So yeah, I've been kinda uninspired when it comes to building things in minecraft lately.. Good think I still feel like terraforming! I like mountains, and I thought it would be cool to do a valley surrounded by mountains. It's not done, but this is what I've got so far..

    Overview:

    Ground level:

The tallest peak is around y250, so it's pretty high. The valley itself is probably ~40 blocks higher than sea level. I'm currently deciding how to continue, I think I want to make a bunch of mountains behind the valley or something. And waterfalls.

Anyway, suggestions/comments are welcome! I will be releasing this map for download when I'm finished!

*bumps* Started working on this again!

    Snowy mountain peak biomes ftw

Giant lake at ~110, plus a giant waterfall into another lake.

    More mountains!

I've more or less gotten the terrain finished, the biomes are all correct now and I'm going to be working on trees for a while now.. lol

    Finished!

Currently working on a mountain range. A real mountain range, not those silly "mountains" in the mountain biomes. Anyway, pics:

I'm currently fixing the biomes, so the desert parts will be normal grass. I still have a lot of landscaping to do, but I hope to release a download of the map soon!

For those of you that are interested, you can download the worldedit for 1.2 alpha over at http://www.sk89q.com/. I haven't tested it yet, but it looks stable enough to use, and if you're going to be using the dev version of spc might as well use that too.

I will not be updating this first post with pictures, so check this album out if you want to see every picture I've posted in this thread.

So yeah, I had a topic about this but it seems to have been eaten by the forum or something. 0_o

Anyway, this is my current project, it's eventually going to be a multi-tiered city (I think.. lol), but yeah, this is what I've gotten so far. The first couple screens are in progress screens from the old thread, if you want to see all the pictures check this imgur album.

    Progress screenshots:

    The beginning:

Getting the city center roof finished:

And then on to what I've been working on today.. I started by planning out the next city blocks and then started building some stuff.

Layout planned out and buildings going up:

The underside of the city center, still needs work:

    And a lovely sunset shot:

Eventually I want to have some stuff on the valley floor, I'm still figuring out how it will all work. Any suggestions/ideas/critiques are greatly appreciated! I will eventually be releasing this build for download once I'm finished, so stay tuned!

Also, the map I'm using is a custom terrain I made, you can get it here if you want to play around with it. I'd love to see more builds on this map. :tongue.gif:

..and I hate default textures. :tongue.gif:

Here's a couple screens of stuff I did a few days ago and never got around to uploading, kinda lost motivation. I'm about to start working on it again.

Gardens in the making. You can kinda see the style this city will be, lots of tiers and towers:

Been busy/gone, but I did find some time to work on this a bit yesterday, working on the bottom underneath the city center. Curved stairs ftw.

    Bridge beside the castle:

    Underneath the center:

So, I terraformed this valley the other day, and I was thinking about what I could build in it. After thinking about it at work all day (my job can be boring.. xD), I kinda had a rough idea of what I wanted to build, and a color scheme. I only have a small start to this so far, but I wanted to get a topic going and open for ideas and comments! On to the pictures. xD

    ..well, actually, picture.

This will be the center hub of the city. I'm still working out the details of how how it will all work, but the idea is to have a fairly large city around this hub, with a couple tiers, kinda layered on top of each other. Ground level will be one tier, the valley floor will be another, and then I'll see how it works out from there, maybe adding more levels or partial levels as needed.

Comments and ideas are greatly appreciated, and if you want you can download the map I'm using over on PMC.
