So when you fish, all sorts of particle effects indicate you are indeed fishing. There are little water droplets everywhere and eventually, a trail of bubbles appear to indicate a fish is approaching the bobber. I want to create a texture pack where the bubbles and water textures are modified to provide a higher contrast and improve visibility.
Basically, how do I change things like water texture, bubbles, and the water particle effects from fishing.
I don't think I saw this posted, so I'll bring it up now.
I found this on Reddit. The new employee at Mojang, Ryan Holtz, was introduced at this years Minecon as a programer with specialties in rendering. This is apparently a video posted on his personal YouTube channel regarding tests he conducted with directional and colored light. Is it really Ryan Holtz? I think the general consensus is yes. Does this mean they are working on colored lighting? Maybe he tested it a while back, nothing really concrete about it.
I'm waiting for a relevant opportunity to gain support again. I have not given up and I won't settle for a mod (except for perhaps a demonstration of how it would fit in vanilla Minecraft).
Here is an new statement from Jeb made at Dreamhack 5 days ago.
This reconfirms the previous twitter statements Dinnerbone made that the issue with implementing stained glass as an item alone is currently held up by a technical problem regarding how Minecraft handles transparency. It's not an issue of Mojang not wanting to added stained glass or having it a Mod Only feature. As they are updating the code for Minecraft along with preparing for the eventual Modding API, they will tackle this technical issue and overcome it.
I'm all for placing fences sideways, it's got a million and one uses. and in a game where the purpose of most blocks is decorative, it's a very logical move.
How do you figure? Placing fences sideways has only one use; aesthetics. There is no functional use for doing so, so my assertion still stands. There are plenty of other decorative blocks or mechanics that can be added that look much better and actually give us something useful.
Both servers.minecraftforum.net and the forum server listings. The first one should have a tag under the field "Server Type" for "Snapshot" and for the forums should have a separate sub-forum like they do for "Survival Servers" and "Creative Servers".
It's always irked me that finding a snapshot server has to be such a teeth pulling painful process sometimes. Why can't the server search engine filter by snapshot servers? Now that the new launcher is going to make updating and using the latest snapshots that much easier, it seems like a natural progression for the server list to also make finding dedicated snapshot servers easier.
If this isn't the right place to make suggestions about the server list, then at the very least there should be a sub-forum created for snapshot servers.
I'm glad he made this game and whatnot... It's not half bad... But I'm not really sure if he's deserving of being called the most influential person in the world...
It's a list of 100, I think he can be somewhere on that long list. I consider taking away weeks of my life for a java video game a serious influence.
Ms. Muffin, I have a new link for the OP. I don't think it's been brought up yet. It's not great news, but at least it's an honest conversation on the subject.

Colored light will have to wait, but I'm happy for what we have.
