Oh my, that looks nice! Do you mind if I steal that armory design for my storage room in my world? It looks very neat and simplistic, without getting overly-detailed as I see lots of people doing.

posted a message on What version did you start playing in?
I started playing in Alpha about 2 months before Beta started. Can't remember which version. I spend quite some time playing in a pirated Minecraft with some friends in a Hamachi server, had tons of fun, so I bought the game at around Beta 1.2.

You are lucky there is no shark.

Wish there was some water mobs ... it always gives me the shiver to cross a water mob ...in all games.

Yeah, sharks would add a lot to that type of biome.

Definitely forests. Tons of wood, usually lots of caves, and often populated by pigs and/or cows. They're also my favorite place to build, I usually build a nice cabin in them.

I don't like cabins in forests that much, except in Taiga biomes. Usually in forest biomes I build a half-sunk house, dug 2 blocks into the ground to occupy as little vertical space as possible so I can have plenty of interior space :D

I'm trying to explore the ocean I've spawned in. I've moved 1300 blocks to the North, 1100 blocks to the East, 700 South and 400 West, but no significant plots of land were found. I'll try reaching 2000 blocks South and West before trying North and East again.

Of course, I could use a world viewer to try and see where is land, but what is the fun in that? ;)

Plains, surrounded by different kinds of forests and maybe even with a big lake or ocean nearby. That makes just awesome landscapes. Bonus points if there is also a extreme hill biomes nearby or bordering it. It is a quite common place to spawn in 1.7.x, but it never gets bored to me. However, spawning in a huge taiga or in a desert is also quite awesome and gives a whole different atmosphere to the game.

(yes, I'm still very enthusiastic about the 1.7 world generator, it is just so awesome looking...)

Ah, yeah, I know how that is awesome. I have a world in 1.7 with a coastal medium-sized plain and some very nice mountains nearby. I was planning on building a fortress in the side of one of the mountains, but I've been playing around with Thaumcraft so I had to revert to 1.6.4 and create a new world for Thaumcraft.

posted a message on What are good blocks for building a house?
I don't know about the floor, as I rarely build houses out of stone or cobblestone, but personally I see little reason to use glass blocks over glass panes, and glass panes are more economical and look more like actual windows. If the window is diagonal, tho, it is better to use glass blocks.

I normally play SP Normal, but sometimes when I want to explore without being bottered by skeletons bombarding me with arrow at night I switch to Peaceful.

Which biome do you think is the most interesting and fun to start your world in? That is, supposing your stay in the surroundings of your spawn point.

Personally, I prefer the goold ol' plains. It is easy to find terrain suitable for a medium-sized base and farms. However, the most interesting biome I've spawned in is a small island system in the middle of an Ocean. I didn't even know it was possible to spawn in an Ocean biome. It is a pretty fun and interesting experience because there are very few resources when you start(little to no trees, seeds, cobblestone, etc), but you also don't have hostile mobs running up your farm every 30 seconds at night. Makes it a pain in the butt to get strings for a fishing hook but once you do it you have basically unlimited food, heh.

posted a message on Having Trouble with installing Forge for MC 1.6.4
I'm trying to install Forge, to play Thaumcraft 4.10. However, when I execute the .jar and start installing the client, leading to the correct pathway, I receive this error:

These libraries failed to download. Try Again.
    org.scala-lang:scala-library:2.10.2, org.scala-lang:scala-compiler:2.10.2

Am I doing something wrong, did I ignore some step or direct the installation to the wrong folder?

    Cheers, anyway.

Built an outpost near a river I found while exploring the Dark Oak woods around my main base. I'm going to gather some resources and start going upriver to see if I find anything interesting.

Eh, highly redundant and the way the OP suggested makes little sense, but I'd like it for aesthetics.
