posted a message on Question about Command Blocks

I attempted the /testfor method, but the output keeps saying I need to specify a player.

    I typed /testfor @a [r=3] in the interface.

Edit: Never mind, I figured out the issue. It works now. Thanks!

posted a message on Question about Command Blocks

Hello. I am considering making a map in 1.7.10, and I am wondering if there is a way to activate a command block just by the player walking nearby it. I've seen a few maps where the player would simply walk into a room and then a command block activates somewhere and music plays or something like that. I'm just curious how that is possible. Is there a radius setting perhaps? If so, how do I use it? It would be very helpful to know.

    Thank you in advance.

Thank you all for the input ^^ I've grown attached to the snake by now anyway.

I like the idea of a tail in back. Maybe I'll add that.

    Hello.

I am building this temple and wanted a distinguishing face or something on the front of it to make it look cool. So I made this snake. I really don't know what to think of him to be honest, I can't decide whether or not to take him down and make something else or to just leave him there. What do you think?

posted a message on I Can't Remember This Command

I believe there is a command out there that only affects mobs or players within a radius. For instance, let's say I wanted to teleport a player away, but only when they fall into a certain radius of the command block. I do not remember what this command would be, could somebody help me? Thank you.

posted a message on Temperature Mod?

Hello. I've just been playing in the game, thinking to myself how much more realistic the game could be with the addition of a few conditional changes. I am sure that this has been suggested before, and if there is already a mod out there like this, please link it to me.
How about a mod which adds a 'cold' or 'warm' meter? For instance, if a player were to stay in a snow biome, or out in the rain too long, they get too cold, and their health slowly goes down. Or if they spend too much time in a desert biome, or too far underground near lava, they get too hot. The only cure for the temperatures would be (for the cold): hot drinks, warm fires, certain clothing, and (for the hot): cold drinks, a certain cooling pack of some kind to wear, or maybe taking a swim. The temperature can go down during the night, too.
This could also be added onto to make some items or blocks, such as a thermometer.

posted a message on Adding the § symbol to command blocks?

Also, I probably should clarify that I am using 1.7.10. 1.8.+ seems to heavily lag my computer.

posted a message on Adding the § symbol to command blocks?

I tried using the command /tellraw Hello. But then it told me that I needed to specify a player. Since I want the message to be displayed publicly, I tried using /tellraw @a Hello. And the command block gave me the message "[20:24:53] Invalid json: use JsonReader.SetLenient(true) to accept malformed json at line 1 column 7"

But I cannot seem to make the /tellraw command compatible with an adventure map. My reasons for learning about command blocks is to use them in an adventure map. Am I missing something, anyway?

posted a message on Adding the § symbol to command blocks?

    Hello.

I could not find any tutorials on this sort of thing anywhere else online, so I am hoping that someone will at least put something here.

Anyway, I would like to have command block text be a different color, and after finding out that I could not simply copy and paste the symbol into the interface, I looked it up and found that there are some external sources which can do this for me. However, none of the sites that I have gone to have listed any external source which was helpful.

So... what external sources can help me to implement the § symbol into command blocks? And where do I download or install them?

    Thanks in advance.

Hey, I like this idea! As it has been stated before, finally a suggestion about the Ender egg that doesn't have anything to do with it hatching!

Also an interesting way to show off to your server buddies that you've just defeated the Ender :P
