FYI, this isn't the first working Rubik's Cube. I finished a few days ago and submitted it but for some reason Conundrumer's video got approved first and promoted.
He's right. WedTM, you really should give credit to Openarl for making the first.

Flint and steel should be reusable many times, but also difficult to get the materials for crafting.
A stick and bow makes fire really slowly in real life. So not only should the stick be used up, but it'll take around the same time as using the lens, since it's not difficult to get the materials (compared to the other methods).
Lens sounds great.

I was going to do that (flower gates) for a larger project, and I actually designed several modules, but it was just going to end up being too slow.

Obsidian has been used to make a variety of sharp tools, such as arrow heads and surgical scalpels. It would make sense to be able to use obsidian for tools and weapons.
Obsidian is a brittle rock, capable of having a very sharp edge. This can be used as a substitute for flint in real life, so we should be able to craft "flint and steel" out of obsidian and iron.
I think obsidian is a pretty bad ass name. The blackness only adds to obsidian's awesomeness. There's also how it takes a long time to mine obsidian, so obsidian should be right below the level of diamond, if not above. Maybe, instead of veins like with other ores, obsidian can only be formed by the combination of water and lava, making it rare and difficult to produce. I can imagine the mass production of obsidian a frustrating and dangerous process.
tl;dr obsidian is hard and bad ass

Obsidian should be able to work, as well.
Actually, why can't we make tools out of obsidian? Obsidian was used for arrow heads in the Stone Age, and is now used for surgical scalpels. Seems pretty useful.

Rather, may I join your quest for efficient calculators (collaborate)? I've already made plans for a binary to BCD converter and a compressed 7 segment display (which can be made faster by using glitched sand), and I aimed for a 4 function calculator.

It's also a supported opinion, because it's practical. Some don't have spare money, others have parents who won't let them buy stuff from the internet. Naturally, those in the aforementioned situations would get a free program.

Good job nonetheless. I'm still using my flower gate design, with a binary input and decimal output. I guess I'll have to make mine 8 bit with more functions, since there already exists a 4 bit adder. Someone will probably beat me to it, again, though.
