For what its worth, installing http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/943890-launcher-mod-auto-login-resize/ fixed the problem for me. I guess the launcher doesn't like my computer.

That link doesn't work, try putting it in your public folder, right clicking it, and hitting "Dropbox -> Copy Public Link"

I'm at work right now, or I'd try it, but would you guys recommend I try some older versions of Java, such as a later edition of Version 6?

Hi guys,

I've been having this problem for the last few months, where whenever I open Minecraft, either by Minecraft.exe or MagicLauncher, my computer lags for a few seconds before it loads. I have made sure I have only one version of Java installed (7 Update 5 x64 at the moment), that no other programs are running that would affect it, and have even tried a full uninstall, restart, reinstall, on both Minecraft AND Java.

If I have Task Manager open while I open the game, I can see javaw.exe being the problem, and spiking up to 100% CPU.

My computer specs are as follows:

Windows 7 x64 Home Premium
i7 2600k 3.4 GHz
8GB Memory
Gigabyte 6870HD 1GB
60GB SSD (Which is where both Java and Minecraft reside)
2x 1TB internals

This isn't a TERRIBLE problem. My computer isn't crashing or anything, and the game plays fine after it loads, but it's getting very, very old.
