I would like to take over the development of this mod, it seems the author goes MIA more often then not. This is leading to much criticism and impatience in the community. I feel that I can update this mod in a much more timely manner and have no problems sharing an open beta of this mod. The development will be a lot cleaner as I won't be relying on a handful of hotheads in a small server to report bugs to me.
I feel that I have so much that I can offer to the community and the best way to do that is pick up this staleware and update it in a timely manner while still adding new features.

There is no doomsday, and RP2 won't be released today OR tomorrow.
I remember it being said that, with any luck, RP would be released within the week. We can dream

...and play without the client improvements or mod additions...
My point is, it will be ready, when it's ready and there's no point cluttering the thread with your pointless complaints.

Did a quick re-texture of glass to see how well leaf sub-blocks work.
A shrubbery. I am now safe from the Knights Who Say Ni!
We are no longer the Knights Who Say Ni! We are the Knights Who Say Iki-Iki-Iki-Ptaaaaang (Ni!)
Oct 8, 2011Hmm... I've been thinking about my cobble generators, and I've just realised that our whole argument for the last few pages is invalid. It is the game that is fundamentally flawed in this case. Think about it. What happens when water meets lava? The water should boil. But it doesn't. Instead it creates cobble which can is much more useful than steam. Here, it is neither EE nor RP that is overpowered, it is the game itself.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

that sounds fine if it comes to the point when i need/want them (i have no idea what they are tbh) i will deal with having both or hack a way in to get rid one or the other (the easyist)
If it could be in a totaly difernt package wouldnt it be posible to just share the rubber? So both make the same end product then if you dont have it but do have ic2 then you can still use you T2 stuff. although i would think haveing it in a totaly difernt package would be the same amount of work as my last sugestion but still.

Honestly I don't really care. That's a step too far in interoperability, sacrificing my artistic goals in the process.
My rubber trees aren't at all the same, and the product of the is also quite different. End of story.
Is eloraam's response not completely clear? What youre saying is like saying that birch and pine trees are pointless. Elo and Al's rubber trees do COMPLETELY different things.

It's already possible to make a half adder in 2 blocks. Just put an AND and an XOR back to back.
I'm making good progress on a 1.8.1 version. Pretty sure I'm going to release it for 1.8.1, come nether or 1.9. Unless 1.9 proves easier to port than I expect, anyhow.
Will the release you're currently working on have RP2 features or will it just be a port of 1.7?
Another note: I love seeing people *shirt*ing their pants about the new types of stairs in 1.8, when RP users could make 36 different kinds of stairs in 1.7 :tongue.gif:

1.3.2 came out MONTHS ago. There is no excuse for a mod considered to be in active development to take this long to update. Even after the Aether came out it was widely regarded as kinda crap.
Aether Mod is made by what, 5 mod authors? Eloraam is working solo and is adding a whole crap ton with the update and if you think about it, redpower adds more blocks and features to the game than aether,
Dec 8, 2012Seriously, guys, you all act as if Elo owes us something. Well, breaking news, we all owe her hundreds of hours of fun we all had with RP, fun that comes from her hard work. I laugh so hard at people who ran out of patience.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Dec 8, 2012i still find it weird how so many people fail to realize that redpower is probably one of the largest mods out there, and that 1.3.2 broke nearly every part of that mod, and that eloraam wants to release the mod when everything is working perfectly, as opposed to a lot of the 1.4.x mods out there that randomly crash your game and don't fully work(for example, runic dust mod currently randomly crashes on world load, inventory tweaks shortcuts don't work properly in windowed mode, one of the mods i have installed causes the game to crash 80% of the time when trying to switch from windowed to fullscreen mode, mystcraft currently causes my server to freeze up for about 5 minutes when trying to create a new age, the damage indicators mod crashes when looking at a thaumcraft wisp, vazkii's mods fail to load, etc etc),Posted in: Minecraft Mods
it's not that i mind about any of those, i fully realize they are dev builds and are therefore not stable, but eloraam has decided not to release dev builds, which i'm perfectly okay with, it just adds to the excitement of waiting to make my frames-based railcraft tank contents swapping system i just randomly thought of making XD
Apr 5, 2012The idea of an igniter is no where near original, its been around for a while. This modder you speak up litterally just picked it up and claimed it at theirs. The item was and probably still is considered a staple of that particular mod. Just because you've done the same is no reason for you to be shamefully acted upon. In the end who has the mod that compatible with everything, doesn't eat 40 million sprites, and 40 million block ids. Oh yeah that's right, that's you.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
In the end of it all its content vs content w/ versatility. That scale is no where near balanced, and your on the "right" side of the scale, the better side, the more freely open side. Besides when you look through the pages of both threads you notice drastic and extensive differences - one of constant trolling, and reverse trollinig - and one of a community people who help each other, the ones who know no better, and have fun and chit chat. I will leave it up to you to decide which is which.
If you want to play that particular mod you have to give up everything, everything that uses the imperial API that enables so many modders to create such amazing mods without the need to worry about compatibility. You end up with the bare essentials and nothing else. Why give up so much just for that mod?
I don't quite understand why we even focus on negativity, sometimes its required, sometimes its not. The internet is one of those places in the universe that we don't need to pay attention to negativity, let's all be happy . With that said, anyone who respectively and constructively criticizes [a mod] should not be chastised, or ignored.
