First things first, I will not be making this a mod, I am 100% clueless as far as making mods or 3d models goes, so please don't ask if I plan on making this. Secondly, while I highly doubt anyone would want to make this, if you want to (and think you could do a good job on it,) then send me a pm and maybe we can work something out.
Now, let's get to the fun part :Notch:!
Taming: Taming is done by giving a dog food (only raw or cooked Porkchops at the moment) and then proceeding to put a Collar of some sort (probably made of Leather and Iron/Gold) on the dog. Different types of dogs will prefer different types of meat (E.G. Takes 2 cooked Meat or 4 Raw meat to allow the player to tame him/her using a Collar.) Some dogs will also require different things instead of meat (torches, different ores, etc.)
Crafting a Collar:

There could also be a type of collar required for rarer Dogs, this is how it could be crafted:
[]
= Redstone
Behavior: The main purpose of a dog is to aid you in different areas, all dogs will attack hostiles, but will also have unique characteristics and different levels of aggression. Once tamed, a dog will follow you until you either hurt them multiple times (they will run away/attack) or if you right click on them, they will stand where you left them. If attacked they will try to defend themselves, and if they are damaged to a certain degree, they will run away. For this reason, it is a good idea to only leave dogs in safe areas. Once you want the dog to start following you again, simply right click on the dog and it will follow you again.
Types of Dogs:
Regular:
This is the most common type of dog, it will attack hostiles only if you are attacked by them, it will also attack friendly mobs (cows, chickens, or pigs, if it gets close enough.) This dog can be tamed using the regular Collar and 1 raw or cooked Meat.
Stone Dog:
This dog has the exact same characteristics as the Regular Dog, except it has stronger attack and is harder to kill.
Light Dog:
This dog is yellow and black colored, and emits a bright light. It is commonly found in areas with low light(including underground,) but is easy to spot. You must feed it 6 Torches and use the regular Collar to tame it. This is an excellent dog for cave exploration, although it does have the same aggression and health as the regular Dog.
Dark Dog:
This dog is found in dark shady areas, above ground or in caves. This dog can be tamed by feeding it 4 cooked meat or 8 raw meat. If the difficulty is at Normal or above, this dog will attack you until you feed it one meat, it will then stop attacking, allowing you to feed it the additional meat and tame it. This dog will attack all mobs within a certain area, and has very high attack and health levels. Unlike other dogs, if you damage it too many times, it will attack you, instead of running away. It will fight until either it or you are dead.
Fire Dog
This dog is usually found near lava. This dog will attack any mobs near a certain area. When an enemy gets near it's radius it is instantly set on fire and quickly killed. The main advantage of having a Fire Dog is that it will instantly kill creepers, and it's fire starts to grow brighter when enemies are nearby. You must feed the Fire Dog 10 coal and use the regular Collar to tame it.
Mining Dog:
This dog is found underground, commonly near (rare/rare-er ores, Diamond, Gold, Iron, Redstone.) This dog must be fed 3 Iron Ingots and use the regular Collar to tame it. This dog has the same aggression and health as the regular dog. The Mining Dog can dig through cobblestone, dirt, sand, and gravel and coal (coal will not be harvested.) This dog can sense rare minerals from very far away, and will dig towards them. When a rare mineral is found, the dog starts barking to get your attention. You can craft a whistle for when your dog is lost, when you blow the whistle, your mining dog is instantly teleported to you, the whistle only works on Mining Dogs.

I got banned from a server for using MCcheat, yet, not only have I never used MCcheat, I didn't even know what the h ll it was until I looked it up after getting this message from the server: Automatic Ban MCcheat detected
I decided to look it up and found it was a cheat that could be used to stack items at an infinite amount (instead of the default 64). Did the ban thing mess up because I had multiple stacks of 64 dirt (I was clearing up an area to build a house there). If anyone has any clue what's going on please PM me or post on here.
