posted a message on Firestone and Coldstone: Elemental Ores
Firestone: A gem imbued with firey power.Firestone clusters are found deep underground, in veins of 2-8. The clusters give off a little light and are surrounded with a fire particle.

    Firestone torch

    :|:
Firestone torches give off an intense orange light that stretches farther than a coal torch's. All combustable materials in a 5 block radius of the torch will be set alight.

    Firestone Block

Firestone blocks are a storage units like gold and iron blocks. When placed, they give off intense orange light and set any block within a 10 block radius alight. The block gives off a slight fire particle, and hurts all in contact with the block like fire does.

    Firestone Arrow

Firestone arrows impact with enough power to hurt almost as much as a normal arrow and also hurt with lasting fire damage. The gemstone arrowhead is not potent enough to set any blocks on fire, though.

Coldstone: A gem imbued with icy properties. Coldstone clusters are found deep underground, in veins of 2-8.

    Coldstone torch:

    :|:
Coldstone torches emit a ghostly blue light, and freeze all water and grass within 5 blocks of the torch. Snow also mysteriously appears around the torch in a radius of 5 blocks. The torches would be useful for creating ice bridges between islands.

    Coldstone Block

Coldstone blocks are storage units such as iron and gold blocks. When placed, they give off a slight snowy particle effect and freezes all water within 10 blocks of the block. Snow also appears within 10 blocks of the block, like the coldstone torch. Direct contact with coldstone blocks does nothing but give the enemy cold footsies and mild discomfort.

    Coldstone Arrow:

    :|:

Coldstone arrows hurt enemies almost as much as a normal arrow. When it hits an enemy, the enemy is slowed down dramatically, including block breaking speed and jump height.

    Weapons and Armor:

Firestone Sword: Damages as much as an iron sword, and with as much durability. Blows inflict lasting fire damage, too.

Firestone Armor: Protects as much as iron, and with as much durability. Cuts down on lava damage, and gives immunity to fire.

Coldstone Sword: Damages as much as an iron sword, and with as much durability. Blows inflict a slowing effect.

Coldstone Armor: Protects as much as iron, and with as much durability. Gives immunity to the slowing effect of ice weaponry.

posted a message on Blue Ore: Filling the gap between Iron and Diamond
A navy blue ore found at low depth in 3-6 sized veins, to fill the gap between iron and diamond.

This blue ore, would have about 400 uses to it, about twice as much as iron, if I recall correctly. For tradeoff, it's twice as rare. When smelted, the ore yields navy blue ingots that can be crafted into tools and armor. I feel that this may not void the usefulness of iron, as iron can still make tracks and carts and cheap, good tools and armor.

Maybe iron could become even more plentiful, too?

Community, what's yours? Design wise, behavior wise, explosiveness wise.

Mine's the chicken. He's so got-dang adorable! My least favorite's a Skeleton. The only good skeleton's a dead skeleton.

Also cows. Cows can burn in lava hell.

posted a message on "OH ****!" Moment
I was making a lava-water cobble generator. It was on a wooden wall.

I get something from a chest inside my house, and I hear a crackling of flames.

A few seconds later, my large wooden warehouse burned to a crisp.

I just think Iron should be more durable. Maybe that or it being able to be turned into steel somehow.

posted a message on Dye EVERYTHING.
Once (or if) dye is implemented, I'd like for it to be able to dye everything. Maybe overlay a transparent, colored texture over any block/cart/animal/creeper/blegh. Say, you just mix up the right ingredients for the dye and you could possibly make green carts, purple planks, orange cobblestone, a happy red creeper, a blue pig, or whateverdebobble!

About how dye/jars would be crafted? Don't ask me!
