The ender chest isn't an inventory; it's a gateway to an inventory. You can put multiple copies of this side's gate in the other side, and it won't affect anything. Now, if you could somehow get inside the inventory on the other size, open the chest, and pull yourself through, that would cause some major physics problems, but that's obviously a little outside the restrictions of the game.

I don't care if people cheat. Just don't pretend you aren't cheating, because you are. Keepinventory IS cheating, period. It is a HUGE cheat/shortcut that significantly reduces the risk and difficulty of the game.

If you want to play that way, it's fine. Just don't go around claiming you are legit.

I usually have multiple Minecraft worlds I am playing, and I do have cheats on in some of them, while in others I do not cheat, at all. I even have a couple creative worlds.

And it's still a cheat. But you are welcome to cheat if you want to. Just don't pretend you aren't.

Cheating is breaking the rules of the game; keepInventory is changing them. It would be cheating if you were in multiplayer and you had keepInventory while other players didn't, but when all players are following the same rules there is no cheating. Don't tell me I'm cheating at chess when I'm playing checkers; they are different games, even if they use the same board.

    ^^^

I developed this exact system with command blocks to prevent keepInventory from making my maps too easy where players really wanted it turned on. (my nether survival map Exiled is a good example).

I thought about random inventory loss, durability loss, etc. but it all ended up trolly and if you randomly HAPPENED to lose your best thing as a result it felt worse then the default where you at least had a chance to run back and get it. The system I came up with did the following:

    1. Reset your xp to 0
    2. Spawned you with nauseau for 5 seconds to simulate waking up after death
    3. Applied a slowness effect for 1.5 minutes to make it undesirable to die for the sake of getting home faster (because it's a pain to move slowly and mine slowly).

The combination of losing xp and being debuffed for a minute basically removed any incentive to die for fast traveling and made players still try to actively avoid dying (since xp had good uses on the map) but satisfied the players that were scared of losing the great unique treasure items found in the ruins of the map in fire or lava.

That actually sounds like a really good approach to it; do you think I could get a copy of your command blocks for that?

So is keepinventory. You are supposed to lose things when you die, and then work at replacing them. Don't kid yourself, you are cheating.

So, clearly you care what you think, and you want us to as well. If you actually believed that he could play however he wanted to, you would have just stayed away.

Ah, that must be a Pocket Edition feature. Sorry, but I can't be of much help here; I'm not well acquainted with Pocket Edition.

So, what you're saying is, as an insect, this thing is 2dam small and 2dam fast.

    Huh.

No Support. But thanks for the laugh.

What we deem completed is the work in progress that we find suits us best.

That argument relies on a technicality that skirts around the intended definition of a work-in-progress: a task that is not complete. If your task is near enough to be considered complete, don't label it as incomplete by slapping a "work in progress" on it, because that just confuses people.

But back to the original idea... well, don't know what to say beyond Full Support. Reworking rivers into a more natural form would greatly improve the landscape diversity, and have the potential for some very intriguing build sites.

The funny thing is the guys who were against eyelashes (Waahhh! Gender neutral!!!) are totally fine with beards.

Honestly, I'm against eyelashes because they don't come across well in pixel form.

Just avoid arguing, I'd hate to see this thread die.

I'd wager the argument is actually keeping this thread alive; every post we make here bumps the thread up to the top again for others to see it.

From an earlier post I made:

"Incidentally, I counted since I'm just sitting around waiting for a plumber and you don't feel like checking your facts. Including only my first post there are about 98 supports and 20 partial/supports with comments about gendering or facial hair being out of place."

Please check facts or look for them next time. Restating information, providing extra information, or providing citations is apparently making my posts too long. :)

That's a sixth of this thread, which is not an accurate representation of the total playerbase.

In most other games, these extremely complex villagers would be a welcome addition, filling the world with intelligent and busy life. In Minecraft, players would turn them into machines.

I'd like to point out that I originally thought, "This might work, but only as a mod." Now, with your statement, I can only reiterate that; this kind of thing could only ever be acceptable as a mod.
