Shadowlands is a mod which adds 4 new dimensions, each with biomes and dungeons, there's loads to explore!
The Shadow Forest dimension is a dark shadowy dimension with grey trees and black stone dungeons along with occasional red cactus forests, here you will find the keys to the Glowshroom Forest and Vellium dimensions.
The Glowshroom forest has glowing mushrooms everywhere, but be careful - some of them can move and are not at all welcoming to outsiders. The dimension also has strange stinging Jellyfish, Spore Mines, ghosts and spirits - and of course there are plenty of towers and dungeons to loot and explore.
The Vellium dimension is a bright sunny cheerful place - but do not be fooled - the strange yellow one-eyed beasts which inhabit it are deadly.
The Blood forest dimension is an evil dark place, full of hostile mobs and covered in sharp spikes which without the right armor can tear apart the player, the most powerful bosses in the game can be summoned here - but they're very powerful so make sure you can get back to the altar if you get killed (don't worry they won't despawn)

To preface this, my views do not represent the staff team and are purely my own:
I don't agree with the excessive nature as to how the off-topic rule is enforced. Conversations going a little off-topic is natural and is part of any regular interaction. In the earlier days of the forum, enforcement on this was pretty strict and some of us have carried on with that approach to this day.
I've seen first hand how the heavy-handed moderation has led to many users quitting and leaving over the years and I believe it is one of the key factors as to why the forum is less active today. Planet Minecraft and /r/Minecraft are all very much alive and thriving, so we can't completely attribute the decline in activity purely to Minecraft being less relevant than before.

I like mods that add new dimensions - this one is no exception.
Based on the screenshots, the distinct themes you've got going on for the different layers is really cool!

Depends on what you're using them for.
With regards to gaming and video-editing, a desktop wins hands-down as the superior workstation.
As for school projects, a laptop is pretty much a necessity for me to have for face-to-face group discussions and to work on Google Docs/Slides together.

Mojang made a new blog post about it, outlining some Frequently Asked Questions, so it looks like chat reporting is here to stay.

Having spent 5 years here on this forum, I really enjoyed it, especially when this section was bustling with activity. However, times have changed. For a start, I'm the only OT moderator left on this forum.
With the lack of activity, I think it's time to shut the chat thread down for good. It's kind of a bittersweet moment for me since I used to browse and post in these threads even before I became a moderator.
That being said, if you wish to chat with other Minecraft Forum members about Minecraft (or anything really), you can check out the official Discord for the Minecraft Forum here: https://www.minecraftforum.net/meta/chat
The off-topic section will go on as per normal. I'll be hanging around and moderating OT & Mapping and Modding as well as posting in other sections of the forum.
Thank you guys for everything. It has been a fun ride and I'll see you around.

Lucky you.
Sadly, my encounters with creepers over the years are never funny, especially the few times they blew up while I was next to lava.

I quite like Ender's Game, the book was a lot better than the movie.
