    Aaaand after looking at it, removed Diago's. Read the rules - your 107 stack of iron blocks strains credibility a bit as to not using invedit.

    I s'pose I should start with your file then instead. I think I'd have finished by now, but a Ghast crashed my entire comp and I stopped for the day. I'll tell that story later.

    Here's an idea. You could add links to the branch's download in the OP, if that isn't to difficult to keep track of. It would help people label which branch they are on, instead of having to search through posts to find it.

    Yeah, I plan to once we have viable branches.

    - Branch: Cranica (Post #1) --> Me
    - Changes: Throne and portal created, lots of gold, iron and diamond found near that overhang and forest fire zone, creeper blew of one of the exits so i rebuilt it stronger then ever, it now uses a button to enter and exit the base.

    So the world will basicly split into different chains because no one has to say take/returned? Interesting...

    That's the idea - it'll be interesting to see if the worlds converge.

    :Diamond: Rules :Diamond:

    - Take a world from any post in this thread. You do not need to post "taken" or anything of the sort - this is not a chain world in the usual sense. Try to take one that isn't already extensively chained.
    - Play on Normal difficulty, without InvEdit or any other outside assistance.
    - Add something substantial to it - a minecart system, a water elevator, an enormous treehouse - the sky's the limit. Make sure it's constructive (adds something to the world) rather than, say, just blasting a massive TNT pit.
    - If you explore, leave outposts scattered around the world, and mark them without breaking the entire landscape if you can.
    - Repost the world, with a list of the improvements you've made and a link to the previous post you got the world from.

    The idea is to see how different creativity plays off with the same basic groundwork - I'll do my best to track nodes in the OP here and label major branches with a :Green: :Red: :Violet: :Teal: color.

    :VV: Current Branches :VV:

    Want to help branch? Focus on an italic'd world.

    :Blue: Cranica (Post #1)

    :Green: Cranica (Post #1) --> Kraal (P1, 20) --> Anorangesniper (P1, 29)

    :mossystone: Things To Post With Your Version :mossystone:

    - A list of the branch of the world you're on - something like "Bob (Pg 1, Post #1) -> Steve (Pg 1, Post #17) -> Me" so we can trace how the world branches out.
    - A list of the changes made since the previous node of your branch - in the example above, what did you add to Steve's version of the world?
    - Upload date

    I'll begin with a world I've been playing for a bit on-and-off - it's a very good map, generated before the 1.2 update so you'll have to go a ways to find Lapis Lazuli if you want it. If you want an interesting area to work with, there's an enormous natural overhang just east of the primary base.

    :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water:

    - Branch: Me (Post #1)
    - Changes: World created, farm and base designed. See upper floor of main base for a placeholder map area with the only created outpost labeled. Follow the beacons to reach the outpost - it's in the midst of an enormous forest fire created by outdoor lava.

    posted a message on Obsidian Swords
    Well, I had to register to respond to this, think of me what you will.

    Nope, diamond is actually one of the strongest materials known to man. That's why it's used in the tips of drills. It does most certainly NOT shatter like glass.

    Having diamond swords be the strongest makes sense.

    In gameplay terms it makes sense as well, mass producing obsidian is way easier than gathering a lot of diamond.

    Diamond is the hardest substance in existence as far as we know. It would not shatter on impact as easily as you would think. :L

    These two posts confuse hardness with strength. Diamond is the hardest natural material known, under the technical definition of hardness - namely, a harder material can scratch a softer one. But because of its regular crystal structure, there are four planes on a diamond that will cleanly shatter it if struck with enough force. See Wikipedia for further discussion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond#Hardness

    EDIT: Argh, ninja'd.
