posted a message on Community input for a project

So I've been having a quick look at the some of the mod threads here it appears that civilisation-building is not only a common pastime but also quite popular among the community. So I want to ask people to share their experiences with Minecraft playing civilisation-building mods for a project I'm currently outlining at the moment. It can either be a reply here or if you want a private message, it really doesn't matter either way. I'm not looking for anything specific so you can give me as much or as little information as you like, but my interest in this is; as a modder, how you structured the mechanics in your civilisations, or, as a player, how you built and managed your civilisation, or it could be something totally different that I haven't thought of yet.

The reason why I've made this thread is because I am currently creating a process to conduct a future experiment using a multiplayer server to see if it is possible to create what would be defined in today's modern sociology as a culture or civilisation in Minecraft. Because civilisation-building seems to be popular already I can take valuable information from everyone and use it to modify anything that would not be consistent or useful in this endeavour. Any and all feedback will be highly appreciated, thank you.

At the moment I'm close to finishing The Fellowship of the Ring. The last non-fiction book I've read is The Simpsons and their Mathematical Secrets by Simon Singh. I cannot over-recommend this enough, definitely worth it if you love maths. Otherwise, a great fiction book I love is Circe by Madeline Miller, it's an excellent reimagining of the original mythology of the goddess Circe in Greek mythology.

    G'day, I'm Chris.

I've been casually playing Minecraft since 2012 and enjoyed it the whole time, even though it's all been in peaceful. For the time being I'm doing a little bit of research on the community's history, but I'm working on the abstract for a proper social experiment involving Minecraft.

I'm currently studying at university for a degree in Creative Writing, and have been working on a fiction story since the start of the year. I also have a small blog about my interests in recreational math, science stuff and history. Apart from Minecraft I enjoy gaming in general and music.

Anyway, enough about me. Hello. :)
