Vechs, i just noticed your account on terraria forums, and i started thinking about map-making possibilites for terraria. Will you ever make maps for terraria (i know it's hard, because there are many things you can't control easily such as monster spawn rate, but it would be a true test of your mapmaking skills)?

    >:smile.gif:

I was wondering the same thing...
Sh*t. I can imagine it. Random boss mobs, goblin armies all the time.............

Was flying around Black Desert in MCedit and found a lone brown mushroom near bedrock, in a one block high room, surrounded by lava.

    *monotone* DEPLOYING SURPRISE IN 5...4...
*cough* Anyway, I have decided to post pictures of my various (accidental) screenshots I've taken of your maps. Usually they're born from me reaching for my pick and accidentally hitting the f2 key. There are only ones of Kaizo Caverns and Canopy Carnage because I play those the most.

    KK:

Me getting mobbed by mobs in what appears to be Cavern of Sky.

I reconstructed the beginning of Ilvern Ruins to the best of my ability (you know, the part before the skeleton trap)

    TEH IRONZ.

*laughs insanely* HEHEH, LOOK, IT'S A ROCK! In other news, I have 48 TNT.

    Lightning up the Spine Forest.

My mob zoo at the Victory Monument. Please excuse the flymod, I fell in.

Fending off creepers in the Spine Forest.

I dunno where the eff that is, but I posted it anyway. It's probably me making a bridge to the Gravel Room.

Emerging from the super secret shortcut.

Hiding in the first mob room.

Lighting up the long hallways of the pre-Citadel areas with my vast amounts of fire related items. :VV:, baby, :VV:.

    CC:

Making a bridge up to god-knows-where on my first file.

Showing off my lewt in my second file.

Is it weird that I always play either the Ghostbusters theme or Mission Impossible theme when I'm playing the harder maps?

Vechs, Im sure you would like a brake from all that praise and warm and fluffy stuff from others so... for starters, the complete lack of coast line makes Canopy Carnage a rather ankward design. Forrest floor is like "meh" too, but I understand that one, the beach though is a real disappointment. Also, the area seems to be completely flat... I mean, where are the waterfalls, volcanos and rocky overhangs?

It's completely flat? Awe man I was hoping for an epic forest/jungle covered hill-laden island :sad.gif:

Dude, you're already asking him about the next one?! Chill!

WHY DO YOU ALWAYS MAKE THE VICTORY MONUMENT SUTABILE FOR A BASE?!
(okay maybe not in Black Desert but still)
Oh, and I like how the monument was half blown up.

I'm going to be playing the new version of Canopy Carnage normally, and using the old version for my journal still :wink.gif:.
Any comments on my latest entry, Vechs? (hint: scroll up)

By the way, would you endorse it if I made an official texture pack for this series?

    SUPER HOSTILE – CANOPY CARNAGE
    Journal by Jaxin

DAWN OF THE SECOND DAY – Weather: Rain

Rain, rain, rain. Gah, rain gets annoying.
I swear, if it rains the entire time, I’m quitting the map. RAGEQUIT! RAGE!
I stare at the forest as the sun comes up. First thought: Wow, that’s a lot of trees.
    Second thought: GODDAMNED SKELETONS!
You see, I have a problem with skeletons. I rather suck with a bow, and I would prefer a diamond sword or a lava bucket. Currently, I have neither, only an axe. Anyway, I simply hate skeletons with a burning passion. Enough said. Even creepers are better than skeletons! I am so pro with fighting creepers with a sword.
    GAH RAMBLING MUST STOP! BOOM!
    Zombies.
    Anyway.
Where were we? Oh yes, dramatic sunrise. Third thought: I really hope it isn’t raining over there. Those skeletons MUST BURN!
    Burn, baby, burn.
A fish from the Mo’ Creatures mod swims by. I stare at it. I was sure I turned those off. Oh well. I punch it and get two fish eggs. I throw them away, but resolve to make an aquarium later. In front of me, I see several Titan Willows, a few Flatshelf Pines, and a Skyvine. Wow. Beautiful map, Vechs. (for you FFN people, Vechs is the creator). I’m sick, by the way.
My clock says it’s high noon, but the sky is very gray and drab. It’s bright, but still grey. Kind of like real life. I haul myself ashore and start to explore the jungle. The mighty jungle. The lion sleeps tonight. After pressing f3 and seeing at least 5 mobs in the undergrowth ahead of me, I have second thoughts about this map. I chicken out and start punching down jungle vines, reminding myself that it’s just a game. I axe down some bushes, getting a few pine saplings. What I’m really going for is the ‘roots’ of the bushes, so I can get wood without venturing into the jungle. I throw away all the saplings I get, because, really, who would plant trees in this kind of jungle?!
After deciding that attacking bushes was too tedious, I steady my nerves and venture into the trees. My first enemy? A bloody SKELETON HIDING BEHIND A BUSH. I take my axe to him. He dies in around 5 hits. Not too shabby. I ignore the bone he drops, because, once again, who would want to grow a tree here? With him out of the way, I’m able to attack the roots of the Titan Willow he was near. I check my back, and look behind the tree. All I see is a zombie jumping around, and he doesn’t see me. After collecting 33 wood, I get shot in the back by a skeleton. I run back to the coast, which is where I plan to make an epic wooden house. I refine the wood, getting two and a half stacks of planks, save my inventory, and collect my thoughts. I forgot to mention; there was a patch of soul sand (bleached skulls, I’ll change it to mud soon) behind the tree, in a bright spot. Whatevs. Unimportant.
As I build my 9 by 9 wooden house, a skeleton dies behind a cactus, scaring the sh*t out of me. I see a creeper uncomfortably close by, but he hasn’t seen me yet, so I continue building. Oh, and I see a swarm of rabid piranhas in the ocean behind me. Thanks, Mo’ Creatures. I finished building the bottom frame of my house without incident, but I have my eyes on the creeper. A zombie comes up, and I scoff. Zombies are worthless. I let him live for entertainment as I build my base. Okay, the piranhas are starting to freak me out. I shove the zombie in the water and watch him get viciously killed. For the love of everything holy, I really hope I don’t fall in there. I notice that it only took one hit, so I assume he fell from a tree. Gah.
Anyway, Vechs said that there are often slimes on the forest floor, and I haven’t seen any. I bet I just jinxed myself, but I’m not worried. Slimes are easy to fight. Lightning strikes in the distance. Greeaat. BURN THE FOREST! BURN IT DOWN!
    *cough* Sorry.
I decide that a three block tall house is okay. It doesn’t have a roof… yet. I want to save my remaining 62 planks, so I leave it open to the rain. I’m not under any trees, so nothing can fall on me. Just in case, I put a spiderproof edge to my house.

EVENING OF THE SECOND DAY – Weather: Rain

As I walk around, putting torches around my house, another skeleton dies on the cactus, falling in front of me, once again scaring the crap out of me. I run inside, making a crafting table, door, and putting down the two chests from earlier. I make a wooden pickaxe, and store my sticks, arrows, planks and records in the chest.
    God, I wish I had a bed.
I wonder if there is an underground portion. Those parts are usually my favorite. I make a wooden shovel, and start digging a staircase downwards. There is sand immediately under the one block-high layer of dirt. I frown, wondering why. After the one block-high layer of sand, there is stone. Weirddd… After 3 blocks of stone, I hit bedrock. FUUUUUUU—
With mining out of the question, I wonder what I’m going to do to prevent insanity over the night. I decide that rushing out blindly and scaring myself to death is best. I save my inventory, and prepare to run outside.
Actually, I quite like my sanity. Let’s keep it that way.
Screw it, says the less sane part of my mind, It’s almost dawn anyway, you’ll be able to stop then.
I run into the forest, passing soul sand, vines, trees, and a few skeletons. I get shot, but I continue going blindly forward, hoping to find a dungeon of some sort. It’s hard to marvel when you’re running, but I passes many very cool structures, like tree stumps and Skyvines, which look amazing from below. Rain fell in patches. At one point I turned around to get a better look at a Skyvine, and saw that I was being chased by around three spiders. Fffff…
After running a bit more, dodging tree roots, I eventually lost the spiders. I still hadn’t found anything besides jungle, making this expedition pointless. A creeper exploded behind me, catapulting me into a bush and leaving me at a heart and a half. I’m screwed.
The sun rose behind an Aurum Birch, which was very cool. It’s dawn, but I might as well keep writing until I die.

DAWN OF THE THIRD DAY – Weather: Rain

I came across a giant soul sand patch, which certainly is suspicious, but I don’t want to waste time digging up soul sand. A creeper came out from behind a bush. Greaat. I manage to escape and leave him behind. In front of me is a very weird part of the forest, filled with Queen Spires and what I think to be Shadowhearts. When I walked forward, I was swarmed by 3 spiders and killed. *channels Cartman* GOD-F*CKING-DAMMIT! I load my inventory, and turn off Minecraft. Yes, that’s all the updates you get today.
Oh, and I learned that I spawn on the wooden platform. I really need a bed.

Well, that’s all for today. Hope you liked it, see ya!

As I was one of the select few to catch the link, I have started a journal of my adventures in Canopy Carnage! Thus a way to give Vechs lots of feedback, and to test bugs! Also, I've been wanting to do a journal of a Super Hostile map since Canopy Carnage was revealed.
    HERE IT IS:

    SUPER HOSTILE – CANOPY CARNAGE
Since this may be going on Fanfiction .net as well as the Super Hostile thread, I might as well explain. This is a journal of my adventures in the beta of the Minecraft survival map Canopy Carnage, which is the sixth in the series of really hard maps. Google ‘Super Hostile minecraft,’ as I am too lazy to link the thread. Canopy Carnage is yet to be released fully, and when it is, your version will certainly be different than mine.

EVENING OF THE FIRST DAY – Weather: Thunderstorm

I turned my Painterly on, loaded the map, and turned the theme music on infinite repeat. I looked around, freaked out by the block arrangement of netherrack, glass and glowstone (I supposed it was some kind of destroyed glass dome), and after laughing at the signs for a bit, I beheld the broken Nether portal. I wondered if I could fix it and cause lightning to strike it. Not likely. At least it was a hope.
I turned around and saw the wooden starting area. I made my way down to a little offshoot, and saw this sign:
    PROTIP:
    Watch your step. Seriously.
No kidding. I looked down, and all I could see was the Void (or maybe a vast lake, the rain made it hard to tell), and the edge of the real map. I walked into the starting area, ignoring the signs about graphics, as I had Fast graphics and Normal view distance without running into any lag. Also, it helps to have Fast so you can put torches on leaves. I opened up the Aboreal Guide (since I had forgotten to) and was amazed by how awesome the trees looked. Except for the the Queen Spires. Queen Spires, we’ll settle our differences later.
Anyway, I read the rules (same as always, no rules except for no peaceful), oriented myself with the compass signs, and looked in the chest.
Holygod that’s a lot of stuff.
I explored a little more, letting the stuff in the chest sink in. I opened the man pants chest.
    Holygod diamond leggings.
So I put those on (may I add that my Link skin looks ridiculous with Painterly armor?), and looked in the other chest again.
Holygod… wait, this stuff is useless! ..mostly

    It contained:
6 stacks of arrows (no bow)
    4 saddles (seriously Vechs?!)
    6 cookies (whoopee)
    Both records (hooray)
A clock and compass (both are pretty useless in Super Hostile maps)
2 golden apples (I can taste the unusefulness!)
2 mushroom stews (at least 4 would’ve been better)
    20 torches (yaaay)
and 2 iron axes (which actually is rather useful)

I took the axes (putting one in my ‘sword’ slot [1] and one in my ‘pick’ slot [2]), the torches [9] the mushroom stew and golden apples [8] and [7].
    Wow, I ramble quite a lot, don’t I?

    CURRENT TIME: MIDNIGHT

After glancing at the clock, I wonder how it got so late. I decide to take the clock and the compass too, just in case. I destroy both chests (unwillingly taking all the items). I throw the saddles off the side of the platform organize my inventory, save my inventory with TooManyItems (CHEATERRR! Yes, I know), and look around, wondering what to do next. On an impulse, I jump off the wooden platform, to see if the blue was water or Void. Turns out, it was water. I swim with the squiddies for a bit before looking toward the land. As groundcover, there are small trees (bushes, possibly), pumpkins (watermelons on my Painterly) cactuses, and lots and lots of reeds (set to jungle vines, just for this map). I look up, and see outlines of weird, giant trees. As for mobs, I see two creepers and a skeleton in the distance, and a creeper chilling on the branch of what I think to be a Titan Willow in front of me. Currently, I’m beyond where it’s raining, but it’s still dark due to nighttime. I decide that if I’m going to rush in blindly, I’ll do it in the morning. I swim around for a bit, and realize that there are two creepers on the Titan Willow branch. No probs. Suddenly, it stops raining all together. Finally. It’s still night though, so I swim some more. Oh, wait, the rain’s not over. Eff. I see dawn’s glow in the distance, and I think, Wow, I really haven’t accomplished anything. As I continue to swim, I am amazed by the amount of ground cover, and I think, Jeez, someone get me a machete. The sun rises slowly in the distance.

Soo, yeah, there you go. Next one will be up shortly, I just end them at dawn, thus hopefully the next one will be longer, with less farting around.
