Hello and welcome to my little piece of heaven.. Just to briefly introduce us, Creeper's Paradise is meant to be vanilla survival without the bells and whistles you find in larger servers. This place is ran by an adult for people that will appreciate having a place to roam free, not be tied to petty rules or mechanics. No BS No Bloat is our motto. Below is a list of the features here:
There are NO teleports or commands to shoot lightning out of your **** or anything, its pretty much vanilla.
To add some difficulty and eliminate the need for a non-vanilla spawn point, on first login or any time you die you will spawn at a random location until you set up a bed. You can spawn within 7.5k x 7.5k blocks of 0,0 but map is 15k x 15k big.
PVP is disabled and stealing or griefing are not allowed. All block changes or chest access is logged.
Block damage from any kind of explosion is disabled to prevent the map from turning into a crater. Explosions still damage players.
This is not pay-to-win nor will it ever be. This dedicated server is fully paid for in increments of 6 months, as it is part of my testing environment as a full-time system admin for my day job.
We have teamspeak3! If you want a private channel for yourself or your group just ask, you dont even have to play here!
Simple Rules:
No cheating, hacking, flying, etc. Anti-xray and anti-cheat are enabled. Instant ban!
No excessively obscene or disrespectful language.
No whining, complaining, or asking for mod.
No stealing or griefing. All actions are logged.

Let me start off by clarifying I'm not looking for money, and I suck terribly at using paragraphs, so bear with me below..
I am just looking for some help starting my server up. This would normally be a looking for staff post but to be honest I am seeking a bit more involvement than that. Most looking for staff threads attract people wanting some sort of power for whatever reason, but here I am looking for people interested in being the driving force behind what could be a small but vibrant community of quality players. I am a seasoned Linux system administrator by day, and an avid minecrafter by night, but the truth is I do not have as much time to spend as I would like to administer such an endeavor due to my work schedule. Working Tues-Sat 2-11pm leaves a big gap in "staff" coverage during gaming primetime that I hope to fill up with quality people that will help me not only bring new people in every day, but also have fun themselves by being an active member of the server. I am a RedHat Certified Engineer who works with hosting for a living and have all the tools and resources at my disposal to make this a worthwhile effort for us, all I need are some volunteers excited by the thought of being able to mold their own playing environment into the kind everyone looks for, the kind where everyone knows each other, and you can drop in for a few minutes even just to have a quick laugh or maybe share a story with the people online. The game itself is fun, yes, but we all know its all about the interaction, and only quality people attract more quality people that make for quality interaction. If I could sum up what I want to achieve here in 3 words, it would most certainly be quality over quantity.
Wall of text aside, let me give you some straight facts about this whole thing to see if the server itself fits your gamestyle, and if you are okay with the terms of being a staff volunteer:
You will not have infinite power. This "mod" position is just that, a moderator, not an omnipotent being. You will have just enough tools to enforce the rules of the server, but apart from that you will be just a regular player. Even I the owner play legitimately, as like I've said before I care about the interaction, not infinite diamonds.
You want to help bring more people in. This means helping us with the whitelisting process and helping us spread the word about what could become the best little oldschoolish server out there.
This server will be minimalistic plugin-wise. I do not care for mojangs update process and do not wish to burn out keeping up with them. What little time I have left I want to be able to play the game the way it was meant to be played. Mechanics-wise all we have is /spawn and /home and perhaps self-serve land protection to prevent grief. I will not take suggestions for new plugins, as it aims to be as close to vanilla as possible.
Worthy mods will be picked to become full-fledged admins when I think they are ready, not a day before, so please do not ask. Previous Linux experience will be a plus.
You are an adult, or at the very least sound like one on teamspeak. I would like to speak with you on teamspeak at some point so please be able and willing to hop on. It is also strongly encouraged to hang out on teamspeak whenever playing. This will foster a much stronger community.
You do not cheat, hack or utilize any tools that could disrupt or make gameplay unfair for others.
If you are okay with the terms above, I would ask you to please fill out the following information to the best of your ability, and put at least as much effort as I have put into typing up this proposition for you. I know its a hassle but you dont have to do it, and if you do, I sincerely appreciate your time and interest. I will get back to each respondent as soon as possible.
I know this whole idea is not the most original with the hundreds of servers out there, but proper execution is rare and far apart. What do you think about it?
This position would mean more work when you could just be playing and having fun, so why would you accept this offer? Is it for power, for recognition, or what? Please be honest, there is no wrong answer as long as you enforce rules appropriately.
Just to know a little about your playing style, what do you like doing in the game itself? Do you like building, playing with redstone, exploring caves, messing around with others, or what?
Perhaps share a little about yourself in real life, like your age, where you live, what you do for a living or what your hobbies are (besides minecraft of course ). You might just turn out to be a systems engineer and would like to fiddle with the server like me!
Anything else you might feel worth mentioning that isnt covered by the questions above. I dont know how many replies I will get to this, if any, and it may come down to this question to set you apart. I can only have so many mods!
