Cool mod and clearly a lot of effort on presenting it. I hate it when really poor presentation steals from the video content, and the same is true with too much emphasis/silly stuff in the presenting of something.
In this case the mocked up uber-man voice was almost as distracting as the cockney accents from those two brits that keep doing youtube vids.. almost.

I was sitting here thinking about all that work and what sort of prize was up for grabs and I'm seriously debating if the competition for the $300 'make a beanstalk + castle' competition this month is going to be too steep to bother?

If you do the same thing with IE 64 it actually auto-selects the right download, and you don't have to hunt for it. Each time I re-install windows I have to use IE for this and getting a copy of Chrome, then I can delete the short-cuts. ;p
Anyways today I found the latest version here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre-6u31-download-1501637.html
At the very bottom is the right version for x64 Windows 7/Vista! Viola!
** This link will only take you to the current version as of March 15th 2012.

Doods must have a sponsor or something cause they changed the first prize to a $300 Android tablet with MC pocket edition! I am doing this one for sure now!

$50(~$300) map contest on the NABISCO OT forums and figured I would share the link:http://www.beanstalk...ft-1-2-contest/ (main info - they are updating it now)
The prize money is pretty chumpy-chump, they should be giving out a few copies of Minecraft instead of that $50, that would be a much better way to spread the love!Nix that they are giving away MC Pocket Edition. Someone read my mind?
But meh, it has been a good long while since I have seen any contests and this one is perfect for the new map heights.
Anyone interested in setting up a private MP server and tag-teaming this as a group representing mcforum? Could be a good way to kill the wait for Bukkit and all the other updates and fiddle with 1.2 this weekend?
PM me if you wanna hook up!I'm almost done but if someone wants to help me with detailing and stuff I'd love the help (mostly I need to work on leaves, the cloud maze and some of the cloud layers) and I'd give credits to people that pitched in (can't really share a tablet doods, sorry).0
Now these guys are always getting nerdy, notice the Dwarf Fortress comment in the picture above?
But they actually added a funny caption to that image when you mouse over it. Super creeper love!
Something about seeing how saturated the net is with Minecraft fans gives me a smile?

I couldn't signup to Curse as the UID was taken on here. Took me a bit to realize that I had to convert it and then register. :tongue.gif:
Could just be me? Getting too old for the interwebs? :wink.gif:

You really should edit your post to say you're testing reliability in SMP.. My experience has been that the only reliable launcher in SMP is one that does not count on cart movement. So far the only method I've seen remain functional, even with the carts going invisible, is the door drop where the cart is sitting on the top of the door.
For a compact launcher, it's great and first I've seen, but I bet relying on the carts to be bouncing around is too much for SMP? Could be wrong. :wink.gif:

Did nobody read the wiki? There's clearly been knowledge of light sensing even it's merely a 'hint'.
When a dirt block grows grass it's considered a "block update" just like digging an adjacent block, or running current across an adjacent block.
We know adjacent block updates can be used to trigger fluid flow when placed properly, and fluid flow will disrupt a redstone power line which is all the trigger we need.
So you don't even need a shroom. You just need some grass, you reset the loop manually, but you just use a single chunk of redstone dust vs. a shroom, and grass WILL grow with torch lighting so you could use it to protect your unlit chest rooms.
That aside, this *is* the first time I've seen a darkness sensor.
Here's a screenshot of a light sensor ready to go:
When the top block that is dirt gets grass on it, the water will sever the wire in the hole and trigger the torch to come on. Works fine and easy to reset.
Oh and yes, this should also work with wheat. Each time wheat grows it should be a block update. So if you put wheat where the dirt block is, then it shouldn't release the water until a player enters the chunk and provides light. Which I guess means it's a "player detector". :tongue.gif:

I've had lots of instances where I maintained loads of momentum from a bounce. At one point I was using for a return function before I learned basic loops.
As you've found the striking cart tends to lose it's potential to the struck cart, so the cart that runs back to the door should be the stronger of the two.
What I don't get is your door trick, wouldn't that require a very precise level of momentum to put the cart on the edge of the door each time?

That's a cheat/mod, it's not a default function of the game client to spawn a portal when F4 is pressed. Notch can correct me but F4 hasn't ever been bound to anything by default from my observations and I've been in the game for months.

Okay so we're making some progress, even if it's not yet a solution.
The problem is "Minecraft, when going full screen with F11, from a desktop resolution of 1080p, will switch down to 720p as it's going full screen." ?
When you go back to windowed mode by hitting F11 does it immediately go back to 1080p?
Do any other programs drop back to 720p when you go full screen from 1080p windowed resolution?
Do you have more than one screen or video card?
Operating system doesn't seem to be related right now but knowing that might help?
