I thought I had the latest version of Forge for 1.12.2, though. As you can see from the screenshot, on the Forge website, I'm on the correct version of the base game. Using your link took me to the same page I got my screenshot from. However, I think I see the problem. In the tutorial video I was using to work on all this (remember, I haven't done anything remotely like this in 7-8 years), he said not to use the "Latest" build, but rather the "Recommended" build because "Latest" was not always stable. I'll try with "Latest" and get back to you.

Part 2: for the heck of it, I went through all my currently downloaded mods and did my best to replace them with their 1.12.2 counter parts (see the first screenshot). However, when I went to run MC (it launched successfully! Hooray!) I got this error dialog. I should be able to take care of ichunutil and teslacorelib easily enough, but given that I have the 1.12.2 versions for both Industrial Foregoing and JEI, how and why is it asking for the 1.14 version of MCF? How do I resolve this?

I'm not totally sure I understand. If I understand what you're saying correctly, you're saying that MC, MCF, and all the mods I'm running must be of the same version. But I'm pretty sure that in AotBT many of the mods are for many different versions of the game. So how is this possible?

I'm getting back into Minecraft for the first time in about 7-8 years, so many, many things have changed since I last played. Right now I'm having trouble loading mods with Forge. I am trying to create a customized Attack of the B Team-esque modpack for myself, but when I load all the main mods (there are some I haven't even downloaded yet), the game crashes (Note that I had been using version 1.14, but I saw that many of the mods weren't updated beyond 1.12.2, so I switched to that). See the first two images. The third is the mod list that I'm using so far. For context, I read a thread from last year where the problem was that all the mods were not a .jar file, but something else. I provided the third screenshot both to prove that my files are all .jars and also to show what mods I'm trying to load right now.

When I try to narrow it down an only load one mod, the game launches, but the mod doesn't show up in the mod list. For example, I've done this with both autoutils and buildcraft. I've thought about going through and testing each mod one by one, but the problem with that is that some mods rely on other mods, such as how ChickenCodeCore relies on ChickenCodeLib (or something like that).

Can anyone help me figure this out?
