I don't see what the problem is. 60 FPS is the highest rate most monitors can do.

The 960 should be able to handle it well (haven't tried it, but I can consistently run other games on high and get 90-120 FPS). Only problem I can see is that your CPU is fairly weak.

posted a message on Is Piracy good or bad?

I'm not proud of it, but the loosest excuse is that those are my electrons now.

There was an app I used to play, and I got a licensing error after purchasing it legitimately (for $3). So I pirated it (which in my opinion is fully justified) and it worked fine.

This happened again with a $60 game, and I pirated that too, and the copy I downloaded worked.

Then of course there's the argument that I'm not going to pay for the game anyway.

posted a message on How Do You Think The World Will End??

I'd say it's based off of medical, computer, and space advances made in the future. Based on the last 30 years, there's been an emphasis on technology, but I can only imagine that helping humanity as of what I know of computers-- an uprising would be impossible as you can't program free will with on switches and off switches.

Also, given humanty's knack for surviving, I'd imagine we'd have developed space technologies so as to find the nearest habitable planet before we run out of resources. It'd take 19,000 odd years to get to the nearest planet today, but I'd be surprised if they didn't figure out how to get that far in my lifetime. It's one of my goals, in fact.

The GPU has very little to do with frames in minecraft (unless you're running shaders). After I got my 960 I didn't get any more frames than I had before.

    Could you give an example?

Windows you can do all kinds of stuff on, hacking, running "unapproved" programs (not necessarily what you're thinking). Basically, it doesn't have to be a brand specific piece of software to work.

granted, I haven't used Macs that much, but I do like my iPad. It looks nice, and runs smoothly. However, I am a more technical user on a PC, and I've found Macs are much more difficult to navigate in that sense,

In Brawl I mainly did Mario, Kirby, Bowser, Meta Knight, Marth, Ike, Link, Luigi (I was pretty much a boss at brawl)

Haven't played the new one much but the Miis, Mario, and Meta Knight are the ones I tend to play when I get the chance.

Apple looks good but doesn't have the functionality of other OS's.

I stand, for the most part, corrected. However, when people know that they CAN get executed for something, they are much less likely to do the thing in the first place, saving money overall for the government, albeit indirectly.

    on topic

Maybe the people outside America think we're stupid because it costs us a few hundred million dollars to execute ONE criminal... In Russia, it certainly doesn't cost that much.

The movies for LotR, IMO, are better. The books of Harry Potter for me are a more enjoyable "lazy" read. The LotR books are written much better, but thusly require more thought which sometimes I read to escape from.

Because the education system is terrible, most money goes to military. Also the government has no control over the country, 32 states still execute criminals!

You DO realize that executing criminals save the gov't. millions of dollars, right?

In Ancient Hawaii, the punishment for every crime was death. And can you guess what the crime rate was? Pretty close to 0.

Also, the U.S is placed low in educational status because we test EVERYBODY, including those who are mentally ill and those who generally aren't as "bright" as others. Many high-placing countries test only their best students.

Trolling can be an outlet yet it may not be healthy.....

Haven't you heard? Some say trolling is a sign of being a sadist or something like that *shrugs*.

I may troll, but I'm certainly not a hardcore troller who simply wants to wreck someone's day. I'm not overly mean, I don't insult them... I just find it amusing to watch people make themselves get angry sometimes. If they ask me to stop, I do.

Lord of the Rings, definitely. As a kid, I found the quick paced action and simple writing style of Harry Potter more appealing, but now that I've aged, one simply cannot beat the richness and history of LotR.
