    posted a message on By the way, I will nerf the endermen block carrying. It was a horrible idea.
    So they kind of look like they came from the nether, why not have them build a nether portal, free nether portal yay?, downside, it ports you to Ghast crowded area, or an Enderman village in the Nether.

    I also like the idea of having them project a dark sphere about them, day or night, mobs spawn all the time, some may wander out into the light and burn, others can attack and be bothersome from inside the sphere. Any torches or light blocks dim out about 70% while in the sphere, fire is not affected, and sphere follows the Enderman

    maybe a delay, so the pistons collapse from top down, this way the piston below would not be pulling an extended piston.

    how to do this is beyond me, I am more of an idea guy - hehe

    I have plenty of glowstone, I will try that, but I like the look of lit netherack -

    cool, I was actually thinking of sticky pistons that face each other vertically. each holding blocks, when extended the wall is blocked, when retracted a 2 block tall shaft is opened. cant wait to try it.

    also, will the pistons move a block with a torch on it? or netherack that is lit?

    I know I could wait till I get home, but that is soooooooo far away, hehe

    havent had a chance to try out, but thought I would ask
    can pistons be placed above you facing down?
    so if they are extended they would come down, and sticky pistons would be able to lift a block up that is stuck to the piston, thus opening a tunnel or cave.

    or would this even be a good idea?

    Actually, why does the original 4-torch work, and why does the 3-torch go all random bursts? Is there any practical way to switch the effect on and off, or slow it down? Is there any more practical use for it than sporadic noise?


    I just used this for my beacon light. I added repeaters to each branch to slow down the blink, but keeps them random - my work is still in design stage, but so far it is working well. eventualy I will add this to the top of my tower, light up my helicopter pad

    try using an existing cave structure, maybe make it bigger if needed. All initial slime spawns I have seen have been in existing caves. The one I use most often was a small cave (obviously big enough to spawn slimes), but it did not have slimes in it when I discovered it. I think it was a couple zombies at first, cleared them, lit the cave to prevent future spawning. couple days later noticed the "splat" sound, when checking and found a bunch of slimes in that cave.

    so, maybe there is a better chance of them spawning in a cave that is not "man-made"

    cacti do half heart damage per hit, so placing a cactus or 2 in a slime room could do the trick. collecting the slime without running about the slime room may be trickier, could do a canal system with cacti flanking a single block opening that drops down and flows the slime balls to a collection point - might work
