So just because I'm new to the forums I can't share my ideas? And if you check my join date and search for my name you can see I did comment on the LB Photo Realism pack by Scuttles (Wonderful pack you should go check it out if you haven't) and I did not argue with anyone there.
I will however stop posting on this particular thread because it seems no one here actually reads my posts before simply going after me rather than taking an objective/non-bias view against the points I am trying to make.
Oh yes and if I was a troll, what you did there would not be the correct thing to do. If I WERE to troll then I could so easily build off of your post. But like I said, i'm not trolling here. I stated my opinion on the texture pack and how everyone was bashing it for reasons that I thought weren't of their concern. HOWEVER, I was met by direct criticism and insults to my person rather than objective viewpoints.

And I do know. I've been in online communities where you spend hours/days/months working on projects and other people simply snatch them up and use them. And it has happened to me a few times as well. As long as the person doesn't claim it as their own then it didn't bother me. And if they didn't give credit, whatever. When I cared enough I would just be all like "Hey, I made this part. You can check out mah stuff here too:".
And so what if we are in an argument on the internet? Arguments happen in every day life and some people make careers off of it. What happens to be part of real life? Oh yeah, the internet. We advance in society by bringing out opposing sides and working to settle things by coming to a compromise. Sometimes it is one person admitting they are wrong and sometimes it is both.

And if they are your textures then I'm not talking to you with this but for those of you who just come in here (who aren't mods) and complain that the guy is using other peoples textures then you need to take a moment to close your browser, open Minecraft, and do something, because you obviously have too much time on your hands.
Also, i'd like to point out that the op is not claiming ownership to any of these textures, and he also stated you can use it or not. It's not like he is trying to make this into a full blown pack that gets updated and used as frequently as other packs out there. There is no difference between him having this online or not, or maybe you would have preferred "Hey, texture a from pack 1 and texture b from pack 3 look good together" in a long list of every single texture he has used? No one would read that.
And for the argument that some packs go through sites that give the original author's money: So what? They are trying to make money off of something they do for themselves in their free time on a game crated by, guess what: SOMEONE ELSE. I feel like the texture pack forums turned from "Hey it'd be cool to share what we did" to "RAWR THIS IS MINE IMA LET YOU LOOK AT IT BUT NO TOUCHY!"
I mean really, is it that important that he enjoys the texture enough that he wants to share it?
And if you are the creator of one of these textures, just make a post or something saying "I made texture a, c, and g so if you liked those come check out my pack!" because anyone interested enough to see who made a texture will be willing to look through the forums to see it.

256 packs are few and far between, but this one is one of my favorite for anything underground. When I'm above ground however, the textures give off a dark feel that just isn't pleasant for creating wonderful structures.
I know this really isn't something you can just up and fix, and there are some people who like it, so all I can say is thank god for the MCPatcher HD fix 2.0 so I can use this pack whenever I go underground and not have to re-patch to go build my structures.
