Well then I just don't understand well enough. Every time I open in the snapshot that crashes it, i'll be able to immediately open it in earlier snapshots and the world chunks will constantly reset.

It's nice to know that solved means there's no solution, rather its acknowledged. But I don't agree on just waiting it out until official or pre release because if at that point it's still persistent, then it would of been a waste of how ever much time I put in from here to then. I read someones comment, forget where I read it, that with the new world generation they're putting in it has a potential to ruin some older worlds. And after just getting this world back after a few years lost on a hard drive in storage, I would rather get an idea of start a new, or continue old sooner then later. But I guess I'll just hope someone can help find some workaround other then some janky mcedit copy and paste project,

Not working correctly, and total world corruption to the point of every time I try, it resets chunks to a new untouched loading format seems like it's a bit more of an issues then just needs polished.

    https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-124016

I saw there that some guy had the same issues, and it was closed and redirected to a following issue that was marked as solved. But I couldn't understand all to well, how they solved the problem. So maybe you can read the redirected article and provide much appreciated support.

Well here we are you finally helped me! Finally! I now have all of my questions answered and my problems are solved! (Unless you know anything of my world corruption issues) it's a miracle. I broke down your "help" reply by reply in my previous comment and they were literally of no help. Each one was just a simplistic answer as if you're were dealing with a technological retard, which I am not. (Always played with 32GB of ram and never once had an issue, but that's an argument for another day) One thing I've done here, is make an ignoramus mistake of not realizing I need optifine. I have no clue as to how a solid and stable 1.12 release could not load the pack, but every snapshot later could, but hey I learned something new. This is literally the first reply you gave me where you actually put a couple minutes of effort in and seem to have solved my issues. Only if you coulda also been the same guy who mentioned that resource packs will load but not display properly due to Block ID changes, you would have been my true hero. Now for what I believe to be the third time, thank you for your effort, and for the first time, thanks for actually solving my issue. Would still love to know how a snapshot could be so much more advanced that it can apparently replace the need for optifine but whatever. Thank you!

I did have a backup. Many many backups, but I'm not ready for the world to either stop getting updates forever, or start a new one. I was just hoping someone might have any answers, or suggestions.

As of that update, my older world, started as of around 3 years ago, will no longer load. Instead, there is a constant stream of crashing.

As for testing, I'd open the world in the snapshots following, knowing it would crash, and would repeat that step a few times over. Then go load it in a snapshot, or update that I know would support it, and every time I noticed more and more of the chunks would be converted, or reset to natural, slowly deleting everything I had worked so hard on. The only sort of progress made in the hours of testing is, that if I take that world backup and put myself in the end before loading in a snapshot that corrupts the world, when loading the world corrupting snapshot, i'll actually be able to fully move around in the end, and when jumping in the portal back to main world, it'll load fine, and after so many blocks, maybe 500 it'll only then crash and corrupt it forcing me to load backup and try again. I'll paste right below the crash report I receive when trying to load back in after a corruption.

For starters, you said don't use snapshots for general play, use "stable" versions. That's thrown out the window simply by the fact that me allocating 32GB of ram is more then enough, but again your "stable" version is the only version not even stable enough to load it.

Secondly you said that I should check the pack description because it could not be for the game version. Fancy thing about that is, minecraft will clearly tell you when it's not compatible for the game version, so me being able to read shoots that one down.

Next you came back with the blah blah about snapshots not being complete updates, but still ignoring the fact, that the "complete and stable" update is having the loading issues at 32gb of ram.

Again with the changes between versions, ignoring that the "unstable and incomplete" version is working, still not bothering to explain as to why 1.12.2 would have issues being "complete and stable". At this point you're still trying to play big boss man who says, don't play snapshot and don't argue, ignoring the snapshot as working the best.

Then came back with telling me it's my computer problem, because you still don't know, or care to know any helpful solutions to my problem.

Then after I tell you that you clearly don't know what you're talking about being the pack isn't "to big to load for my computer" you once again blame the changes in snaphots, ONCE AGAIN ignoring the fact that it's working the best.

Literally the only person to answer with anything that is helpful, or answered anything of my few questions, did so by telling me the BLOCK ID's have changed. Then he asks for the error code to why it's not loading on 1.12, and yet again you try and help, and are literally no help.

Since you don't seem to know anything beyond basic common sense, why are you coming back here? If someone can explain as to why the game will run a resource pack the three different ways, between not loading, loading and working fine, and loading and some textures then great, you simply don't know. DaimeneX was able to identify the reason for them loading, but not displaying, which was due to Block ID's being changed. That's one part answered, but people like you who throw nonsense down "trying to help" are no help. The resource pack clearly isn't the problem as only the "stable and official" 1.12.2 is literally the only release that cannot load it. I don't wanna be rude but you don't need to come back when you don't know much at all about my issues.

That's The line that seems troublesome in the output log. If it'll help I can make a 30 second video of the exact same pack not working on 1.12.2, but all snapshots later it loads perfectly. And on top of that, thank you for the specific reason as to why, didn't know they were redoing block ids.

Once again for you wberosc, that doesn't tell me why 1.12.2 would have issues loading the multiple resource packs, but all the snapshots load them just fine, while most of them just don't display properly. No matter how it's sliced, 17w46a, is a snapshot and is the only one working properly, even compared to the official release.

Oh my goodness man, this is amazing. This isn't amazing just for the amount of caves, but for the mind you must have on you. Such an amazing level of statistics, and as well laid out as you post is, it's kinda mind boggling to see the effort you put in to show this off. Another thing that amazes me about the way this, is that it always interests me how many different play styles people have. I mean the amount of blocks you've taken out with just the diamond pick is utterly amazing. The detail in your post is amazing. Thank you so much for this response. There's such detail and so much to take in, in your post I'll have to read it a couple of times over before I get the full effect of what all you've done, and the detail that you've displayed it out in,

There's still something so confusing about how an official release having performance issues, then the following couples snapshots fix them and everything works perfectly, following by the next and all remaining snapshots, have the proper performance to them, loading all the resource packs requested, but then in game, they don't display many of the properly loaded resource textures.

By stats, I do more so mean the amount of each of the blocks mined, tools crafted, etc. I do understand there's been past issues of stats being reset here and there, but still thought I'd ask. And with my current situation, I've done many hours of testing today and find that the newer snapshots aren't compatible with my older world, which was started around 1.8. Every time I load the world in the last few, it converts a few chunks at a time to the new world creation format, so that might be an issue come the next official release for older worlds.

I really do appreciate you trying to help me, but I don't think you're understand. If they're to big for my computer to handle, then why would those same work perfect a couple snapshots later?

And before the questions of my computer continue, my computer is so much better then anything minecraft could ever be, seeing as this computer is only a few months old, and costs just shy of 5 grand. Main components involved, are CPU and GPU, and 7900x and 1080ti are by far exceeding expectations.

posted a message on Most time consuming projects you've ever worked on?

I recently found an old hard drive I accidentlly left in a computer case that I put in storage. On that hard drive I found the greatest world I ever did that I thought I lost. I figured I wanna share what I did, and kinda compare to others projects.

So if you could, post picture, or a few of your largest projects ever. I mean largest in terms of time spent to create. Maybe give a sorta time estimate, or any other block estimations you have.

My first project is a hole I dug. The start of the idea was based around have a slime farm, with perfect efficiency. Rather then having to light caves, dig every single block and half slab the bottom. Then wanted to expand to have a perfect general mod farm, and a perfect triple cave spider spawn area. Got myself in over my head and quit.

Largest hole I ever dug: https://imgur.com/a/4l8Ws

That hole is about 1.7 million stone blocks, and about 300 thousand dirt blocks: https://imgur.com/a/xGVoq

Next is a basic farm for xp at the time. Not to much after creation, it was broken by an update. But the idea, is go so over the top placing the block, that it looks entrancing, and they have literally no where in range to teleport.

Here's my beautiful enderman farm: https: //imgur.com/a/HK3kH

Some of the block stats for the farm: https://imgur.com/a/Q7L9A
