not all ores should be able to be made into tools, like the Mese ore in Minetest, you can only make a mese pickaxe with it. And if this gets added, Redstone Dust tools will show up too. Then netherrack and glowstone and maybe even sand or something. That is not what we want or need, and that will make all of the intelligent people leave, leaving an evergrowing horde of noobs who want paper swords.

Charging swords like bows? That's a horrible idea. You would get destroyed by the more powerful mobs like blazes or endermen.
And combat isn't a super important part of gameplay. I see the title as "Minecraft" not "Killeverthinginsightcraft"
Not necessarily; if charged swings are just optional ways to get stronger hits in, then it wouldn't be too bad as long as regular swordplay stays the same.
I'M ONLY GOING TO SAY THIS ONCE. THIS IS THE SUGGESTION THREAD AND I POSTED A SUGGESTION.
Since you're new here, let me just give this bit of advice:
Vague concept =/= suggestion.
If you want your ideas taken seriously, you best flesh out your ideas as much as you can. Where would we get them? What would it do?
Why would we want this? Does this really fit in with Minecraft as it stands?
Ask yourself these questions before posting a suggestion. If you just drop a name or concept without any substance to it, it ain't gonna end well for ya.
I suppose this could be done if the world generator changed the priority of generating Strongholds so it always overlapped other generated structures instead of vice versa.
I am aware people have made several suggestions for the addition of meteorites bearing useful items/materials, most of which have been poorly received due to the implication of random destruction occurring beyond the player's control.
Here's my idea: Falling Stars, which are rare entities that may fall from the sky at night, leaving a particle trail as they fall. Upon impact with a surface, they produce a "shattering" effect similar to the dispersal of a Splash Potion or the breaking of a Bottle o' Enchanting, and drop a "Fallen Star" item. Note that this does not damage blocks in any way. Due to its nature as an item, players will have a limited time to collect the fallen star before it despawns, so if a player was lucky enough to witness the event, it would be wise for him to investigate the crash site ASAP.
Fallen stars could possibly be crafted into 3 Stardust, which could be used in brewing to either create level 3 potions or extended level 2 potions. Might also be able to craft 9 Fallen Stars into Moonstone, which emits a faint bluish-white light that repels/damages mobs.
1. Presentation is actually incredibly important when posting a suggestion. This includes taking the time to write a good presentation text. Not doing so leads to the kind of hostile replies you've been receiving here .
2. Please don't argue with people who reply to you. Suggestions will receive criticism, both constructive and harsh, and you would have been way better off going back to your OP to correct it than getting angry with those who replied to you.

What if the player just sleeps through nights all the time?
What if the player runs out of swords and can't make any more without getting swamped by zombies?
I don't hate the concept of a siege mode, but I think it would probably work best as a separate game mode rather than a random event in Survival.
