in the Mods folder, but I don't know why you can't just do that for my mod.

So, Just simply add both my mod files and extended workbench files inside the .jar

    Hope that works :S

That worked! Silly me somehow missed that; I guess in my frenzy to actually get it to fit in without running out of sprites or having any conflicts I didn't try that. Thanks!

Definitely a great mod, btw; probably one of the few that has really polished, nice looking sprites and is properly balanced for what it does right out the gate.

So, has anyone else gone mining in the snowy final level?

No, this was not a cave I found. I dug down, and hit iron. I broke the iron, and hit diamond. That clear area? That was all diamond. I have full diamond tools. Full diamond armor. Full extended diamond armor and extended diamond tools from a mod. I have 29,940 diamonds. 3,326 blocks of diamond. And it's still not clear.

    Easily the best reward ever.

    Because I have.

Well, I appear to have a problem D:

I have, frankly, an absurd amount of mods installed. I'll list them if it's necessary, but we're talking a 12,612 kb jar file and a full mods folder kind of absurd.

I made an extended diamond super bow and a superb bow, and I made superb arrows and extended diamond arrows to go with them. However, if I fire either bow, the game immediately switches to the 'Saving Chunks' screen and crashes. Since it's not crashing at start up, there's no error log to sort through.

(I checked with the other bows and it does the same thing).

One thing to note is that on relog, the arrow is gone, suggesting that it did in fact fire but that something wasn't set to handle it after that point. Either that or something I have is conflicting with how arrows are fired.

It's a very lovely looking mod; if I get up the patience I'll see about systematically running through my mods to see where the conflict is. Right now, however, I guess I can't use it.

posted a message on [1.6.2/1.5.2][Forge][SMP]ComicRetrolution's Craftory Mods: Farming and much more! FishCraftory Beta available! (Updated Aug 18th
    Heya,

I figured out most of the chefcraftory stuff on my own, but the one thing that is stumping me is that a recipe calls for Tall Grass. I tried harvesting grass with shears, I tried using wilted grass, I even tried TMI and looked up every grass-related thing, but nothing seems to work.

Also, are there plans to have fishcraftory and fruitcraftory implemented in chefcraftory?

(Also, I think Xaiwaker is missing a bunch of the fishcraftory sprites)

Aside from that, this mod set has been amazing so far. Good work overall!

How experienced are you with skyblock: Gave it a shot once, never on a server before.
Why do you want to join this server?: I want to try it out, especially co-op with my friend Zazaranth (he hasn't applied yet).
Have you read the rules and realize that any griefing or stealing AT ALL is logged with the logblock plugin and you will be banned for breaking the rules?: Yes.

    posted a message on [V1.6] Xie's Farming Mod v1.4
Bizarre thing I discovered: Nature Overhaul + Farming = conflict. Farming + Nature Overhaul = works. I can't explain it, but the order allows it to somewhat string together.

If you install Farming first and then Nature Overhaul, the two still work together; but the trees from Xie's mod don't grow trunks so they immediately start falling apart. Trying to install Farming second results in a bizarro snow world, devoid of all trees, that has a plus sign made of biome-less grass that turns the sky red if you stand on it. Not kidding. Gotta be the strangest sort of conflict I've ever seen.

posted a message on Creeper Terrorist mod
    Quote from iamjim »

If you want to get technical, this is a mod. He altered the game, he made a modification to the game. Don't believe me? Pick up a dictionary

OT: There is nothing wrong with this mod, no rascism here. I do not see anything race related here, I see a terrorist, which can be any ethnicity, any religion, any person. Mods should not lock this, not only because it's not racist, but also because it is a modification of the original Minecraft game. Not just a "reskin", but a mod. If we aren't talking technical terms than this may be moved (I don't know where this belongs if it isn't a modification.) but it should remain here.

Excuse me? Textures were moved to their own section because if re-textures were put in with all other mods, it'd be a bloody mess. So yeah, if you wanna be technical, he did alter the game. If that's the case, he put his "mod" in the wrong section. It still doesn't belong here, no matter how desperate you are for it.

As far as racism goes...I mean golly gee, I do so wonder what race this terrorist is meant to be. Something truly unique without touching the racism issue at all would have been to invent some new skin and give it some phrase to say that could be Minecraft related (ie "in the name of Notch!" or some such). It's not racism, as much as it's just flagrant stupidity.

And if you really wanna rag on about it, there's been dozens of this EXACT "mod" just in the past few weeks. I remember seeing one of these locked the other day because it was just a sound change, and that would more effectively belong here.

I get that we all desperately wanna defend it because it's oh so cute to make the terrorist joke, but it really wears down my already spread-thin patience at how utterly unoriginal everyone is. I mean, is this what we strive for? Barking out the same tired, semi-funny joke over and over again until it loses all punch and becomes aggravating? Is this what creativity is?
