    You can try to stabilize the rift.

    If my experience is still valid, that's not a good idea. I crashed my world by stabilizing a rift....

    Is it possible that directing 8 stabilizers towards a flux rift crashes Minecraft without any crash log? Just asking

    Ok, so I was thinking about HTTYD and scenes from the second movie with the glide suit and that got me to thinking. Minecraft 1.10.2 has elytra in it. And the dragon mounts mod is open source and claims that when flying with elytra the dragon will glide next to you (I have not tested this myself). So I thought what if the developers somehow implemented a feature like that with the dragons where you can glide with wings and they will follow and glide along with you in mid air. That leads me on to my next idea. Wearing vanilla elytra is very very ugly unless the only thing you are wearing is the pair of elytra. So what if there was a new item/armor piece that could be crafted that was a dragon armor chest plate in the middle of the crafting grid, a Pair of elytra under it, and then maybe some slime balls or something filling up the other 7 slots. (Let me try to demonstrate below)

    H = Chest Plate

    V = Elytra

    O = SlimeBall

    O O O

    O H O

    O V O

    So this would basically craft a Dragon Wing Suit where if you where falling it and pressed spacebar it would activate like elytra and if you where wearing full dragon armor you would look amazing while doing it all the while having your dragon gliding next to you at your side.

    Having slime as glue only screams Icarus for me. Maybe add rope in thecrafting and maybe I'll consider wearing it...

    Jokes aside, it's a great idea. I'd love to see it implemented in the mod.

    Vitrified would mean it turned to a glassy state. So while cool sounding, it isn't appropriate here.

    Reread his comment: he said Vitified, not Vitrified. Altough I do agree that it isn't appropriate, since I believe it should be Visified instead of Vitified.

    They currently do attack polar bears, however smaller dragons can get seriously hurt or die from polar bears.

    Wow, the attention to details... That's amaizing!

    Does Cognitio and Perditio make stupidity?

    I'd see that being more like Nihilism than stupidity (Or whatever the creation of destructive thoughts can be called. We can't study stupidity by using intelligence in the mix, since it's the absence of such cognitive power.

    Redstone dust, maybe, or bookshelves. Perhaps end rods, when the update hits.

    ...Raises the question, does the enderdragon head count as a regular head?

    I don't know if they do. I don't know how common they are. But imagine having to turn this(those) dragon head(s) into thaum-mecanical skulls of stabilisation. A skull with mystical writings and tubes/brass plates/crystals that you have hang near thaumaturgical aparatuses.

    Welp, I need this now.

    Runes, definitely. Nano-anything is seriously out of context in a universe with one-meter resolution. :D That said, I like the idea very much.

    Out of context... Outlandish really! Or, if you were to use the old english term... Eldrich... :P

    I am considering making the gauntlet an off-hand only item meaning you can still have a tool or what-not in your main hand while flinging spells with the off-hand.

    Omg! After so much time, this mod is taking the turn I wanted to see!! That's awesome Azanor, keep on moving on :)

    So I have been toying around with a few ideas (because thinking about TC is about all I have time for most days).

    One of these has been a complete rewrite of TC from the ground up. I'm not just talking Thaumcraft 6.0 here. More accurately it would be Thaumcraft II.

    [...]

    In short: Instead of breaking complex aspects down into simple ones it will work the other way around. You will start out with primals and combine them till you get the aspects you want. Burning items for aspects might not even survive this change - raw primal essentia will probably be gathered for worldgen crystals initially and later using some aura related mechanic. See what I mean with big changes?

    What is your opinion on all of this?

    I currently like thaumcraft as it is, though I'd like to see it evolve a little bit (*cough*alot*cough*). There was talk about a unified vis energy and I liked that too.

    A Thaumcraft II sounds like a great idea since you don't have to shackle yourself to the old rules you've applied in the past. My only fear is the loss of mechanics which I selfishly consider as interesting and "necessary". But, knowing your work, I know that if you decide to take this path, you'll make it work in the end and it's going to be awesome.

    The changes you're thinking about for essentia gathering is one of my fears. From what I see (may as well be a misunderstanding), it looses its realism from gathering it from the environment in favor of more magical mean of doing it. There is no wrong in that, but I have my reserves.

    Anyway, as stated before, whatever you do, you'll make it work I'm sure. If you decide to change the mod as it's known, even if that means shaking the foundations of reality, I'll follow.

    Also,will there be any kind of magic system in the mod?

    I'd personally prefer them to stick to creating epic mobs and mechanics for them, as well as objects related closely to said creatures. I'm waiting on Thaumcraft to update and can't wait to use it along with this mod as I feel it's going to be awesome!

    On the subject of dragons vs. wyverns, I had a magnificent book called "Draconology, the great encyclopedia of dragons" (the title was in french, that's a rough translation...). Even though the book was aimed toward childrens, it had quite accurate information about this beast. Let me tell you, there were a lot of shapes that a dragon could take. In it, there was both the European dragon and the Wyvern. Heck, there was even a dragon without wings or back legs! I think this means that both names are used to describe different dragon species.

    Stop the discrimination, wyverns too are dragons!
