posted a message on Item Frames vs. Signs for lag?

Yeah, I went through that same process! I don't want to swap everything, because as it is, sometimes the signs seem to be physically glitching or tweaking. I would hate to remove all the item frames, only to find the lag is still there because of the signs.

posted a message on Item Frames vs. Signs for lag?

I have essentially made chests with item frames for almost every item in the game - there is lag. If I replaced the item frames with signs, would there be as much lag. Again, there will be A LOT of whatever labeling object I use.

there is that weird "chunk difficulty" stuff where the longer you are in a chunk, the harder the mobs will be (armor). I guess just wait longer?

posted a message on Lots of crashing after update
Since the update I have had issues with the game crashing while I am mining. It is primarily in a new area that I have started strip mining, and has not occurred too much in other parts of my world, such as areas with a lot of redstone or structures I have made.

posted a message on Minecraft Xbox One Edition: Official Bugs List [CU9]
I have had issues where I get stuck in the air around where I am building or have recently removed a block. This "stuckness" behaves like falling in through a web, but there are not pieces around that I am in. My character bounces up and down for around 30 seconds to a minute before he finally falls through this glitched spot. This has occurred when mining, building with cobble/stone pieces, and standing on chests.

There is also extreme choppiness in an area I built that uses redstone, chests, and itemframes (this seems to be an pre-existing issue though).

posted a message on can't find my stronghold eyes lead to nothing
Mine did something similar to that. I had to do a lot of exploring all around where the eye landed just to find the stronghold - then even more in-depth exploring to find the portal. I can't imagine trying to find a stronghold 100% in survival.

posted a message on "Infinite" storage chest system?
I was planning on making a youtube video of my system, in addition to a how-to video, but I can just invite you instead. I don't really have tons of time to try editing a video, practicing the dialogue, and addign dub-step to the intro....

posted a message on "Infinite" storage chest system?
I guess I should have mentioned I am working towards building a "castle" of sorts that focuses on density, not mass size. Currently, I am working just under the surface of where my "industry" quarter resides, so width/length have already been determined.

I have come up with a system but have some timing issues to tweak, in addition to rigging the redstone mechanics to update when I return to the chunk/game, so that I do not have to reset the system every time.

posted a message on "Infinite" storage chest system?
As you all know, we end up with a lot of cobblestone. My previous storage system was just a cellar with a ton of chests of this stuff. I even had to begin carving out a sub-cellar to store it all. It was also a pain because I only wanted to be taking cobblestone out of a single chest so that I didn't have a bunch of half-filled chests (of course, I would add to this same chest till it was full, then move on to the next one).

So, has anyone come up with a system that can chain a lot of chests together, that only has one drop-off and one pick-up point (as in, one chest I put new cobblestone in, and one chest I take cobblestone out of). I went looking on youtube, but only found a system that was two double chests, and a minecart chest - so it did not have the amount of storage capacity I am seeking.

I came up with an overly elaborate hopper, minecart+hopper, and a dropper chain, but once the output chest is filled, the system will back up and jam.

posted a message on Screening people to join your world
Does anyone have a decent method to screening people to play in your world? I get lots of requests, but don't fully trust anyone. I know I can turn off autosave, but then it limits the work I can do if people try to grief/troll. Any ideas are welcome!

posted a message on Can we enchant silk touch on a book or am i just wasting my time.
I think I did about 12 level 30 enchants on diamond pickaxes until I finally got silk touch again. It is odd because before I needed silk touch, it would always pop up when I was hoping for fortune instead. The moment I need to harvest ice - nothing.

It is possible - just impossibly rare. I have been trying to do the same thing....now that I think of it, I have only ever had silk touch on one book. Ever. You can find the enchanting distribution/level/item tables online. It seems like it is easier to get it by enchanting a pick axe or whatever tool you are trying.

Whenever I have a particularly stressful day I find mining for hours on end to be quite relaxing.

That is part of what I am looking into. It could be said that the mining invokes a state of "mindfulness" where you are concentrating on the block in front of you, and waiting for what is behind it. Essentially, this is one form of meditation.

It is interesting to note that everyone is assuming that Minecraft would be the therapy. It seems it is important to delineate this if I were to ever actually use Minecraft in the the therapy room.

I agree that the community can be challenging - all video game communities seem to be heading down this road. At the same time, griefing/trolling does indicate some level of empathy, though it is in a negative context. In ruining others' experience, the troll/griefer understands how someone will respond, indicating they know how others would feel if X happened to their world. That in itself is clinical material.

Again, I would be looking to use Minecraft similar to how sand tables are used today in therapy.

Probably, but with a certain custom mob that tells you therapy after you answer what problem you have.

Well my idea is to actually be playing the game with the client (I am actually going to be a therapist). Just as you would with other play therapy, you can play alongside or with the client.
