Nevermind, i found the reason: Apparently i can't play that map anymore because its...well.."old" for lack of a more technical reason.
I made it generate a new map..SKY DIMENSION WORKS!
Go and load a copy of the previous map that was in Sky Dimension previous version---DOESNT WORK.
So yeah...if you had an awesome map from the previous version you can kiss it goodbye. Im sure some people could care less but some of us have a bit more attachment to maps we put ALOT of work into....
So..i update Minecraft to 1.4.2. I download and replace the server jar for 1.4.2. I come here, download the newest version of this mod for 1.4.2. for both single and MP. i follow the direcitons for single player..mod works perfectly. I do the same for the server.jar... put in the files from the MP.zip through archive editing, i dont delete meta-inf (it doesnt tell me to).
Load up the skyworld i was playing with freinds in multiplayer...DOESNT WORK.
I've deleted and redownloaded the jar and the mod files 10 times now and multiplayer just doesnt want to freaking work! It doesn't act as sky lands and acts like it's defualt/non-skylands. I've gone in the server properties and changed the level-type to Sky Dimension and it still isn't changing it to sky dimention.type for the map i've been playing on.
I'm clearly missing SOMETHING or this is a bug or -something- cause i've gone over the directions, over and over the past hour, making sure i didn't miss ANYTHING or read it wrong and STILL---my sky dimension multiplayer map is NOT in Sky Dimension mode.

2: You have strange standards of "dullness".
So let me give you a list of what you can do in Minecraft THEN and NOW.
What you could do in May 2009 in Minecraft:
1: build with dirt, stone and shrubs.
2: dig to the bottom of the world
3: spawn "steve" mobs
What you can do Today in Minecraft:
1: Build with TONS of different blocks
2: fight monsters
3: crazy terrain and biomes
4: tameable pets
5: craftable items
6: REDSTONE AND ALL THE **** YOU CAN DO WITH IT
7: Two Dimensions to visit and explore/whatever-- Nether and End
8: Multiplayer
9: MODS
10: make custom skins
11: Literally create whatever your imagination can produce (with a little bit of work or creative mode or mods)
The list goes on..if i could remember every little detail added to Minecraft. So you tell me which sounds "dull" according to that list?
It doesn't feel like Minecraft anymore because nearly all of the changes in the last year have moved away from the mine-and-build aspect of the game. Instead, the changes have basically been rip-offs of Elder Scrolls games. Minecraft is getting to the point where it's just a really bad copy of Skyrim

Personally, Jeb is doing a good job. I like what he's been doing, specially regarding vines (been wanting those things to be makeshift ladders since i saw them.) The Spawn Eggs make for some devious traps for adventure maps.
Well you see...there's a bug in the programming that makes beach terrain show up near ocean/water areas. Incidentally it also makes some rather interesting and cool looking terrain silliness. By the way, did you know JEB WAS WORKING MINECRAFT UPDATES NOW!? *smacks OP*

I found Minecraft back in May 2009 when i saw a video from a friend, Mastasan (or "Carlz0r" as he calls himself these days). 2.75 years later im still playing Minecraft and lovin it. :3
This is very true. The beaches do need a lot of work. It is evident that they follow the curve of the land and therefore in many instances are not very flat. It looks like someone decided to dump sand in random spots over the terrain.

Mobs can NOT cross Holes, dig "ditches" in caves to ensure a safe pathway and prevent mob spawns while digging and avoid unneeded fighting/HP loss.
by the way..has anyone figured what cloth and flowers are used for? =s
