Aren't those doorways in the floor in those movie alien ships just so cool, sucking up their passengers upwards through the door?
Well, I made one in Minecraft
Basically, this is a pimped out simple 8 tnt cannon.
Special features:
-Dispenses water and takes it away at the exact right moment, so no fighting water currents
-Completely survival safe because of accurately times command block that switches player between creative and survival for a split second during the explosion
-Blasts player up into a chamber which opens and closes at the right moment so the player passes through and lands on a platform safely
-Safety two deep water brake held above in case player falls
Note: The barrel which leads to the piston door is optional, it just allows the player not have to control anything while in the air.

What the...?I tried and it happens to me too...but only half the time I try it, and the fake diamond block or fake sand thing doesn't work, the gravel just disappears. I tested in the new snapshot though.I tried it again and those blocks that stay in the air are apparently duped ones, ghost ones, so they will disappear when you relog, and drop nothing, hence updating them with a torch makes them disappear.
Woah this is awesome. It's not like it hasn't been suggested before, but the way you present it is great. Be in charge of marketing or something Support.
There's one thing I don't get though, what does the exception to the exception mean? What do you mean child block breaking the block, how? Does that mean any block?
This is a nice creative idea, and I like it, but wouldn't it be frustrating if you were fighting say say a horde of creepers and you tried to swing/block with you sword and instead ended up placing it in the ground and dying?
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum again...I can't find where to post bugs?
Okay so I was playing on the new snapshot which includes the new Nether Brick Slabs, and I found a really weird bug:
If you place down another Nether Brick Slab on the other and make it turn into a full block, and then middle click (pick block) it on Creative Mode, you get this item which is two slabs stacked on each other. This isn't the weird part, this happens for other slabs too. The weird thing is, when you place down the pick-blocked double slab, it's actually a double stone slab! And it's not just the texture, the whole thing is a double stone slab, even when you pick block it. Mining it in survival mode also gives two Stone Slabs.

You could put a layer of glass, then a layer of invisible bedrock before that layer

You could add both, Light over Bedrock or the other way

I found this weird bug while messing around with zombies picking up items:
The spawn egg he picked up appeared white! This also happens with the lily pads being grayscale, etc. It also happens with all spawn eggs.
