posted a message on Android recording program?
It depends on your device whether or not a screen recording app will work smoothly. If you have a low end phone, you can pretty much forget trying to record. As for apps to use, ScreenCast will only work on a few devices. You can download the free version here to see if it works on your device.

If that doesn't work, try SCR Screen Recorder. It is a newer app, and works on almost all devices.

Unfortunately they both require root, due to needing elevated permissions to allow for screen recording purposes. SCR recorder works great on my new Nexus 7 while recording 720p video, so if your device is around those same specs (quad core 1.5 GHz) it should work fine.

I am really excited about the new sponge properties. That looks to be a pretty cool addition to the game, and could bring with it even greater automation, as was possible with the slime block.

Hmm that's a good point, but I think it should be fine, especially since we will have larger worlds.
Even in legacy world sizes, there are a lot of ores ( I used PocketInvEditor to measure the amount of ores in a world, and there are thousands of each).

I think one of these per 256*256 block area would be nice. That way they feel relatively rare. The main purpose of this, I feel, is that Tomasso thought the block breaking speed took too long on PE, and people weren't able to build things underground. Now we have huge areas to build stuff.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with that. I just really hope they aren't too common, since that would take the fun out of them and ruin the overall typical Minecraft caving experience. It always makes unique features like this more 'special' if they aren't as common. Its like the Ice Spikes biome in PC Minecraft; its an amazing biome, and an awesome find; however, it is ultra rare, and that gives it a lot more special feeling when you do find one.

It will be awesome to now be able to build better structures underground without having to use external tools. I have tended to be a bit more inactive in MCPE than I would be, due to the more clunky controls and slow creative block breaking speed compared to PC.

    (#MCPEcontrollerSupport.......just saying :P)

Its not a normal cave but an experiment. Some sort of "underworld" that is between 0 and 50. Its not on PC, and I think it's a concept borrowed from terraria.
I would love for some sort of minecraft/terraria combination for future updates, but it seems that will never happen.

    Wut!
Anyway, it's not an exclusive feature because for now it won't be even in PE, but if it was yeah, I guess it would be.
Right now they look kinda bland, but the final plan involved putting some kind of biomes in them. They're underworlds and not "really big caves" for a reason :)
Making new biomes and balancing everything is hard though, especially when we already changed so much stuff, so it isn't for 0.9 I'm afraid!
    ^^
    Tommaso on reddit.
It seems this may come in 0.9.1 and not 0.9.0 as it isn't finished yet. I really hope there are some sort of obsidian dungeons in them or something.

They seem like an awesome idea; however, I hope they aren't extremely common, or generate only in certain biomes. I don't really want to be constantly mining into those (especially since the extra air would greatly limit the amount of ores that could be generated).

posted a message on Hurry Up Mojang!
This would be nearly impossible for multiple reasons. The first is, copying the PC version of Minecraft over to run onto mobile devices would be extremely hard and would require a nearly full game rewrite (essentially what they are doing). The PC version of Minecraft cannot simply run on mobile devices. Android and iOS devices are based upon the ARM processing unit, and PC's are run upon the X86 processing unit. This completely changes the way programs and applications need to be run, and thus cannot run cross platform without heavy modification to work. Also, Java (what PC Minecraft is coded in) cannot be natively run on iOS devices (It does on Android, but works differently than Java programs on PC). Minecraft Pocket Edition is coded in C++ and C++11 in able to work on most ARM devices. Yes, it is possible though to work around these limitations and 'force' full programs to run without much code change; however, it severely limits the performance of the program, and would cause severely low FPS and extremely high device overheating on mobile.

Minecraft Pocket Edition was built from the ground up to work smoothly on ARM devices, and so it will run the best with the lowest power usage and most fluid experience. The developers are working very hard on bringing the features over from PC to MCPE; however, this takes a lot of time, effort, and frustration to properly implement into MCPE. Please remember that coding isn't easy, even for experienced developers, and building a fluid game full of features is complicated and requires much time and dedication. So, instead of demanding the developers to do nearly impossible things, we should remember that it is from their hard work and many hours of frustrations that we have MCPE as it is today.

    Quote from Techius

Well, for not having a bigger height why dont they use infinite chunks to get a higher height? Its not pratical but it would work, would it?

If you mean cubic chunks, that would take a lot of work to properly implement, taking up a lot of development time that is necessary for bringing the game closer to PC. I also don't think that they want to get too far away from sharing some of the code from PC and PE, since that makes development for Mojang much easier.
