Since minecraft is a sandbox, in order to have more fun, you shouldn't go to the wiki right when you start playing, as will said, as it ruins the fun of discovering new things. You should know how to craft the basic tools, though, and how to make a crafting table, furnace, and chest. The rest you should try to figure out by yourself.
I agree completely. I had to look up a "surviving the first night" video, but now I'm all about exploring.

These are the feelings I found within me:
As soon as this new world opened up to me, well, I was confused. No, I knew what Minecraft was going to look at—the Internet is full of Minecraft videos that I stumbled upon while browsing over the past few months. However, I was still confused. I felt like I woke up in an old NES world that had been blown up and stretched to the max, yet there was so much of this stretched, pixelated, NES world to explore. I began to move around, witnessing new life in abundance; this new life staring back at me like it had known me for years. I was home to a future that still contained the past. It was gaming beauty.
Apr 8, 2012Hello,Posted in: General Off Topic
I'm the Cosmosquito. Okay, I'm Dustin. I'm 28 and live in Texas. I teach for a living.
Anyway, I've known about Minecraft for a while, but today was the day I actually purchased and played it. Therefore, I'm a totaly n00b at this game. I'm reading guides, watching videos, and simply exploring right now. Thanks for such a great forum with a great deal of information.
I'll be buzzing around,
