I think he is. Are you offended that he's defending the idea?

Seems like a nice trick. It'd be pretty confusing to understand, though. Partial support.

    Quote from KingzofDawn

The world has always been finite, but so vast that it won't make a difference. The actual limit was added to stop idiots from flying off and crashing their game. And this actually has been suggested before, but people didn't actually know how this could be implemented. This would probably be useless though since the world's so big.

That suggestion was made 3 years ago with no replies, no point in necroing that old of a thread. Also, that guy who posted it said "Go West to End up back where you started" sounding like when you reach the edge of the map, it teleports you back to the spawn area, so this suggestion is a bit different.

There ARE some people who enjoy to exceed the world's limits, by the way.

    Big words, I know.

Basically, as the title speaks, Minecraft's now finite world should be changed up a bit. (I believe the latest updates made the world finite after a certain distance?)

From the info above, there are invisible blocks blocking your way at the very edge of the minecraft worlds. The edges of these worlds are very far away from the spawn area, though. So, instead of invisible blocks blocking our path, why not allow circumnavigation?

By that, I mean allow us to travel around the entire world over and over the moment we approach the edge. In english, when we reach the West side of the world, we then are able to continue further, but instead we then end up on the East side of the world. No teleportation required. Both the Far West and Far East sides of your minecraft worlds are connected, as well as the North and South sides, including the Intermediate directions.

It's simple. It's so that we won't come to a halt when exploring the world, but instead travel all across the "planet" without boundaries.

Um... that's my point. I put that there because there are so many people thinking that "Minecraft has swords so it's medieval" and use that as a basis to resist any "tech-based" inclusion like pistons.

I'm not saying to obliterate Emerald Currency just because I think there's a theme to Minecraft, I just think that "Making a sword out of Money" is a bad argument against Emerald Tools, because it's entirely possible to have both be used as currency and tools.

Actually, I think this is kinda related to preconceived notions about what MC is, much like the MC is medieval section.

If you're going to state that "emeralds = money" just because Mojang made them a trading currency, then you'd probably say that "since ancient civilizations used gold in their trading, we should stop making gold into jewelry because gold = money". It just doesn't make sense. Preconceived motions need to be eradicated, or at least managed in idder for something to be improved. Remember when they changed hunger mechanics? There was a huge uproar because people were too caught up in the old system and didn't want to let go of their "hunger >= 9 = free health" idea, but after that, no one really cared anymore.

I'd like to point out that Minecraft isn't medieval, it just has absolutely no theme whatsoever.

But regardless, I think my brain exploded.

Not sure if this was mentioned in this thread, but for Emerald Tools threads, I always see somebody make this stupid statement:

"Yeah, make a sword out of Money! Herp derp!"

In actuality Emeralds have 7.5 hardness in real life, which is not too far away from Diamonds, with a hardness of 10, Emeralds have about the same strength of a sheet of steel or something, which is not even close to being as strong as a dollar bill. So, supported with facts, Emerald tools are NOT Money tools, though people make the constant mistake of posting these statements in Emerald tool threads.

I suggest that you'd consider editing this into the front page. :P

No, seriously, pigs and cows are okay, because they're KNOWN for their food, but this... just no. I understand it's a Chinese thing or something like that, but I bet you would offend a lot of cat owners, and pretty much 80% MC players.

What would make them think its a wishlist? Obviously if they're gonna post a wishlist they won't even know how to distinguish one from another.

Well, you know, if they read the rules.

Those threads can obviously be moved to the sub-forum.

posted a message on Sub-forum for Wishlists
To prevent people from getting frustrated by getting their threads here locked by just posting a Wishlist, I think there should just be a Sub-Forum in this Forum that allows people to post wishlists. This website did so:

    http://www.terrariao.../portfolios.56/

"Portfolio" Sub-Forum was made for people to post wishlist suggestions for Terraria. Why not here?

If someone posts a Wishlist here and not the sub-forum, the Moderators can simply move that wishlist to the Wishlist Sub-Forum, and not lock them like a butthole towards people who'd like to express their full list of ideas.

Seriously, a Sub-Forum for wishlists is a better idea than you think. It's by far the most restricting rule in this forum that makes a lot of people look down upon it. It completely negates the opportunity for people to express their ideas, and pretty much is a pointless rule overall. I'm not saying obliterate the rule, but do something that lets people get around that rule without flooding the main Suggestion forum with wishlists.

Yet iron does many other things other than tools that lead does not, such as armor, rails, minecarts, buckets, shears, flint and steel, iron bars, cauldrons, iron blocks, compasses, anvils, pistons, tripwire hooks, hoppers, and Iron Golems. I don't think people would neglect Iron at all even if Lead was added.

What should I do? Make Lead Pencils? That surely won't be too interesting. I mean, not much is done with Lead, so weapons and tools are the only things I can come up with.

No. Sickles and hoes are completely different things.

Hoes hoe the earth; they till the soil to make it light and loamy for the planting of seeds.
Sickles are used to harvest crops. They have a blade which cuts the stalks of crops, normally cereal crops like barley, maize, wheat etc.
Scythes are similar to sickles however they have a longer and straighter blade and have an elongated handle which makes it useful for people with back problems as well as for the cutting of grass.

    Hoe: Planting.
    Sickle: Harvesting.

I was saying they came from the same tool type, the Scythe type, but if you say so...

They're still both used for farming, though.
