posted a message on What would you do IF Herobrine was implemented ingame?
Well, it would probably depend on if he's hostile, if he can be tamed or allied with, and where he can spawn.

If he's hostile and can spawn on man-made materials or in the dark, I'd probably have to cover the floor of my base with half-steps, since mobs can't spawn on them. I would then continue to play the game as usual, but I'd probably be a little more wary when exploring dark caves.

If I could ally with him, I would probably make him a room on the ground floor of my house, and at night we would go hunting for creepers and skeletons.

If he's hostile and can fly, I would make a huge base underground, purely self-contained, with an underground pasture for spawning mobs, an underground tree/reed/cacti/wheat farm, and NO entrances to the outside whatsoever.

If Herobrine can destroy blocks, then...

posted a message on Video showing 1.5! (by Mojang)
    Oooooh this is epic.
I wish there was some sort of gradient between snow and rain, though. From the video, it looks like it's just...
RAIN RAIN RAIN RAIN RAIN SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW
    It'd be better like this:
RAIN RAIN SNOW RAIN SNOW RAIN SNOW SNOW RAIN SNOW SNOW
    or something of the like.

Won't it be awesome to just hide in a cave and peer out at the swirling rain while thunder cracks all around you? n_n

    posted a message on [1.3.2] SDK's Mods [v1] *Aug 18th ModLoaderMP Updated*
I have the modified modloader installed, the latest version of SDK's Mod installed, zombe's modpack, and TooManyItems. However, when I open up my item list with TooManyItems, the SDK items aren't there!
The error program turns up nothing, apart from the normal, "Unknown version of Windows!" because I'm running Windows 7.
    What did I do wrong?

posted a message on Notch's new blog post! Discuss!
First off, I'm not sure if I can post this here, so if I can't, sorry! D:

Anyways, Notch posted this on his blog:

    11/11/11

We had a board meeting today, which felt relatively grown up and mature. We had it at a nice asian restaurant, and there was food, drinks and coffee. Carl held a nice presentation, showing the progress of the company, and we discussed and voted about various details on where to go and what to do. The most relevant parts for Minecraft is that we decided to bring in bug fixing into the development method in a more clear way so that people working customer support can add them as tasks for us, and that we finally set a release date for Minecraft.

It’s a bit tricky to really do a release for Minecraft as we keep updating it all the time. For one, the version we deem as the “full version” won’t be very different at all from what the game was like a week ago, and we’ll keep adding features after the release as well, so it’s really more of a milestone when we finally get rid of the Beta label, and some kind of goal for us to work towards. The plan is to be open with this and try to get people to cheer us on as much as possible, but to be open with the fact that the game won’t change much at the actual release day. (It’s more a progress up until that point)

We picked November 11, with the unofficial tagline “us too”.

It’s the same date as a few other games and movies, and the one I’m the most excited about is Skyrim, so that will be a nice reward for me if we actually manage to hit that date!

And, in case you want an update on Minecraft:

We’ve been working on finishing up Achievements and Statistics for 1.5, I ran into some issues with JSON, got frustrated, and added weather instead. Developing new features like that is what I enjoy doing the most, so I ended up covering a lot of ground. There’s periodic downfall (snow in snowy areas, rain in others, nothing in deserts) that make the sky darker, hides the sun, moon and stars, and makes everything wet. Ice grows back in cold regions, and snowfall covers the ground when it’s snowing. During rain/snow, there can be occasional thunderstorms with lightning. I haven’t finished the actual lightning bolt yet, but everything else is fairly done.
Once the stats are done and the weather has been tested through, we’ll release 1.5. I’m guessing this will be next week. The piston mod might get added, but it will not be in time for 1.5.

Here are some excerpts from the post:

    tl;dr:
My god! Weather! We're moving out of beta on the 11th! Also, the piston mod might be added!

    Grar.
I love the mod and everything works perfectly, but I don't know how to drop bombs!
I kept the default hotkey as C, but I've tried putting the bombs in the ammo section, the fuel section, and even as my selected inventory item!
I don't have the spitfire mod, is that required for bombs to work?

    None. I hate dogs.

I like to kill them in game, though.

    o-o
At first I didn't see the 'in game though'...
I do like cats more than dogs irl, but in Minecraft, wolves are HARD to kill, because they like to jump, and they're just plain scary with the red eyes and stuff.

    Dude, I totally did that!
I'm in the hospital right now, and I've had a stroke, too, so I am typing this with my left hand, but it was SO AWESOME!
The fright when I started to spasm!
Then the subsequent cold nothingness stealing up my right side!
    I'm incontinent now, too!

ALL FOR ONLY TEN THOUSAND EUROS FOLKS! COME AND - whoops, gotta change my diaper.

posted a message on FALL IN LAVA. LOSE EVERYTHING.
I went to the Nether to get some more soul sand for my one-way monster traps, and I accidentally hit a pig person while mining the sand. They all swarmed after me and chased me to the edge of a cliff. Luckily I had some cobblestone on me, and I made a thin bridge out over a sea of lava, then deleted the bridge. Most of the pig people swarmed over the cliff and fell into lava, but a few smart ones stayed behind grunting and staring at me. I ate some pork, crafted a new set of iron armor, and took out my bow to kill the pig people. They got mad all over again, and all jumped after me over the cliff. One of them managed to score a hit on me while jumping off the cliff, and I FALL IN LAVA. LOSE EVERYTHING.

    Lava is my enemy...

posted a message on What's the most complex redstone device YOU'VE made?
Purely redstone? A set of locking iron double doors with a 10-lever combination lock and master override. When you open a door, some note blocks play Happy Birthday as you go down the hallway, and then some redstone torches go on around a cake on a table.

Not purely redstone? A complete, functioning subway system, complete with multiple destinations and minecart pez dispenser. I hooker up about 5 of these on one of my SSP maps and it works awesomely.
