I have a game developer friend who sticks by his motto that heavy restrictions spawn the best creative projects. In this case I agree with him.

Could I have a good example of this?

I would prefer mindless spamming to this ridiculous rhythm game. If you're going to improve combat, you have to go all the way and rework the whole system in an intelligent and skill-based way, not just make it a bit slower then decide it's a job well done.

Yeah this is so horribly one-sided. clickkspamm1ngLOL is still in the game, it's just not as effective. Click-till-you-win isn't very fun, and a lot of the same people who wanted combat changes are now turning around and going "ohhhh nooo what happened to my minecraft?!" I'm not a fan of the 1.9 combat either, but I at least understand why we have it. At least we got shields and new attacks with it.

Creepers are the only reliable way to obtain gunpowder; polar bears were straight up dumped in the game without a second thought.

What does renewability have to do with it? The nuggets are completely useless and add nothing to the game beyond an extra item, along with most of the last 4 or so updates.

This I actually agree with. The iron nuggets just copy the gold ones. The last 4 updates weren't useless, though...

Yeah, but the combat update was a bad idea in my opinion

Unintuitive click-spam killing wasn't much better.

Some people want less content in Minecraft. Some people want more. Which one does Mojang side with?

posted a message on Bluetooth Redstone

Bluetooth is probably one of the farthest things from anything Minecraft I could think of. This just makes redstone contraptions painfully too cheap and ruins the whole point/fun of making circuits. That's the whole point of redstone. No support.

Also, did you make another account to upvote yourself..? nevermind

posted a message on Bedrock Armor
    Quote from fishg»

For example, say you’re mining. Why suffer from a 25% slowness penalty when you have a relatively strong set of Diamond Armor at your disposal? You would mine with your Diamond Armor, until you see a series of dungeons and countless mobs charging at you. Now it’s time to switch to Bedrock Armor, where you can take down the mobs with ease.

A first poster who puts extreme detail in his idea? Is... Is this a dream? +1

Sad to say, I don't think there needs to be an armor better than the already super beefy diamond. That's all just too much. Even having iron armor with some decent enchantments can turn the player into a tank depending on how they play. This would be mildly plausible if it was just for Creative Mode, but a full set of diamond armor is far more than enough.

As for the whole 'switching armor' thing. I'm not a fan of that. That just sounds tedious and gameplay-ruining to keep jumping back and forth between armors. It's possible I might avoid bedrock armor altogether because that slowness penalty would make things annoying, despite how strong it is.

posted a message on Should using Silk Touch on a pickaxe be able to break a mob spawner?
    Quote from Merry_Pippin»

A better suggestion would be to have a crafting recipe for the spawner the requires four Iron Bars on the top and bottom middle, as well as the middle of each side, four things representing the mob(String, for instance) in the corners, and a Nether Star in the center. Not too OP when you have to kill a boss to get it, right?

The "you gotta work hard to get this, so it's more balanced" thing doesn't work for an idea like this. Because once you get it, that's it.

posted a message on Hyenas and lions

Both of these mobs feel "slapped-together" in that they got some weird randomness going on. Also, I don't think hyenas or lions would be very tameable. The hyena sounds like it's copying the wolf, and the head bobbing thing with jukeboxes would be so painfully out of nowhere... I also don't understand why lions would decide to protect some village nearby and start acting like Iron Golems..? Even to the point that they're giving flowers away? Why?

That's actually a statement and not an example - the part I was quoting at least. Though a missed the word "might" in there so I admit my bad on that one.

posted a message on customizable iron or diamond armor
    Quote from Cyberrune»

I will not bore you too much on all the details, but I would say this: Each armor would only be able to hold one enchantment and perhaps even take on a design the reflects that enchantment, like a speed enchantment making that armor piece look sleek and made for speed, that sort of thing.

You should never skimp on details when posting here, though the suggestion is still okay. Just as long as you can't change the colors of these armors to fool people into thinking you have a different armor material.

I can agree with all of those points except for the "food hard to get one". That would really blow if you tried to play on an unforgiving seed.
