    I personally am running:
    Modloader 1.3.2
    Optifine HD B2 1.3.2
    Reis Minimap 1.3.2
    WMLL? 1.3.2
    TWW UseCount 2 1.3.2
    Inventory Tweaks 1.3.2
    Ingame Info 1.3.2

I always directly install my mods on the minecraft.jar
I do not depend on the MCPatcher, MagicLauncher or any of that crap. I like knowing what is going on with my files.

The only crashes I get are caused by Inventory Tweaks sorting methods. Modloader is working just fine.

If you want it to work properly, do 1 single mod at a time, and install them in proper order. ALWAYS DELETE META-INF as well..

This update forcing a rewrite is probably a good thing, though, Risugami has said before that modloader needed rewriting.

I have to agree, if Risugami does decide to rewrite ModLoader, that would be wonderful. I truly enjoy his work and as I said before, without Risugami, I would never have understood how to utilize the MODs available here. I hold him in very high regards. In no way was I attacking him or his work. :) I can definitely understand the defensive posture, as I did come across in a manner I did not intend. I just enjoy sharing all information, not just a one sided bias. :)
Even still, I find Forge to be a wonderful API especially since it has taken liberty to acknowledge the success and popularity of Risugami's ModLoader. It shows his work has truly had a significant impact on the status of MODs within the Minecraft community. :)

1.3 does a better job at that than Forge ever could

Care to clarify that statement, please? I don't know what you are trying to say...

Well then, obsolete is incorrect terminology. As it is, what you are currently doing is advertising forge/forgemodloader in risugami's modloader thread.

You are correct, obsolete is incorrect at this time. However, the monopoly Risugami held no longer exists.

Sorry, I felt it was adding to the discussion considering Risugami has some healthy competition out there.
I do not partake in picking sides for one developer over the other.
I did not intend to be an "advertiser" but rather provide a second side to the discussion of Risugami's ModLoader and Forge ModLoader Client. I realize I didn't quote the old posts from 10 pages back, but I feel it is rather relevant.

Also, I hate to see all of this crap about harrasing the MOD Authors when they obviously have lives of their own and do not troll the internet for every morsel of data regarding a hobby. To those who have no patience Minecraft has become an obsession and not just a joyful hobby.
Asking them to stop being overbearing is not goin to work and so I want to avoid throwing my hat into the ring by telling them how their actions are negatively effecting the results they seek. I was providing them with the only other alternative to what they are seeking.

Not obsolete for modders like me who don't need Forge's extra crap and are boycotting anyway.

I understand your point, and I applaud your decision based on principles you hold.
I do not support Forge over Risugami because I owe Risguami all the credit for discovering how to utilize and install mods and also his wonderful work.

I say obsolete because for those who utilize ModLoader mods in addition to Forge mods will be pleased to know that unlike Risugami, the Forge team is active and transparent about their work.
    Case in point:
Build #170 (Aug 1, 2012 3:03:12 AM) Timestamp is in PDT

Honestly ModLoader can now be considered obsolete because Forge has decided to either absorb Risugami's ModLoader and rename it or they have built their own version which is named Forge ModLoader Client.
    Check it out here.

can you make recipe book multiplayer compatible please.

Take a gander at this helpful little tweak by our very own Twitch1 on Empire Minecraft (EMC). :)
This will get you the functionality of Recipe Book in SMP.
It replaces the standard book with Recipe Book but you still craft bookshelves with it. The recipe for the book is still 3 sheets of paper, not the single player recipe using book and ink. ;)

Also, for all you impatient folks, you may want to start doing some of your own research into why the modding community has not updated to 1.3:
    Searge@SeargeDP
"The new MCP version has now entered testing stage. We will have to release it a bit later, unfortunately it does not work with 1.3pre"

Searge is the lead developer of Minecraft Coder Pack, the deobfuscater of Mojang's official code. Until they finish their work, the coders of Minecraft mods can not begin their oown work.
Have patience and quit harrasing the coders or they may give up on the community all together.

im using MCpatcher and modloader has worked fine before, but i accidentally deleted it and reinstalled it but it keeps crashing. can anyone help?

    Here is a silly idea:
Restore your minecraft.jar to normal and install the mods in proper order all over again. You are using MCPatcher, that is very simple.
Also, MCPatcher and Forge don't play so nice without the patch.
You need to read the requirements of each of your mods you have installed.
Also, using Forge removes the need for Risugami's ModLoader because Forge now runs Forge: FML (Forge Mod Loader).

    Minecraft Forge
    ReiMinimap
    TooManyItems
    Backpack
    InvTweaks
    Timber

posted a message on Industrial Craft 2 not working with craft guide / recipe book?
This is one of the lines in IC2.cfg:
    # Enable hiding of secret recipes in CraftGuide/NEI
    enableSecretRecipeHiding=true

    Change it to:
    # Enable hiding of secret recipes in CraftGuide/NEI
    enableSecretRecipeHiding=false

and then it works no problem. ;)

Thanks a lot for pointing me to this tweak! No sweat to implement, and works very well!

So in essense this tweak by Twitch1 adds the effect of Risugami's Recipe Book mod as a gameplay function in SMP to the normal book (item 340). I.e. when crafting a book with paper you get a "Recipe Book" (and not just a "Book"), which can be right clicked to see all crafting recipes, or which can be used for crafting bookshelves as usual.

The SMP tweak makes the original crafting recipe for the Recipe Book (one book and one inc sack) obsolete, but that is not really a problem.

Unfortunately none of Risugami's mods, which add new contents (Elemental Arrows, Light Sensor etc) or new functions (More Stackables, Sign Tags etc) are made for the purpose of SMP. The Recipe Book can be tweaked to work in SMP with a small change in the .cfg file on client side (see above).

Risugami's loader/API mods (ModLoader and AudioMod) work with many other mods designed for SMP.

Good to hear it worked out. I will pass the message along. :)

First off, many thanks for developing and maintaining these fantastic mods :)

And then a suggestion: Just like Rei's Minimap has become a huge success for both SSP and SMP players, I would love to see the Recipe Book mod modified to work in SMP, too. It is a very helpful and fundamental feature which really ought to come with the vanilla game by Mojang, IMHO, and since it does not really add any new content as such, it should not be seen as cheating, but merely a help to the user, allowing to get the same information as available in the crafting section of the Minecraft Wiki directly in the game.

I assume that just like Rei's Minimap, the Recipe Book mod could be made to work in SMP aswell (without any extra server side mod installed) if you changed the concept of crafting the recipe book and instead made it display when a specific key is pressed in the client.

(Yes, I have read the FAQ etc and did not see this discussed already) :)

    Keep up the good work!

It does work, check out our tutorial on Empire Minecraft here:
    http://empireminecraft.com/threads/recipe-book-1-2-4-1-2-5-snapshot.5840/

Twitch1 is our mod approval moderator and puts in countless hours of work checking interoperability and compatability with our server environment. He found out how to make Recipe Book appear and function in SMP. :)
