I know, but I am still surprised at the idiocy that happens with these updates. The cycle needs to stop, because with this much complaining (and I know these types of people are the minority, but idiots speak louder than positives) will ultimately become Minecraft's downfall, by it's own community.
Don't worry, it will never stop. I started playing this game before indev, and it has been this way the entire time. You might as well give up now, because it never ends.
Alright, I think the original point of this thread, correct me if I'm wrong, was to ask if getting the PC version was worth it while you already own the Xbox360 version?
I can tell you, as someone who owns both, that it is certainly convenient. My 3 best friends want to play? Play Xbox, as their PCs are utter ****. I feel like playing alone? PC, for the, as you stated, superior content and mod-ability.
However, there is one difference between you and I. I bought PC Minecraft when it only cost $5.00, so it was stupid for me not to buy the Xbox version later, having spent almost nothing on the original. I can't tell you if the PC version is worth the full price, only that having both is certainly very nice.
You should probably see the other thread on this. Try to look for threads like yours before posting a new one.
On Topic: I don't mind paying for any cosmetic/mod content pushed out by 4j, as on PC, people are volunteering to make the content, and most often get recompense from ad.fly links. 4j are doing it because it is their job, and they should also receive recompense. The way they get that is through us paying for the content. I don't mind paying for it because it isn't necessary to play the game. Would it be nice? Sure. Is it free on PC? Yes. Is this the PC version? No. Sorry, but if we ever hope to get mods or texture packs, we need to stop complaining about them charging for the skin packs. Obviously, mods take a lot more work than skin packs, so they would naturally cost more.
Let's face it, we are going to be paying for extra content, just like with any other game.
I agree, they're getting $20 bucks a pop for the game itself, not to mention it's the biggest hit on the Xbox Indie Market of all time. I wouldn't mind paying, but you've seriously got to have some meat, not just dessert. Give us something to go with the skins, like texture packs or mods.
Try to check the post dates next time, this thread was pretty old.

im offended that you keep referring to COD players as kids..i mean really? cmon man, i know im just 17 so yes i am by law still considered a kid. What you should mean to say is the pre-teens still playing COD.
But also, even though i just dissed you on that subject im gonna agree with you on the other, in the sense that the whole clan system is a bit over-rated. Because, clans are meant for mmorpgs and online fps's. On minecraft, one can not simply go out into the woods and pvp rape a noob in the face and take his diamond sword his best friend made him, and since there's no currency in the game, there's nothing thats non user made that can be obtained. COINS for example. And there's no store to go spend that gold. No experience either so whats the point in killing. And besides if there was an online MMORPG version of minecraft with all these items ( currency ) everyone would be using a bow or burying tnt in the ground and camping. <-- probs on the pc.
Good day gentlemen, ima grab a dip and wait for a response.
Clans aren't only for killing, although that seems to be the general impression people have here. They are just a gathering of people that like to play a game together, as I explained before. They don't have to have clan wars, those are optional.
well basically the whole idea is different. building with a group of friends is different than making a clan. when a clan comes, thats when the competition and drama starts.
Only if it's a shitty clan. If you read up on the clan first, do your homework, join a good clan, you have no drama.
Why does everyone associate clans with FPSs? A clan is just an easy way to find a bunch of people that like to play the same game as you. (A bit simple of an explanation, but that's the idea.) Many of you say "Just play with a bunch of friends." I ask you, where do you get these friends? What if your real life friends have no interest whatsoever in Minecraft? Then what can you do? You can join a clan, as it allows you to play with a group of people that all want to play with you. Just do your homework on the clan first, or you end up trying to join a shitty clan.
You appear to be strip mining, which is the most efficient way to find Diamonds. For Iron and Gold, I would just suggest finding a surface cave nearby, and exploring deep into its sub-caves. Definitely a more efficient way of finding iron, gold is unfortunately just fairly hard to find for me. I have yet to find a mining technique that nets you a lot of it, be it strip, caving, quarry, or other.
Edit: If you are good at combat, you could go to the nether, and slaughter massive amounts of pigmen for gold nuggets, and craft them into ingots. This is typically my solution.
It is most likely, like someone else mentioned, because they are currently optimizing for multi-core processors. If you don't have a multi-core processor, you will see a drop in performance. If you do, you may see a gain, depending on your computers specs. I had no noticeable difference, but I typically run 90+ fps at max settings anyway.
Arguing about duping til we're blue in the face will never stop dupers. No matter what you say and how you say it or argue it, I will continue playing my game the way I want to. Cloning my glowstone for slime farms Unlimited diamonds to fight mobs and continually have armor while doing so. Having unlimited resources to build huge mob traps, castles, houses is my way of having fun. If you don't like my way of playing don't add me or join my worlds too easy. But nothing you say or do will stop me from playing my game my way. That's a reality all these anti-duping trolls have to live with. I have no idea why they wanna try to convince us otherwise maybe they have a self-righteous attitude on how they play it so we should play it that way. I could care less how YOU play YOUR game, but don't try to tell me how to play MY game because bottom line is I just don't give a f*ck about your opinion on duping. It's fun to me and I will continue building awesome stuff while you stare at cobblestone for hours holding that trigger down.
You couldn't just let it die, could you? You had to throw more wood on the fire. Oh well.
If you dont care to participate in duping discussions, you can opt out by NOT clicking on them. *snip*
No, see, that's the thing about this sub-forum. Threads that have nothing to do with duping will be turned into a large dupe argument sometimes that goes no where, because it never does. I agree with Mhyles. You dupe? Great! Shut the **** up about it! You play "legit"? Awesome! Shut the **** up about it! I don't care, and I don't know about the rest of you, but I am getting tired of seeing this argument plastered all over this sub-forum all of the time. (DISCLAIMER:The swearing was not aimed at anyone in particular, including you andr0id23, if anyone is offended, don't be, this is me expressing my general frustration over the stupidity and pointlessness of this argument.)
No kidding. Just the OS and power supply can run you around 200$. So NOW his pc has to be made with 400$. A good video card is gonna consume at least half of that. Anything less is NOT a gaming computer. So now he has 200$ to buy the case, the processor, the monitor, the mouse, the keyboard, any software, the fans, the inputs, the hard drive, any other drives, (dvd being a biggie), proper inputs and god knows what else.
In short, he is full of crap and the only way you can do what he thinks you can is by stealing the OS and harvesting components from other PC's people do not want.
I guess he may have done what I did. I started out just building a custom pc, then upgrading it over time to a full fledged gaming pc. It started out with just what I could afford, the essentials; Windows 7, a 50 dollar case, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, a really shitty GPU, a dual core 3.10 ghz processor, a 400 watt power supply, and a dvd drive. Then, over the course of a year, I've replaced the GPU with a 6870 Radeon 1 Gb, added 4gb of ram, and upgraded the power supply to a 540 watt. All I have left to do is replace the CPU. I now believe my computer can be classified as a gaming pc. I know how to build and slowly upgrade over time, though. If you don't, even a cheap gaming rig is going to cost you.
Why would you do that? The dispenser glitch still works just like it did before the patch. There is absolutely no need to take the patch off and dupe. If anything, that'll be the thing to corrupt your file.
I was simply stating a way that will work even if they patch every dupe glitch. For when they do, because they will, unless they continue to inadvertently make more.

Oh, I know, but I meant that anyone who wishes to do something on their world on the xbox360 seems to have to justify it. Not specifically him XD

I've noticed that you have to do that a lot on this sub-forum.

Shall the dupe v. non-dupe begin?
