Awesome in so many ways. Despite not being a screenshot(you don't say?) I am highly impressed at your determination and eye for detail. It has become so lovely you should make more of them and sell them online. My heart is just melting at the sight of it.

Given the amount of time they take to make, that will never ever happen.

Dude, that is bloody fantastic! Amazing Totally awesome, etc etc

Makes sense though that he is high maintenance, he wants to explode. :SSSS: (Seriously though that is a bit of a pain.)

Only certain spots come loose, and the main reason for it is that when I cut off the ends of the squares after sewing them together, it tends to remove the protection provided by doubling back on the stitching.
This isn't a problem everywhere, and I try to make my repairs as solid as possible (and I do them using clear thread and a ladder stitch, so they are virtually invisible), so ideally, the rate of required maintenance should taper off as I repair all of the weakened areas.

Ok those were cool. Good job you should be proud.

Thanks, I definitely am. I have to say that cutting the last stitch was virtually orgasmic.

Although, there are a few things that have popped up recently which should be known to anyone who wants to attempt a project like this:
Since this guy contains a few thousand separate lines of stitches, no matter how careful you are, a few are going to come loose after exposure to moderate doses of time and temperature variability. If these are connected to other stitches, it tends to pull those loose as well.
I walked into my room one day to find that the front of the legs had virtually disconnected from the body entirely, and had to spend a couple of hours hand stitching them back on.
I also spent about an hour last night mending a few stitches that were starting to come loose along the body front/back to body side connections.
    So, maintenance kind of sucks.

    Otherwise, he's great!

posted a message on Why, exactly, don't ender pearls work in creative mode?
There isn't always a definite reason for this kind of thing, but if I had to guess, I would say that it is because throwing ender pearls almost always causes you to glitch into blocks.
On the occasion that a player gets completely stuck in a block and panics because they briefly forget that they are in creative mode, it is likely that they will cause significant damage to any surrounding structure due to the action of holding down the mouse button in an attempt to escape.

Probably not the real reason, but figured I would throw it out as an idea.

On another note, how cool would it be if, in creative mode, ender pearls worked like the compass in world edit?

I posted these pictures to Reddit about two weeks ago, when I had originally finished this project. Since I don't hang out on the MC forums very often, I hadn't originally thought to post them here. I was taking a short visit here today and decided to share with you guys.

Just a quick note: these are IRL picture of myself doing in-game actions, and so by it's nature does not really fall into the fan-art category. However, it does not really fall into the screenshots category, so I just decided to post them here, since I had to make up my mind (sorry if I chose wrong, I can move/delete this if necessary).

Project background: I started this project because I had aquired the sudden urge to obtain a creeper plush. I spent a lot of time browsing the web for them, but was never really satisfied with the available products until I came across the creeper plush made by Arixystix. (http://www.etsy.com/...ush?ref=pr_shop)
If I recall correctly, that plush got posted under digital diamonds a very long time ago (>a year, I think), and is still sold online as a sewing pattern, so I decided to take that on as a project for me to do over winter break of 2011.

Now, there are a couple things to understand here:
    1) I had never sewn anything in my life.
    2) I am extremely OCD.

These resulted in some good and some bad. The good was that throughout the project, I was extremely meticulous, because I was not sure exactly how important each measurement was to the overall design, so I was a perfectionist about everything, just to be safe. The bad was that this tendency resulted in the project taking a very, very long time.

As a result of this, by the end of my month long winter break, I had only managed to sew together about half of the squares that made up the fabric for the legs (this was only working a couple hours a day on it).

Similarly, little progress was made during Spring break as well.

When this Summer rolled around, I decided at some point in mid July that I was going to just plain force myself to finish the project before heading back to school (on September 29th). By that time, I had finished and assembled the legs, and created one of the pieces for the front/back of the body section.

From that day onwards, I spent almost all of my waking hours on the project, until I finally finished in early September.

Overall, I spent between 300 and 400 hours creating this creeper plush, and I don't regret a minute of it, because while I know I'm not the first one to make this design, I have the consolation that the time I put into it has resulted in one of the best that have ever been created (as stated by Arixystix "the best one I have seen anyone else make yet").

    Some specifications of the creeper:
-It is made from 1236 wool felt squares.
-Each square is exactly 1.5"x1.5" at the location of the stitches (take my word for it when I say exactly, because I traced 1.5"x1.5" squares on every single piece of felt, and used pins to align every single piece's corners. I even re-drew the squares when the stitch wasn't exactly on the line).
-The creeper is 3' 4" tall (just over a meter), and is approximately twice as tall as the original by Arixystix.
-It is stuffed with blocks of high density foam. The sharp edges were achieved by making sure that all measurements of the foam were exact.
-There is a wire frame in the legs which allows it to stand up.

If you guys have any questions about the creeper, or the creation process, feel free to ask! This medium of communication is, quite frankly, more convenient than Reddit.

    Without further ado, the pictures:

Before you ask, I do have an alternate version of this first picture, in which I am using my fist, rather than a hatchet: http://i.imgur.com/7E6Uo.jpg

These last two pictures were not posted to Reddit:

    Enjoy! Feedback is appreciated.

I am also open to picture requests.

    -CorrectJeans

A couple weeks ago I finished making a creeper plush which is just over a meter tall.

If that thing ended up turning into the real deal, I would have serious issues.

Yeah, I'm getting the exact same issue.

It might also be worth it to note that we have the same graphics card.

Also, I had the performance tab running as I was playing at the time, and I noticed that every single time there is a freeze, the activity in two of the 3 processors in use goes to 0 for the period of the freeze.

In addition, the game does not continue playing while it is frozen. This is backed up by the fact that I once froze while next to a creeper, and when I unfroze, it had not blown up yet.

This isn't a giant issue, it's just really annoying and makes it quite dangerous to build bridges which require holding shift to avoid falling.

Hey guys! It's been a while since anything has happened on this thread, but it's a new year in college, so a new year of possibilities to become very bored for long periods of time.

Also, I have a much better computer now, so the use of redstone can now occur without any lag, yay!

Just wanted to update this since I might actually get back to building in the spheres if I get time later.
