posted a message on Looking for server hosting. Big idea. Needs to be free. Must hold 100-500 players minimum
Son, you need a few hundred thousand subs to get a server hosted for free, with 100-150 minimum. Do you have the playerbase yet? The popularity? Probably not. This is wasted effort, unless you put your effort in the right places. Get a huge youtube channel, then you can probably start expecting emails from hosting companies, if they even contact you. Don't expect stuff to be given to you, ever.

    EDIT: I don't believe a word

Hell that was a long wade through the internet only to find out that the AMD K140 is essentially the AMD E2-1800 APU.

Dude I can't find your laptop. Not even joking here, I don't know what to do. The one that comes up when I google the motherboard is an intel one....

TL;DR This laptop can run minecraft.

posted a message on Good graphics card?
Your case looks like it can fit a larger GPU or another one. If you can TELL US YOUR BUDGET we can help you find a good Gpu for the price.

You would simply have to uninstall the old gpu drivers and install new ones for the new card, should you get a new one.

I'm hoping to find a humble server with more than 5 people, but less than 70. Anything over that is like a f-ing wal-mart server.

Just a few plugins to raise playability would be nice. A nice community with a forum to post on would be awesome too. A WHITELIST WOULD BE GREAT

    Anyone have anything for me?

Those are called laser burns I do believe. My first NFS: HP and Halo Wars discs got laserburned. Also, ironic, but one of my kinect games got lsaerburned after my friends and I jumped hard enough that it shook the xbox, and the game. xD

Eh no. These days most programs support gpu accelerated rendering meaning that you can use the graphics card to render videos now. Any mid range grapics card will beat the snot out of an i7 in rendering making them now pointless for rendering purposes. For server hosting you should be doing it on a dedicated pc. Just get some 80gb pata drive, basic p4 and 1-2gb of ram and install ubuntu on it. Such a system can run an mc server for up to a dozen people. If you want more get better parts. It is always a pain in the ass hosting servers on your main pc, trust me.

This. it will max every game. Maybe drop the ram down to 8gb.

60 bucks for 16GB is great. No reason not to, considering his main purpose is to play, record, edit, and render minecraft vids.

Given how Ballmer likes to get drunk off his ass a lot, I'd wager the board of directors has a higher say than he does.

Wait, Ballmer is an alchoholic? Haha how have I not heard about this?!

I would suggest posting what you have completed. A concept cannot and will not become a game if you, as the "lead" individual cannot code yourself. As small of a group as you will have, it is critical that you learn to code. You aren't funded, just in case you didn't notice. Also, you obviously have the time, so I would learn quick media-creation skills.

I would suggest learning a language, getting your concept solidified, and make a quick demo showing your work, and the direction of the project. This shows us that you have initiative, and are not just another twelve year old with none.

    Yeah, thanks Mr. Moralist.

CPU is overpriced, bad CPU cooler, bad GPU, bad case, bad PSU, bad mobo (well, not necessarily BAD, but he should get a better one), and overpriced optical drive.

Not quite what "Mr. Moralist" meant exactly. Explain why that cpu cooler is bad. Tell him what he can get as an alternative. OR if he even needs one.
So he can learn form his mistakes. Simple stuff, mate.

posted a message on What kind of headset/headphones/microphone do you use?
    Quote from ngsizzle

I use the Turtle Beach Earforce Foxtrot MW3 Delta Force Edition. As far as I'm concerned it has better sound quality than most external speakers, but since it's my first headset I have nothing to compare it to. The mic on it is also really good. It's no studio quality mic, but it goes above and beyond the call of duty.

....what you did there.....I see it.

360 is cheaper but the 598 + MM combo is far superior.

Soundcard is fine but are you sure you need one?

If I'm spending that much on a headset, I might as well make the best of it.
