The plugins are not like the "mods" you are referring to. They just change stuff on the server, which is not like new mobs, items etc.
You can find them at the bukkit website though.

If you're using plug-ins, no. But if you're actually using mods, yes, everyone has to have them.
How do I add plugins? Because I would much rather have it where I am the only one who has to worry about getting the mods. My friends that play with me do not know how to do all of that so I would have to talk them through it and i would rather not waste all that time
I was curious because I created a .jar server and installed a mod on there, i did .jar because I assumed if i downloaded the mods onto the server no one else would have to mess with anything on their computer. Is this not the case? DOes everyone need to have the mods installed no matter what? If so what is the point of putting the mods into the .jar as apposed to where minecraft actually is (Roaming/.minecraft). Thanks.
