Well, if you wanted to put in the work, you could learn how to place custom mob spawners with commands. It can get dicey at times if you're doing really complicated things, like spawning mobs with gear, changing the range of blocks mobs spawn on, fluctuating the mob that actually spawns, etc.; but for normal mobs it's very easy.
How does that sound?
Just default spawners for npcs...thats all im looking for. Due to all the updates in the game spawners are difficult to find, and i want to test mob traps
ToomanyItems hasnt updated to the newest venison of minecraft. Is there another mod that lets you spawn any kind of monster/npc spanwer ? I really need it for a single player world. plz help
Technically speaking. I find it difficult to to find Minecraft mods at a certain version. Some sites will say come download this 1.10.2/1.9 but you look at the downloads (most of the way down the page) and only see 1.8 as the latest. Also, I found some that the modder stop posting on on forum and started posting on another. Figured I'd ask to avoid all that.
I just ran into the issue, the tags are saying 1.10.2 but the downloads are all 1.8. Is there other mods like this that are updated? I just need monster spawners
It could just as easily be done the way I suggested, with a redstone pulse linking to two command blocks (One to add the nogrief code, and other to stop commandblock texts), granted this method requires a dedicated area in the map and a bit of cost as far as materials go, but all in all it's not a super difficult solution. The fact is, you need to make a decision, is this important enough to configure a few files, or is not so much so that you are willing to continue on your current method?
Incorrect, having it done by redstone wont work after you reopen the world. Lan/cheats must be enabled again for it to work. Unless you mean a redblock machine, if so please let me know if you know of one that works for the newest version of MC. To be honest I rather have something already set up like "mod or command block machine" so I can just use that for every world and not have to edit them all one by one.
If you look at the editor I gave a link to and look at the pictures you would have already fixed this issue. It is simpler to edit the save; you would be able to turn cheats on permently, disable griefing, and turn off commandblock spam. To be honest you would have finished your requests faster than I could have typed this and took the screen shots to show you what to edit.
I guess you missed the part where I said I didnt want to edit that. Now that its clear, stop posting about it thanks
In that case your world must be really screwed up (unless you've got some mod messing things up.)
Or just that when you reload the world you have to flip the switch twice to get it to run the command again?
Cause that's what the repeater is for.
I open MC, I load my world up, I must enable LAN and Cheats for command blocks to do anything. Now the commands on them work, however when I save the game, close the game, then open MC, load my world, and try the command block it wont work unless LAN/Cheats are enabled.
If cheating is disabled you need the LAN setting to set up the command block but once set up the command block should have permission to run any command even with cheats off. And you say it works don't you? Just that it reverts when you reload the map. Which is odd, do you have any mods?
Have you checked if the same thing happens on a newly started world or is it just that world?
So using a repeating command block should keep on working even if you restart the world. (or a command block on a redstone clock if you are running an earlier version)
The issue is everytime I close the game, then reopen the world they dont work unless lan and cheating is enabled everytime
If you use the commandblock method it will not spam chat just by using a button. It should say it once. If you use a fill clock or similar then yes it would but you just type /gamerule commandBlockOutput false to stop it.
Issue is this wont work unless its set to LAN mode, and cheating is enabled....or did I miss something?
You could set the command block to take a signal with a repeater... Right? That would make it reset when the world loads without any unnecessary level flipping or button pressing, but a redstone torch and a repeater.
Wouldnt that spam chat with the gamerules updating? Also i know little to nothing about the new redstone stuff, can you show me a pic example in a small area?
In a command block you don't need the "/" but it doesn't matter if you have it.
Did it, have it on a lever. However once reloading the world it disabled it yet again. It seems I have to either keep activating it on every world upload....or until there is a stable mod for it.
I'd enter the mobGriefing command in a command block using LAN, then when you go back to single player you can place a button next to the command block and press it. Then the command should be executed in the single player world and it should stay that way.
Sounds like a good idea, can you give me the line of code?
Use NBTExplorer and edit the gamerule on the level.dat in the save you desire to disable mobgreifing. This method will ensure it is only done once; although changing it in game should only be necessary once.
too complex, dont wanna mess with that. A mod would be easier if someone made it
