Looks solid. Your areas look like they'd be a lot of fun to play. If you're probing for ideas, you should join the CTM Community Discord server. Lots of good folk there who are willing to help out, and it's still quite active. (Google for the link )
Stone Cold Stare is not a traditional CTM experience. The map is so incredibly ugly that you will take damage if you stop and stare. Keep on the move, collect the wool, and try not to lose your sanity along the way. Good luck.
I'd be surprised if people did. The community is super active, just not always on these forums, and new projects are constantly in the works.
I feel that the misconception that CTMs are "dead" is a product of how CTMs have evolved over the last couple of years. Half-stack says it very well here: Link
Minecraft has changed, and so have maps and map development. In 2011, the development time for most maps was measured in weeks. As standards and expectations inflated, so did development times. IMO we're all indie game devs at this point. xD
Okay guys, another question, this time more of a personal one (I think)
Once I get a new computer, I plan to make my own CTM map series that recaptures the feel of classic CTM maps like the Super Hostile series.
Would anyone here be willing to give me some tips and tricks to get me started on my future mapmaking career?
My best advice: make mistakes and learn from them. Set high standards, but don't expect your first map to be groundbreaking (or even your second or third map). And above all, enjoy yourself. Creative fulfillment naturally brings about quality and innovation. Enjoy the journey and its many imperfections. The same advice applies to all of game design.
For some reason I got a zip file, so I had to make it into a jar file. Then, when I replaced the jar file under .minecraft's bin folder (a fresh download of minecraft), minecraft got stuck on the loading screen. Could somebody help me?

Good luck with the map!

This is really something else!

Limbo looks like a lot of fun! I love the design of those four towers -- how long did it take to get those chains just right?

If your other maps are any indication, then this should be fantastic!

Intriguing. Number 7 for me! I look forward to seeing the finished map.

I remember when Vechs maps were all the rage...
I'll show myself out.

And then there are those who NEVER release their maps...

I bet you guys don't have a Minecraft update named after your map. (Frostburn, 1.10: The Frostburn Update)
(Definitely not a complete coincidence or anything)
I can't wait for Minecraft 1.11: The Septum Immoriel Update. Then again, I may have to.

Not sure how I missed this over a year ago. What a great concept! Good luck with the minimap -- it looks fun!

This discussion should probably be moved to the "Maps Discussion" subforum, but the craziest use of command blocks that I have seen in a map is in Simburbia, by Jigarbov (http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/maps/2203770-simburbia-city-simulator-like-sim-city-for). It's essentially Sim City recreated in Minecraft. Here's Jig's behind the scenes video:

Not right now, no. Sorry to disappoint.
