Not much work has been done since the last update, as I have been quite busy, and I don't know when I'll be able to work on any more textures for Crisp... I'll try to finish up the blocks as soon as I can, but no promises that it'll be done by the end of the year.
What's ridiculous is the way you are taking our criticism. If you don't want to take our feedback, fine, you don't have to. We're not forcing you to. But your reaction is very childish. And yes, Minecraft is a world of cubes, but cubes don't necessarily have to look flat. There are many 16x packs with shading as well, it's not just high res packs take my pack, Crisp, for instance. Nobody was telling you to use a larger resolution. Yeah, I can see the appeal of a flat pack, but the appeal and audience for these types of packs is quite limited. The reason that we suggest shading is so that you can improve your pack and reach a wider audience. Again, it's fine if you want to keep this pack flat, but really, the only really successful "flat" pack that I know of is Disco's OCD. And if what you're aiming for is a flat default pack, people will consider this a bucket-fill pack, and those are frowned upon in these forums. If you decide to continue to go with your flat, minimal shading pack, I would strongly suggest that you at least try different shapes and patterns in your blocks. Make it unique and differentiate your pack from bucket-fills.
Not a bad first try, but you really need to add more detail and shading in your textures. I know you may not want to add shading, but trust me. It is 100% necessary for every pack to have shading. Even simple packs.
See, by adding shading, I was able to improve your texture ten-fold:
Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to work on this, due to school/other projects, and overall, I just haven't been inspired to work on this pack much. In addition to this, the thread editor is quite broken at the moment, so I can't really update the thread to the way I really want it to look. Don't worry, I still plan to complete this pack, but you will just need to be patient.
WOW, the extremely rare quintuple post has appeared! Anyways, you think you could maybe take a closer image? I really can't tell what you've changed...
Hey, just wondering, has anyone been having problems editing their threads? Whenever I try to edit mine, it disregards any changes I've made, deletes almost half my thread, and screws up whatever is left of it. I always edit in the BBCode markup if anyone wants to know. This is really strange, and I've been trying to figure it out for hours and haven't found the reason (unless this is an issue with the editor/forum itself?) so any help would be appreciated.
This looks great! Not my style at all, but the quality of your textures is really awesome.
The only eyesore to me are your Diorite/Granite/Andesite textures. They seem to form pattern errors as soon as you use them on larger surfaces. Maybe divide the stone that forms in the middle when you place a 2x2 square of those blocks into smaller bits? That should help.
But otherwise, I really like your work.
Thanks! I'm glad you like it even though it's not your style, and I'm really happy that the quality of the textures shows, as I have been working on this for quite a while. Anyways, I did a quick revision to fix up those patterning errors.
Hey, quick question. Are you planning to add mod support to this resource pack, cuz that'd be cool.
Well, maybe down the road, but I'd like to complete the pack first, so for now, no. No mod support is planned currently, but I may create add-on packs for mod support in the future.

Um... Those are wood planks

So I experimented with shading... or, rather the lack thereof.
Opinions?
