You may not be playing on the most recent versions, then. If so, what you're looking for is this:

Forgive my naivety.. but is this still no modded and vanilla survival?

I'm not aware that it ever was that to begin with. There are plenty of people sharing their creative and modded builds here.

Can we please not have to worry about forming compatible mating pairs to breed our animals? I don't want to be unable to raise mooshrooms because every single one on the isand is female.

Once you really get going in your world, you could set up a shulkerbox auto-sorter. Compartmentalizing your stuff into one or two double chests no matter what you have will make storage a lot more compact.

posted a message on [ ] "Useless" Features in Vanilla Minecraft

Alright, since everyone else is doing this:

Poisonous Potato - Useless, but fun to collect due to relative rarity.

Bat - Basically useless, but the noise can help locate caves, and if you make other mobs ride it they look funny.

Endermite -ACTUALLY NOT USELESS! This can be used to make a quick-and-dirty enderman farm by luring the suckers into the exit portal!

Silverfish - Hard to save this one, unfortunately. There are some silverfish farms out there, but they're not really efficient. Good fight in strongholds, though.

Polar Bear - Never seen them in game, and I live in an ice spikes biome surrounded by a map-worth of cold regions. They don't really do anything useful, either.

Llama - Considering that I can literally carry my base around with me in ender and shulker chests, too underpowered.

Snow Golem - Not useless; makes for effective crowd control, and snow blocks are great for scaffolding.

Pig - Sadly, for being one of the oldest mobs in the game, they're overshadowed by cows.

Ocelot/Cat - Nice for pet collectors, but creepers aren't much of an issue at the endgame. Only thing that deters them, though, so could be useful for sorting.

Wolf/Dog - DO NOT DISS THE PACK. THE PACK WILL FIND YOU. Seriously I have over a hundred dogs.

Clock - *snerk* Haven't seen one in ages. Good for decor, but really not worth the price.

    Quote from Paintbrush11»

I have Talk set to Enter and, it's a bit weird, but I have Inventory set to I. When I first played, I had a bit of difficulty remembering what key it was, so I changed it to something I'd remember. I could change it back, but frankly it's habit now.

All the others are set to default as they don't bother me at all the way they are. Even Q. (It's not hard to avoid hitting it, people!)

The Q on my home keyboard auto-presses in some programs. I've noticed it a lot more in GTA, where the radio suddenly comes on for no definable reason, but it's also happened in Minecraft so I remapped it elsewhere.

i started a new world, and noticed some cobble near the surface peeking through the sand, so i dug down about 5 blocks and found a spider spawner, so i torched it up to switch it off until i decide what to do with it, then started making a 3 x 3 mineshaft with stairs in the middle down to level 12 to start mining, when i hit level 12 i opened onto a cave system with a zombie spawner in the corner, so i torched that up for later, that will make a nice villager supply and xp grinder. then i started clearing out my main base room in the cave system and making a 2 block spaced strip mine. all in all, a good start to a world i think.

Spider farms are great for XP, because the hitbox of spiders is such that you can create mutually exclusive passageways.

To fix those pictures, you need to specify the actual image link, not the Imgur wrapper page. If you add .jpg to the end of a single image page, or right-click the image and open it in a new tab, you can get the link for them. For the first one, the album, you'll just have to post them individually.

HOW DID YOU GET CAKE ON SUPERFLAT AND IRON ARMOR YOUR CHEETING BRO

Zombies have iron as a rare drop. Get a decent mob farm and you can rake it in. From there, the only other difficult ingredient for cake is sugar, which drops from witches.

    Not true.

There are three mob types in the end, the dragon, enderman and shulker (which are awesome for shulker shells/boxes).

End gateway portals that take you back to the obsidian platform at the central island are randomly dispersed throughout the outer end islands.

And the end used to be even more "dull" because up until pretty recently there used to only be the central end island. There were no end cities, no chorus plants or fruit, no shulkers (or shulker shells/boxes), no elytra, and you couldn't even respawn the dragon.

The End is actually a much more interesting place due to recent updates.

I'll still be inclined to agree that the outer islands are a bit barren. More end cities would be a terrible idea, simply because it would get too crowded and make elytra too easy to find, but at least a little bit more variation in terrain generation would be nice. Maybe some random bridges of end stone stretching between islands, or even patches of end brick in vaguely structural patterns. Just something to break the feeling of "yet another chorus grove" and mix things up a bit.
