Is there any way to fix compatibility with the Light Level Overlay Reloaded mod and Schematica? Certain things seem to not draw on screen when using this shader. It worked in version 5.3 but not any of the version 6's.

sadly i still don't know yet.
anyway, optifine is implementing something interesting which allows me to use a better transparency support. you might want to wait for v7 series.

edit : unfortunately i'm not changing the rendering method due to some limitations.

underneath the earth appears this error!

Is this fashion now? Any shader mod come with this problem?
no one tests it on the underground, in caves, etc?

probably because some chunks are not loaded. luckily i have a hacky fix.
go to shader options, shadows>enable shadow leak fix

posted a message on Extra Grass (Model Resourcepack)

*WARNING* : This post contains "storytelling". If you don't like absurd explanations, you can ignore the text, and first two screenshots.

This is Minecraft's grass. To be precise, tall grass. This "block" consists of two planes. Simple, yet beautiful isn't it?

By using bone meal on grass block, you can easily grow a patch of tall grass. Use more, grassfield.
But i feel like there's not enough, even when i use a lot of bone meal.

That's why i made this resource pack.

Extra Grass is a simple yet powerful resource pack. It contains no texture, only .json files. By using this resourcepack, tall grass will have four planes, instead of two. The model resembles crop models, and it's purely not intended.

Tall grasses are also randomly rotated. No more repetitive 45 degree tall grasses!
(Shaders used to show tall grasses from top easier)

Some tall grasses are squashed or stretched, giving more height variety.

It works well too with most resourcepacks. Left uses normal tall grass, right uses Extra Grass
Resourcepack used in these screenshots (from top to bottom) : Faithful x32, Conquest, Chroma Hills, and WoK Flows

For extra satisfaction, here's how grassfield looks like with Conquest, BSL Shaders (with personal modification for terrain displacement. it won't be available public), and Extra Grass!
Also, special thanks to MrCrayfish's Model Creator!

If you think four planed tall grass beats two planed tall grass, grab it now!

Is there a setting to make raindrops visible? It looks like I get all the fog and splash effects, but I don't actually see the rain.

might be your minecraft settings, make sure to turn on weather. might be the shader option too. check in world > weather

    Hey there.

Really love the shader. It is the very best one I've seen imo.

Only thing that is bugging me is I get those white lines where the sky ends ( when i turn it on and off it's really clear that the line form where the sky ends ) that form a sort of box of what I believe is the max draw distance.

I was wondering if there is any way to removed them? Like turn off a setting or something similar.

I'm using only your shader a ressource pack called riverwood so it might the ressources pack but it seems to be working fine with other shaders so idk. When I turn off custom sky ( which then use the default one I believe ) the problem also persist.

If you have any advice on how to solve this it would be really appreciated.

If not.. oh well, i'll just live with it since I can't get myself to play without either of those 2 now. =p

Just wanted to confirm that I have the same issue, but only in single player if get above a certain draw distance. On my server I have it set to 16, and the white lines don't appear.

yep i know this, most shader have it too and it's unfixable afaik

Hey, is there a version of this that works with Minecraft version 1.7.10? I really love how this pack looks but I can't seem to get it to work when I use that version. I'm just wondering because that's the version I use for modded stuff.

you can use any version of my shader, as long as you're using the latest version of optifine (D8), i recommend v6 series (6.0.0b for performance, 6.1 for more customization and compatibility).
if optifine screws other mod and you're using karyonix's shadersmod, you can use any below v6 series (i recommend v42 for performance, v53 for best quality).

I felt like I needed to say, I've been using your v5.3 shaders for a while now, and while I check out other shaders every once and a while, I always fall back on the BSL shaders because I can tweak them just EXACTLY like I want. Also, unlike some other shaders, you have actual descriptions on what the different options actually do and it's much appreciated.

    Thanks!

    you're welcome ;)

v6.0.1 will be released in few days. it will have more stuffs from v53, additional options, and more stuffs.
thanks for reminding me with descriptions too! i'll work with it when i can.

    BSL Shader v6.0 Patch 10/3/2017

change of plans, i swapped the development priority. more effects in v6.0, nether and end support in v6.1. here's what's new :

-DoF(normal and fog blur only. bokeh not included) and motion blur are back. you still can enable both at once.

-average exposure. looking at white wool (or other bright object) darkens the screen, looking at black wool(or other dark block / area) will brighten the screen. this effect is subtle and there's no smooth transition.

-updated water color. now, it's based on minecraft's lighting system. lit areas have semi transparent light blue, while darker area have almost solid looking dark blue. this feature is very helpful to differentiate water in certain conditions.
