My favourite time would have to be when me and my friend were clear cutting a forest and the sun had just set.
I went along the cut down forest to collect any saplings or apple. 20+ mobs started following me and I went to lead them into a hole (this was before 1.2). My friend was just watching and the mobs ended up killing him instead.
I have a house in a private server that me and my friend play on. It's underground in a mineshaft. I have 28 legit diamonds, a stack of iron BLOCKS, several gold blocks, a stack of lapis blocks, and tonnes of cobble. The cave/mineshaft system is so huge, it takes me forever to light it up for a mob grinder system, and I find so many resources along the way.
Tunnels wouldn't make sense. Pyramids were made to house the dead and protect them from grave robbers from what I know. Tunnels would make it easy to be robbed. So no to tunnels. Just for a tad bit of realism.
Maybe hidden trip-wires that lead to dispensers with zombie spawn eggs? A spawner doesn't seem to fit with pyramids stereotypically on housing a single dead guy. Plus if you conquer it you get a free zombie to put anywhere....
Like a stronghold? Are you suggesting a full sized pyramid? I don't think Minecraft can generate such a large structure without worldgen bugs.
What? Pyramids are usually already accessable.
Like ender-chests as loot? Sure I guess.
Can't stop creepers. Sorry about that.
Look above for my opinion on mob spawners.
Pyramids actually do have tunnels, and how would that make them easier to raid?
Minecraft doesn't need to be realistic compared to earth. Do you ever look at that mountain in minecraft and think "Boy, that looks off-scale"? No. And planets that generate at 210? I can pillar there in survival with a few stacks of cobble and a few minutes. If planets are ever implemented they will be a in a different dimension, and even then I can't see how it would work.
As for the lighting system re-work, I agree completely. I once made a little skydome enclosure for animals on creative. It casts a huge shadow on the ground.

It can be accidental or during PVP.

Forget the forum post...the name of the server automatically makes me not want to join the server.

I know that, but a creeper is a creeper, and they would have 2 rare item drops if this was implemented.

Jolicraft, for instance, is just a poorly made texture pack in which the creator didn't make the textures tile-friendly.

Besides, minecraft can't add much more dying realism with the current graphics

That would make all those who build large towers rage.

Perhaps zombie pigmen that are in the overworld?

+Zombies would be included with mob spawners
+No idea what you mean by this
+No idea about this either
+Perhaps you should read up on how enderchests work...
-Creepers, no
+Would make it a bit harder...

If you have orebfuscator then it's insanely unfair, but without orebfuscation it still pretty bad.
