Ok. I've been a fan of Single Player Commands for a long, long time. Just I never used the WorldEdit capabilities (since I was such a noob back then).
Now then, does anyone have instructions on installing this through MagicLauncher for 1.6.2? It's a bit more complicated, as Forge has an installer and doesn't show up in the Mods section of it.
Can I just pop this thing in the mods section, put WorldEdit.jar where it's supposed to go and expect it to work? I have the latest Forge build (845).
Tried searching, but wasn't really helpful to me.
You do not need Forge to get SPC to work with MagicLauncher. Unless you are using another mod that requires Forge, I would suggest you use SPC with the Vanilla 1.6.2 Profile.
So I'm stuck with MagicLauncher, since MultiMC isn't going to be updated to 1.6 (not right now anyway). I followed the instructions on the OP to the best of my abilities to get Forge on this thing so I can use OptiFine.
I use OptiFine (and some other mods) with MagicLauncher without Forge.
So I have an issue. Never really had a problem installing mods before. Use to do it manually rather than use a program and any errors I got I was able to fix. Now with 1.6.2 I can't install any jar mods with forge. It just won't run and If I do the jvm argument override thing then it gets to the mojang screen, goes not responding and hangs there. I've tried using magic launcher and I get the same problem. I've always run SPC and forge together. Can anybody help me figure out what's going on?

EDIT2:
If this helps, here's the forge log: http://pastebin.com/bWiMa4gG
It was too big to put in spoiler and code tags.
From your log data:
"java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\Nay\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.6.2-SPC Forge9.10.0.804\1.6.2-SPC Forge9.10.0.804.jar (The system cannot find the path specified)"
When I press Log in it closes down the Magic Launcher and then does nothing
And when I press options it says Version : 1.5.2 when i want to run 1.6.2 :/
Please wrap log file data with the SPOILER tag so it will be hidden by default. It appears that you have not properly configured MagicLauncher. Click the Setup button on the main MagicLauncher screen and make sure you have selected "1.6.2" for Environment if you want to use the vanilla 1.6.2 Profile (Profiles are managed via the default Minecraft.exe launcher).
Got this after trying to load a .jar with Forge installed via the Forge installer.

Make sure you have used the default Minecraft launcher (e.g. Minecraft.exe) to launch and run the newly created Forge profile (1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.804) to allow all needed files to be downloaded. If everything is working, then you should be able to exit and use MagicLauncher. Also, make sure to select the 1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.804 profile in the Environment box when you create your Forge configuration in MagicLauncher.
I swear to god, installing mods in Minecraft hasn't gotten one inch easier since it's release. I almost had a seizure when I looked at the install instructions pdf for SPC and 1.62 + Forge.
I did not try Minecraft before 1.6.2, so I do not know how mods used to be handled, but I have been using MagicLauncher along with these mods: WindowedMode, TooManyItems, SinglePlayerCommands, ReiMinimap, OptiFine, and Unglitch, without any problem (and without Forge or any other mod loader, and without modifying the 1.6.2 jar).
It does, however it does not seem to show up in game. you can find this option in the .minecraft->mods->rei_minimap then you go to the option file and find entities options, set these to true. this should work fine until the option is added ingame again
I'm not sure if you are speaking of the entity radar itself, or the use of icons on the entity radar to represent the mob type.
If you are speaking of the entity radar itself, then it does work great in single player when you enable it with the minimap GUI while in game. There are also instructions in the original post on how to enable this for Survival Multi-Player (SMP) on a server.
If you are speaking of the use of icons on the entity radar to represent the mob type, I do not see any options for that in option.txt. I only see the same options that appear in the in game GUI to enable/disable the radar and specific mob tracking.
not sure if this is a bug or not, but the fly command doesn't work in survival. i see the fly zoom-out for FRACTIONS of a second, but it immediately zooms back in. i repeated it via the chat shortcut (pressing up after doing the command) and all i see is "flying permitted" over and over again, but it actually isn't and i can't fly. "flying disabled" never appears, and this has no effect in creative.
EDIT: quote my comment, i never check unless i receive G-mail about a quote
I'm not sure you understand the definition of "troll". See your own post for an example of "trolling". How does my post help anyone, you asked. My hope is to alert others to the fact that many people are capable of following directions and successfully using MagicLauncher. Some are even using a version of Forge with MagicLauncher. For these people, MagicLauncher is not broken.
I suspect the majority of problems people are experiencing when trying to set up MagicLauncher for the first time are these:
1. They do not realize that they must launch Mincecraft using the default Minecraft.exe launcher for each Profile they create so the game files will be downloaded. Some mods instruct people to create a new profile for mods (e.g. 1.6.2.mods). Forge has an installer that creates a new profile (e.g. 1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.789). Use the default launcher at least once with any new profile to get the needed files.
2. They must select the correct Environment in each MagicLauncher Configuration. On the MagicLauncher setup page, the Environment dropdown corresponds to the Profiles in the default Minecraft.exe launcher. I believe MagicLauncher defaults to "Classic" which does not work for 1.6.2. I think a large number of new MagicLauncher users miss this and do not change it to "1.6.2". Think of MagicLauncher Configurations as a combination of default Minecraft.exe launcher Profile plus selected mods plus advanced options (e.g. Java JVM environment parameters like memory and "-Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true").
3. Forge is a moving target. As I write this, the recommended version of Forge for Minecraft 1.6.2 is 9.10.0.804 and the latest version of Forge is 9.10.0.837. You should use the "Recommended" version of Forge for your version of Minecraft unless you are specifically directed to use a newer version to fix a specific problem (or an older version to avoid a new problem). Use the default Minecraft.exe launcher to make sure your Forge Profile is working correctly.
Your tirelessly long and detailed instructions did not work. I've tried several forge installs on 2 operating systems. windows 7 and windows 8. I performed a format and fresh clean install of both operating system. I've been building systems since the days of DOS, before windows 3.1 was on the market. I know my way around a PC.
I never had a single issue before ML 1.1.6. after 1.1.6 was released it has been broken where it use to work flawlessly. what happened to old days of just adding and arranging mods than clicking login to play Now it takes an endless amount of tweaking for it to error out consistently for days on end.
TL;DR ML use to be easy to use. now it takes endless amounts of tweaking. pages of complaints and errors's about this specific version.
Magic Launcher is broken
Wow, just wow! The only thing that comes to my mind right now is what an ungrateful jerk you are! mrkorb took the time to create very detailed instructions including example screenshots of how he, I, and many other people have successfully used Forge and MagicLauncher together and all you can do is insult him?
MagicLauncher may not be perfect, but it is NOT broken. But even if it is "broken", guess what? YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE IT.
Thank you, mrkorb, for your excellent instructions.

You do not need Forge to get SPC to work with MagicLauncher. Unless you are using another mod that requires Forge, I would suggest you use SPC with the Vanilla 1.6.2 Profile.

I use OptiFine (and some other mods) with MagicLauncher without Forge.
