I've discussed it with some other owners of this version of the game and we've all concluded that this game uses outdated code for dungeons in that cat and 13 (the original two records) are the only two obtainable records in Survival mode.
I know the it is not plausible that all records will be obtainable in worlds this small, but some variety would be nice. It's just a shame that survival players are missing out on so many great songs for such a silly reason.
I gotta say, the super mario pack is a great switch freebie. The skins are great and the texture pack is really cool. But I do have one main problem with it: the music.
I mean don't get me wrong, the music is great, and it's perfect for exploring the pre-made Mario world. The problem is, it is hard to tolerate in normal gameplay, especially when you consider the sound design regarding music in minecraft.
The silence that is normally a restful break in the soothing vanilla minecraft results in near-jumpscares (it actually got my girlfriend a couple of times while I was playing with it) with the bombastic intros on the tracks included in the Mario pack.
All I ask is that there be some sort of music pack selection menu, so I can enjoy the textures without having to go musicless. A lot of what I have to say here also applies to the Chinese mythology pack, which I would be happy to buy if the music didn't bring me so far out of it.
I don't plan on making a forge mod. This mod is a very small tweak to the game's code. Making it a forge mod is not in the scope of my modding knowledge, either way. But how about this: give me a list of the mods you're using, and I'll find the offender and try and see if I might be able to make a compatibility patch for it.
Thinking about realism, maybe starvation should be slower as well. Does anyone know a mod for that?
If there is such a mod, I'm somewhat doubtful it would be compatible with this one. I don't think that it would be very balanced anyway to be honest -- starvation's pretty slow already, unless you're constantly jumping around or sprinting.
Considerably Slower Regeneration is simple mod designed to make Minecraft a more challenging and realistic survival experience. It is based off of concepts used in Ultra Hardcore and the No Regeneration Mod; it encourages the use of healing items – the difference is that in Considerably Slower Regeneration, natural regeneration is not removed completely from the game. As long as you are not starving you will regain one half-heart approximately every three minutes. It will take approximately three in-game days(one hour) with no starvation to naturally regain full health from only having one half-heart of health left.
Be sure, you have updated Minecraft to the newest version and there are no other mods installed
(This mod is just tested with a vanilla Minecraft but will most likely work with other mods, as long as they are not using the 'FoodStats' class - just try it out!)
Backup the appropriate version of your 'minecraft.jar' and open it with a packing program
(You'll find the 'minecraft.jar', if you're entering '%appdata%\.minecraft\versions' in the Start Menu)
Remove the 'META-INF'-Folder in the jar and copy the installation files into the jar
Start Minecraft and play
Or use a custom launcher that handles that sort of thing. It's up to you.
I think it would be neat if there was a mode that replaced the bars with the smaller numbers. Large mode is a bit too much for me, but I find the bar superflous in normal mode.
This is like, the best texture pack I've ever used. Seriously. Can't wait 'til it's fully done and you add mod support. What mods are you considering adding support for, may I ask? (hoping Balkon's WeaponMod is one of them >.<)
Anyone got "minecart.mp3" on their disk?
It's the concept sound C418 posted on Reddit for a moving minecart. The original link has vanished from his website, and I couldn't find any mirrors of this file on Google (minecraftwiki points to the dead link on C418's website).
Tried keywords:
"minecart sound"
"minecart.mp3" c418
"minecart.mp3" -last (filtering out "the last minecart.mp3")
and a whole bunch of other stuff
I'm trying to add a Minecart moving sound before release.
Have you considered including an ambient sound that plays when you're near enchantment tables that gets increasingly louder with the amount of bookshelves you put near it?

I'll look into that. If I do so, it will most likely become a forge mod (though I'm not sure most people would mind).

An update would be great -- I totally want to take advantage of the new world height using it
