    * Election of Mayor
    - Majl Rikas, Jacob Todd and Diestro Hidalgo running
    - Diestro Hidalgo elected by a vote of 8-1-1

    - Council will have private meetings in between public meetings to ensure rapid and effective action on required issues.

    - New Economic Plan proposed as presented.
    - Passed

    - Majl raised an issue of a potential crime involving himself, and unknown woman, Serra and Edmond. As no parties present wished to pursue the matter in court it was dismissed.

    - Carmen raised the issue of un-claimed tents and houses suggesting something be done to make use of under-utilised land. A proposal will be worked on after the meeting.

    - Edric Penrose raised the contact with the 'Mother' and the associated adventure. The idea of reaching and fuelling another ward was raised with the conclusion that it is a worthy, but large undertaking that will take time.

    - Edmond raised the idea of crafting 'stronger' and 'tougher' materials, but with the recipes unknown. Weapons and armour made from these materials could be used by the escorts for the trips to the wards.

    - Edmond also raised the point of a lack of postal service to Braxia to be setup alongside trade missions with the mainland.

    - The Professor asked about potential housing.

    - The idea of a town/colony name was raised with citizens to bring ideas to next public meeting.

    Meeting closed by Mayor Hidalgo.

Have you read and agreed to both the rules and the lore of the server?: Yes

What is the definition of “Powergaming”?: “Powergaming is a style of interacting with games or game-like systems with the aim of maximising progress towards a specific goal, to the exclusion of other considerations such as storytelling, atmosphere and camaraderie.” – though I know you’re more concerned with the element of power-gaming (a.k.a. power-emoting) of forcing actions or effects upon another beyond their control.

What is the definition of “Metagaming”?: The use of OOC information IC or beyond what is reasonable for a character to know/understand.

What is the definition of “Roleplay”?: Playing a set role which differs from the players own personality and skillsets, in gaming it usually refers to playing a set character with their own strengths, weaknesses, goals and code of ethics.

Who can use flymod, X-ray and other such clientsided mods?: I would say no-one, but I’m sure if Notch or Jeb came on flying no-one would care.

When are you allowed to cause the death of another character?: When they agree to it, generally plan (to an extent) this out before hand to make it more dramatic, otherwise let them choose to die. Afterall, people don’t kill people, guns kill people, and there aren’t any guns in Minecraft.

When are you allowed to speak out of character?: ((Hopefully at home and IRL, but on server I’ll stick to my double parentheses, but no smilies at the end (they look awkward) ;) )) ((See?)).

Do you have any previous RP experience, Minecraft or elsewhere? Much. I’ve roleplayed for almost twenty years now, mostly pencil and paper (SR, FS, DnD, MERP etc.) as well as many computer games and several MC servers (most recently as staff on Kingdoms of Terra).

    Character Information

    Name: Diestro Hidalgo

    Age: 37

Class: This man is all class. Oh, right, I mean Swordsman/Craftsman.

Physical description: Slim frame, 5’6” with jet-black hair. Maintains a well-kept and neat appearance. Wears (relatively) costly clothing to go with his arrogant but friendly demeanour.

Screen capture of your skin: http://s12.postimg.org/ovb98whr1/Diestro.png

Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.):

((I’m not sure how multi-cultural the world is meant to be, so I am taking a little leap here. Just let me know if it’s a bit far and I’ll pick a new character or adjust as needed. Sorry for the cliché too. I’m also taking a little liberty into the ethnicity of some of the world powers, specifically assuming Ombria is Spanish/Portugese (afterall Ombria IRL is in Portugal), Guyre being French (as ‘guerre’ is French for war) and Vaerdezzio being Italian (Venetian to be specific))).

Diestro Hidalgo is an (older than he cares to admit) young Ombrian who gets along well with his countrymen and is really overall an upstanding citizen… okay, not really. He has no problem with his fellow Ombrians, but they have problems with him. Diestro was part of a minor noble household, the Hidalgos, and was a well-respected member of society. He is noble in character, honourable to a fault and oozes charisma. The problem is, that when the priests took over, he wasn’t a big fan. As far as Diestro is concerned religion has no place in governance. The new government disagrees.

At first it was just a source of tension, Diestro would speak out against the pervasion of the clergy in governance believing that it corrupts both the government and the religion itself. The new councils lackeys would chastise him, but his noble heritage and strong family kept everything civil with little more than a few slaps on the wrist. When the growing zealotry among his fellow citizens turned xenophobic to the point of a lynch-mob threatening a Braxian merchant family, things went too far.

“Stand down my good men! These here people have caused you no harm nor ill will!” shouted Diestro as he lept in front of the flimsy door that was the only thing separating the mob from the foreigners.

“They’re Braxians! They’d kill us if they had the chance!” the mob rationalised.

“Yeah! Kill the foreigners while we can!” came another shout as the rationalisation became, well, less rational.

“But my good people, these are not soldiers, they are no invasion force. These are the same family that sold you your farming supplies. The very pitchforks you threaten them with came from these people!” came the pleas of Diestro, foolishly trying to use logic on an angry mob.

“Then they must be spies!” came the chants “Selling weapons! They must be invaders!” the family was still stuck here, but reason had clearly left.

“Be calm friends, they are not our enemies. Look, here comes my father, he will explain it to you.” His voice starting to waver until the timely appearance of his (well respected) father.

His father, El Hefe Hidalgo, was an aging man who had acted as mayor of the town for many years. His presence helped to ease tensions… for a while.

“Diestro, you must take this family far from here, help them out of the country while they can still make it. I will settle the crowd.” Whispered his father in the clear and demanding way that comes from years of leadership.

Diestro went inside and told the family to gather their things quickly, explaining the situation to them. As they sorted themselves out he could hear the voices of the mob getting angrier, he looked outside and saw why. A priest had arrived, further fanning the flames of hatred in the mob, turning them on not just the Braxians, but on Diestros father as well. Sensing an approaching climax, he hurried the family out the back and fled with them. The timing was apt, as it turned out the flimsy door and frail body of his father were no match for the hordes rage. As he left he turned to see both smashed and flat on the floor, as motionless as each other. His father had died to protect him and this family.

Diestro spent the next week helping smuggle the family out by taking them on hunting trails that only the nobles knew well, but when he returned things had managed to get even worse. Apparently the priest had convinced his family that his fathers death was his fault, and instead of being welcomed warmly when he approached the manor, he was chased by the guards. The same guards that he had grown up with, that protected him, that came with him on hunts. Diestro was truly a pariah now.

He managed to evade them and also fled Ombria, all of his friends and allies were against him now. He was an enemy of the state and a marked man by his own family. The only friends he had now were the Braxians he had helped escape. It took two months, two long hard months of poverty until he found them, but they could not offer him the salvation he needed. It was not safe to stay here while the threat of assassination funded by his own family stalked after him. Instead, the merchant family organised passage for him to the new lands, where he could be a colonist. It would be tough, it would be foreign and it would be dangerous. But, unlike where he was, at least the dangers in the colonies were not actively looking for him. This is the only advantage for poor Diestro, but all the advantage he needs to right his name and restore his honour.

What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): Diestro is a man of honour and respect. These have been taken from him, but he will do what he can to return that honour.

Strengths (Both physical and personality): The Hidalgos were nobles and while Diestro did receive martial training, his real strengths are in his mind and heart, not his arms. Diestro is a charismatic man who excels at attracting people to him. He is also dead-set gorgeous, that helps too.

Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.): Diestro is driven, a bit too driven by honour and reputation. This prevents him from treating others unfairly (in his eyes) even to his own disadvantage. Furthermore, he over-reacts to slights against his character and quickly loses his temper around zealots and those who pry too far into his family history.

In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)

Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:

(If you don’t mind I combined the first two to make them a bit more interesting).

“Why the frak did you do that Diestro!” he mumbles to himself “You’re a Hidalgo not a gymnast for goodness sake!”

The young Ombrian staggers down the alleyway, clinging to a wall which receives a kick with his good leg.

“Argh! Fraking frak-frak! Stupid wall.” He muttered, but he was really angry at himself. He knew he couldn’t climb, but his pride demanded it when the Braxian bet he couldn’t.

Suddenly a noise caught him out of his own self-loating enough to see two shady figures several meters ahead. He righted himself, trying to hide his injury and gauge the intent of these interlopers.

“’Ey you. Ombrian, give us ya cash.” Spat one of the would-be thieves, his words blunt, but their shining daggers sharp.

“Excuse me?” incensed by such rudeness and lack of honour expressed by this cut-throat. “Do you not know who I am?” He added, before looking to the mute thief of the pair “He must not know who I am.” As if this thief should know, or more to the point, care.

They look at each other oddly, clearly and understandably confused before the first one started to speak: “Huh? I don’ ca-“ before being cut off.

“I am veteran of more wars than you have teeth, I am the juggernaut of Ombria, and I am here to destroy lives and drink ale… and I’m all out of ale.” The rage in his voice turning sinister and foreboding. With the final line he draws his blade, like its master it is slim, but menacing in the dark.

“So come here little mice, take your gold, but it will cost you.”

The mute thief runs, clearly realising it’s not worth risking his life for some cash with the second thief joining him quickly. Which quite frankly is fortunate Diestro thinks, as even without his injury he probably wouldn’t stand a chance against two attackers. Bluff: 1, Brawn: 0.

Your superior asks for a favour you would have problem doing:

“Capture the escaped prisoner sire?” recounts Diestro, unpleased at his latest assignment.

“Yes, yes, can you not do this simple task?” the exasperated captain asks, with a tone of derision.

“Well, yes, of course, but, he was a soldier, I mean, he can fight pretty well from what I’ve heard.” Unsettled by the idea of fighting a very risky battle, not something that really excites Diestro.

“Oh come on, I thought you Ombrians were meant to be tough, or is this too much for you?” retorts the captain, starting to get annoyed.

“Hmm…” ponders Diestro as he hatches a clever idea, and thinks carefully on the wording of his next sentence; “Not a problem sire, the escaped prisoner will be captured.”

The captain looks at him suspiciously given the sudden change of heart, but lets it go.

“Right you two, you’re with me.” Says Diestro to two of the guards on break as he leaves the barracks.

“What? But we’re on break. You can’t tell us what to do!” the first one protests.

Diestro turns on the spot, stares him in the eyes and calmly but sternly says: “Captain Marshall just ordered us to capture the escaped prisoner. Now, I don’t want to do this any more than you, but they are our orders.”

“What? Shouldn’t you be doing that yourself?” The second one pipes up.

“Hey, if you don’t want to do it, feel free to go talk to the captain, but I warn you, he’s not in a good mood.” He adds menacingly before the three of them reluctantly march off. To be fair, while the captain didn’t say to get help, he also didn’t say not to, and if he wanted the job done, this was the best way to do it.

    Character Name: Hrothgar
    Character Age: 34
    Character Gender: Male
Character Race, human/elf/dwarf (or a mix): Dwarf
Character Appearance (Facial features, build, clothing, etc): Long, dirty brown beard (dull red when clean). Tough but ragged utilitarian clothing, black naturally, but stained. Square-set, stocky build with strong arms and back but clearly skips leg-day.

Character Strengths/Weaknesses (include skills/abilities in strengths): Charismatic, muscular, adept underground. Slow, unfamiliar with city-life, perturbed by sunlight.
Character Biography (Must be at least three paragraphs in length, include any memorable events):

Hrothgar comes from a small village, well, warren really, far removed from the civilisation of Redania (culturally more than geographically). A group of dwarves who believed that a small community living a semi-hermit lifestyle is better than dealing with pesky outsiders set up this hole-in-the-ground/village long ago. Those who live there know little of the outside world, equally oblivious to its wonders and diversity as it is un-touched by much of the orc wars. They have lived the same peaceful life (more or less) for decades, seeing no need to contact the outside world… until now.

Living so secluded and unfamiliar with farming practises, they lived mostly off mushrooms, lichen, roots and tubers which are boring, but sustainable. That was until the tailings from the mining began to leach into the soil, slowly degrading the soil quality, reducing yield until it got dangerously low. Now, of course the villagers know nothing of nutrient leaching or soil acidification and have chalked the food shortage to moral misconduct (as happens all too often). Arguments over the exact cause and the moral fibre of the village became purely academic when they realised they simply did not have enough to eat. Enter Hrothgar.

Hrothgar has always been a loyal and hard-working dwarf, trusted by the miners and popular in the wider community, but the philosophical ideals of the village never sat well with him. You see, Hrothgar always dreamed of exploring the world (perhaps that’s why he likes mining – at least there he can explore the caves) and seeing the wonders that abound. Cutting oneself off from diversity and new ideas is only hold oneself back, at least, that’s how he sees it (but dare not tell anyone).

For him, the food shortage is almost a blessing in disguise, the village needs food and cannot produce it on their own. They must seek help from the outside. When he proposed this, he was met with vicious rebuttal about how the moral fabric of their ‘ancient’ society would be torn asunder and lead to the doom of all of them. As food grew more and more scarce, so did the opposition to his idea begin to fade. Eventually he was able to convince enough people that they need to set out and ‘buy’ food from outsiders.

Being a closed off community, they never had any currency, but they did have refined metals from underground which they hoped may be desired by the outsiders. So, a group of the still healthy dwarves set off with Hrothgar and precious resources to ‘buy’ food and return before long. Unfortunately for the dwarves, the brigands ambushed them at night, killing or wounding all the other dwarves and stealing their resources. Hrothgar fled alone, his greatest moment of shame, leaving his kindred to die.

Ashamed, alone and with a heavy burden on his shoulders, he has finally found civilisation, but in order to find salvation he must feed his people. This is his mission, and nothing will stop him from fulfilling it.

    Scenarios:

    1. You are traveling along the roads of Redania when a bandit jumps out in front of you. He claims several of his fellows are hiding in the brush beside the road, and if you value your life, to drop all the valuables you possess.

What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)

Hrothgar is strong, but not stupid. While he may stand a good chance against a single attacker, the risk of injury is way too high. He is also clever and charismatic, and thinks he can talk his way out of this one… hopefully.

Hrothgar: “Several fellows eh? You know, I was never good with numbers, how many is ‘several’ exactly?”
Bandit: “Huh? Wot? Err… six! Yeah, the six toughest, meanest men in the land!”
Hrothgar: “Oh really? Six you reckon? If they are the six toughest men in the land, then what are they doing with you?”
Bandit: “Hey! You take that back! I’m tough, I’ll take you anyday!”
Hrothgar: “Calm down there buddy, no need to act so tough here, I mean, why would you care what I think?”
Bandit: “Huh? I don’t care, I’m jus’ sayin’. That’s all.”
Hrothgar: “See, you don’t need to prove anything, I mean you know what you are, and it doesn’t matter what I think.”
Bandit: “Yeah! That’s right! There’s no-one here to prove anythin’ too.”
Hrothgar: “Oh really? So you don’t have six friends afterall?” he asks grinning.
Bandit: “Wot? Wait, nah, I didn’ say that.” Starting to get flustered.
Hrothgar: “Want to know how I knew they weren’t real?”
Bandit: “Huh, err, h-how’d ya know?” now positively shaking.
Hrothgar: “’cause I’m the toughest, meanest man in the land!” he finishes with a menacing grin.

    2. You are inside a small inn enjoying a tankard of ale when an obviously intoxicated ( -drunk) man stumbles into you. He gestures at you rudely and tells you to watch where you’re going.

What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)

Hrothgar rolls his eyes and gives a sigh of derision before composing himself enough to avoid further inflaming the ‘gentleman’.
“Right you are buddy, I don’t want any trouble.” Hrothgar says calmly, showing his hands in a friendly manner.
“Then watch *hic* where ya goin’ liddle man.” He retorts before adding a chuckle.
Again, Hrothgar bites his tongue and pauses before continuing.
“Tell you what, how about I get you another of what I’m having. Fancy mead?” he says loud enough for those around to hear.
“Wot? Do I look like a bloody elf? Mead? I dun hang out wiv dandy munchers! off!” he angrily replies, incensed at the perceived insult.
Hrothgar draws the mans attention to the now staring people around, again offering politely some mead to the derisive looks of his fellow patrons.
“Stuff ya mate! I dun wanna be seen wiv ya!” he blurts out before heading away from the potential embarrassment.
Hrothgar smiles and orders another ale to the surprised bartender.
“Yer not drinkin’ mead?” the bartender asks with a puzzled expression.
“Mead? You think I was actually going to buy that swine a drink? I just wanted to get him away from me.” He finished with a smile before returning to his previous conversation.

    3. You are at the market when you come upon a stall selling some particularly interesting wares. You decide to buy one, and the owner of the stall names a rather outrageous price.

What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)

“Fifty!” Huffs Hrothgar, “I may be short but I wasn’t born yesterday!”
“Fine, fine, call it fourty, afterall it shows fine craftsmanship.” The stall-owner replies with a sickly fake smile.
“Fine? You call that fine? I’ve seen finer than that at the brothel, and they don’t have all their teeth.” He retorts hoping it doesn’t go over the merchants head.
“Huh? Well then, what do you think it’s worth?” the puzzlement showing that the dwarf’s ‘clever’ remark was perhaps a bit too clever.
Hrothgar examines the item more closely before stating: “There are flaws in the finish, the connection isn’t very strong and the whole thing needs a good polish. I’d say it’s worth ten.”
“TEN?! Are you mad? I would go broke if I sold this for ten. I normally sell it for at least thirty.” The merchant is starting to get flustered.
“I said it’s only worth ten, but I understand that you run a business so I’m willing to pay fifteen for it.” The haggle is getting Hrothgar going, he might even be enjoying in more than the merchant.
“Fifteen is still too low, but I’ll sell it for twenty-five. No lower than that.” Comes the stern rebuke from the merchant.
“Twenty or I’m walking.” Hrothgar snaps back.
“Walk then little man, I don’t need to sell to you.”
Hrothgar simply turns and walks away without a word before…
“Fine! Fine. Here it is, twenty for it.” Comes the merchants voice, submitting (though he’s still making a profit).
“Pleasure haggling with you.” There is more truth in his words than the merchant realises, Hrothgar takes great joy in haggling.

    In-Character Information

    Character Race(Dwarf, Elf, Human): Elf

Character Name(Must Be According To Race): Alavara

Character Biography(Two Paragraphs Please): Alavara is an elf who previously lived in the woods with her extensive family. She is a very good hunter and has really good bow and arrow abilities. She has a strong will and has a caring nurturing nature.
Alavara has lost faith in her race’s warlike attitude towards the world and wishes that the elves and the dwarfs could work together as she believes that they could collaborate together. She made the decision to leave her family and go in search of a new home for people who she felt she could connect with. She came across a small desert town Ahlan run by Hrothgar (my real life friend ClampyCore). She felt a connection with the people of Ahlan and their Muslim way of life and has converted to Islam.
Character Goals: Alavara believes that ones ability to improve the world stems from their experience and learning, thus she aims to explore the world, it’s people and cultures in order to become a better person.

    Screen shot of your skin:

In character Responses(Pretend to roleplay these situations):

A small group of Hired Thugs approaches you And tell You that it is time For you to die.
Alavara would attempt to talk her way out of the situation by trying to determine why they were sent and who sent them and seeing what solutions they can come up with.

A Highway Man Approaches You Demanding You To Release All Of Your Valuables.
Due to Alavara’s nurturing nature she believes that the man is stealing from her because he needs money, because she comes from a wealthy town she hands over her valuables. She then asks the man if he would like to come back to the town to talk to someone at the mosque for guidance towards a better life.

A womans purse is being snatched by the pouch wrangler, what do you do.
Alavara would approach the thief and offer them food and shelter as she assumes they are probably poor, on the condition they hand her the purse that she can return to its owner.

Character Name(Must Be According To Race): Hrothgar Stonesplitter

    Character Biography(Two Paragraphs Please):

Hrothgar grew up in the northern wastes where the terrain is harsh, and life is even harsher. Food was always scarce, and monsters always plentiful. The Dwarves there were always very isolated from the rest of the denizens of the world, and ignorant of the politics that occupied it. Being in such a small community, Hrothgar learned to be hard-working, frugal, and to always have your mates back. The surface was dangerous, and avoided whenever possible, and Hrothgar feels more comfortable with four walls and a cave ceiling above him, than out in the open. While food was limited, living mostly off mushrooms, and timber hard to come by, building with halls in caverns with many tunnels all out of stone was the norm, and Hrothgars favoured way of doing things. On the plus side, living a subterranean existance had it's benefits, many strange ores that could be utilised for all kinds of different purposes, limited only by ones imagination.

Hrothgar had always been seen as a reliable and intelligent Dwarf, more than capable of taking over as clan leader when the time came, so when the 'shroom blight hit and food almost ran out, it was Hrothgar that organised the Great Trek. He led a group of the Dwarves carrying much of the clans wealth in precious ores south toward more civilised lands to trade them for much needed food. Not knowing just how valuable their ores were, they often traded them away much too easily and word got around of a handful of Dwarves carrying great treasures almost unguarded. Alas, one night when sleeping in a cave they were ambushed by raiders who lit a great fire at the entrance killing many of the Dwarves, with Hrothgar escaping narrowly with severe burns to his head, chest and legs (covered by his mining cap and clothes).

Alone in this unfamiliar region with nothing of value except the clothes on his back Hrothgar is determined to do right by his clan by working to gather enough supplies to head back and feed the clan on his return.

Character Goals: Hrothgar gains pride from the success and safety of his people and will do anything in his power to save them.

In character Responses(Pretend to roleplay these situations):

A small group of Hired Thugs approaches you And tell You that it is time For you to die.

"Time to die is it? Strange, by the sun it looks more like lunch time to me." Hrothgar says seemingly oblivious to his impending doom.
"Here, let's have a seat and share a meal, I have some prime pork chops and a bit of mead too."
"Stupid Dwarf! We don't want your petty food, we have come for your petty life!" Snarls one of the men.
"Ahh, you have come for my life? Well, you best get in line, you are hardly the first. See these scars?"
Hrothgar carefully removes his mining cap exposing severe burns to much of his head.
"Those are from the last group that troubled me. But don't feel sorry for me, unlike them, I'm still walking, just as I am now. Still walking past you."
He stares in the eyes of the thug that approached him drawing his large axe.
"and if I were you, I'd keep walking too while you still can." He growled deeply before walking purposefully past.

A Highway Man Approaches You Demanding You To Release All Of Your Valuables.

    "Valuables?" Asked a whimsical Hrothgar.
"Valuables you say? Perhaps you have mistaken me for someone else."
"You see, I am a humble miner, and what's valuable to me is my family and my people - and you're not getting them." He insisted.
"Wha-? You know wot I meen! Ya coin, gimme ya coin!" The Highwayman replied, slightly confused.
"Ah, coin, sure, why not, take it... if you dare." Hrothgars tone getting darker as he drops his coin pouch at his own feet, gripping his axe menacingly.
"Dun drop it. Throw it ova 'ere."
"No, come get it, if you want it."
"I'll stick ya like a pig! I'm warnin' ya!" came the nervous threat of his would be robber.
"Ever wondered why Dwarves like axes? 'cause they can cut through the thickest tree-trunk."
    "Err... so...?"
"Well, if they can cut through the thickest tree-trunk, what do you think they can do to you?" Hrothgar threatened, feinting forward with his axe.
"Err... umm... well... 'ow about we jus' forget 'bout this eh?"
"Yeah, lets forget about this before I tell the town guard where you are."

A womans purse is being snatched by the pouch wrangler, what do you do.

"Hey you! Stop!" cries out Hrothgar, pointing to the thief.
The thief runs off deftly, dodging and weaving his way through the crowd leaving the short dwarf far behind.
"Blast! Sorry ma'am, I was not quick enough to catch him." Hrothar apologises.
"Oh, my purse! It's not your fault good sir..." The woman sorrowfuly replies as she begins to weap.
"It's only a purse, take this coin to help replace your loss."
"It's not that, I have no job and that purse contained all I had left, now I have nothing."
"No job? Well, that's something we can remedy."
"Pardon? What do you mean?" the woman now perplexed.
    "Can you cook?" asked Hrothgar.
    "Well, yes."
    "Can you clean?"
    "Yes, of course."
"Can you start work tomorrow cooking and cleaning down the mine? Us dwarves aren't exactly known for our culinary expertise, and mining gets mighty dirty." he offered.
"Why yes, yes of course! Thank you master!" replied the woman with glee.
"Just one thing." He said sternly "You're your own master, no-one elses."

This looks quite interesting. Can I ask where the server is hosted? I'm in Australia, so EU servers in particular are lag-tastic for me. Obviously I'd like to try it out for a bit first to see if the server is to my taste (and not too laggy), but I would love to help you guys improve it wherever I can.

    Application

    OC

    Ign: ClampyCore

    Age: 25

    Timezone: GMT +10 (Sydney, Australia)

    IC

    Rp Name: Hrothgar Stoneshatter

    Race: Dwarf

Class: ?? Some kind of craftsman

    Skill: ?? See above :)

    Backstory (at least 5 sentences):
Hrothgar has always been a hardy miner and innovative tinkerer, never really caring much for the petty squabling, rumour-mongering or ale drinking of his fellow dwarves. To be honest, he'd rather invent something new than hear the same old stories about a random so-and-so. He'd rather drink in the splendours of creation than endless tankards of beer. A friendly and diplomatic character, Hrothgar doesn't let rumours get in the way of a new friend - after all a stranger is just a friend you haven't met.

Hrothgar has no wife or children, busying himself in his work. He considers himself an honourable dwarf commited to being fair and just to all regardless of their background. Working hard underground has made him strong but slow, impairing his abilities with a sword (or axe), which is fine, 'cause the pick is mightier than the sword.

A little bit about yourself?: I'm a relaxed, friendly Masters student and waiter. I've been playing minecraft for some time now, and love doing co-op things, particularly in some sort of RP context. I recently watched 'The Colony' so this server sounds really interesting to me. I picked Armoursmith due to it's lack of popularity btw, though I do find it interesting.
Pie or cake?: Pie, meat pie (I'm Aussie)

    Character name: Hrothgar

Character age: 43 (or equivalent if using older Dwarves)

    Character Gender: Male

    Character Race: Dwarf

Character Traits: Charismatic, Clever and Caring. Hrothgar is unfamiliar with the existing tensions between Dwarves and other races making him much better at dealing with different cultures.

Character appearance: Long brown beard tied into two in the front (that's all that matters about a Dwarves appearance :P ), friendly smile, wears dark clothing and always keeps his miners hat/helmet on even when above ground.

Character back story: Hrothgar grew up in the northern wastes where the terrain is harsh, and life is even harsher. Food was always scarce, and monsters always plentiful. The Dwarves there were always very isolated from the rest of the denizens of the world, and ignorant of the politics that occupied it. Alone in this unfamiliar region with nothing of value except the clothes on his back Hrothgar is determined to do right by his clan by working to gather enough supplies to head back and feed the clan on his return.

    Example of role playing:
In the central hall of Himnil, Hrothgars underground home town, the locals meet to discuss a pressing issue.
"Sire, the mushrooms are infected with a blight, rendering them poisonous." Explained the elder Dwarf, Kuril.
"'tis true m'lord, my son Regnus is ill after eating them." Wurdu chimed in.
"We must venture to the surface to find new food then, we have no choice." Added Hrothgar, whose comments came with visible unease from the rest of the Dwarves.
"The surface Hrothgar? You hate the surface!" The lord replied.
"Yes I do, but I hate seeing my fellow clansmen and women starve or go ill even more."
"A noble idea Hrothgar, but the surface here is not fertile, and would only feed a few Dwarves." Kuril interjected.
"Then I will travel south to the other clans and trade them our ores for food."
Silence filled the room, the concept of travelling away from Himnil had not been proposed before.
"Look, we need the food, I am willing to risk my life to help the rest of us, the clan comes first." Hrothgar reiterated.
"But Hrothgar, what if these ores are not wanted by the southerners?" replied the Lord.
"Then I will rely on their charity. Either way, I will return with the food that we need."
All eyes turned to the Lord eager yet frightened about this proposal.
"Very well, take the men you need and all of the yellow and red ores we have, and bring back what food you can. We're relying on you Hrothgar."
"I will return with your salvation, or not at all, you have my word on this."
And with that Hrothgar and a group of his best Dwarves travelled south laiden with much of Himnil's wealth and the towns goodwill. Failure is not an option.

Do you have experience role playing? Yes, Pen & Paper (D&D 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th ed, Shadowrun, Vampire/Werewolf/etc., Fading Suns, etc.), PC games (KotOR, Baldurs Gate/Neverwinter, Legend of Faerghail, etc.) and many Minecraft servers.

What do you like/dislike about this thread: It's straight forward, easy to understand, and (along with the website), nice to look at.

Why do you want to play the server? I enjoy roleplaying immensely and this server looks really interesting largely due to it's still small size, friendly people, and open-ended lore, world and environment.

What is meta gaming and powergaming? Using out of character informating in game and 'playing to win' generally by trying to make your character powerful even when it doesn't suit the roleplaying aspects.

Do you agree to the rules? Yes :)

Anything else? I'm Australian, so I hope I catch you guys a fair bit, but hopefully we can get some more Aussies/other Asians on as well :)

If you want excitement, join New Spain, our king is the most diplomatically influential, even in matters not involving his kingdom. We are highly advanced with impressive walls, ships, farms, buildings and workshops. We are a safe distance from the other powers, on great terms with all of them and have plenty of free space to build. We are looking at building new towns, so if you're interested in that, we will not only help you build your town, but protect it from the marauding goblins that roam the lands. Check out the wikia page on our might kingdom and catch a glimpse of our castle.
