Feb 19, 20144557.9km by 2632km. Gets around 11.9million km^2.Posted in: General Off Topic
Not really sure if I found that out right. The ratio of those number is 1.73, while 518/381 = 1.36
These are the correct dimensions : 4039.80km x 2970.443km. I can show you the math if you want.

The x value increases by 20 and the Y value decreases by 5, so I'm guessing that x = -4y plus or minus some random number.
Or is it y = -4/x plus some random number?
God it's been like a million years since I've done algebra.
I think it's y=-4/x -1.5
if you don't know what you are doing, don't post.
the answer is y=0.25x-5.5
1.5-(-3.5)/8-(-12) = 5/20
y = 0.25x + b
sub in any point given
-3.5 = 0.25(8) + b
b = -5.5
Jan 31, 2014OK, i tried a different cable, and got up to around 19MB/s. In the network utility, the link speed did increase from 100mbps to 1000mbps.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
I know that it will never actually get up to 1gbps, because of the hard drive inside, but it is still concerning that using wifi gets a faster speed.

Two possible reasons.
1. Your MacBook OR Router is negotiating the link at 100Mbps instead of 1Gbps. Chances are your router does not support gigabit ethernet. If that's the case, you're screwed - time to buy a new router.
2. Your ethernet cable does not support 1Gbps (unlikely but possible). Try using a different cable.
just checked online and it does have Gb ports.
Same results with a different cable

If the system's old enough, the built in ethernet port might not support faster speeds.
its the 2013 rMBP and the router is the AirPort timecapsule.
Nothing else was connected to it.
