And since bees pollinate flowers, your suggestion that more flowers can't grow near hives makes no sense, even in MC. It would make more sense for more flowers to grow near hives, as long as there was space for them.
You misread what I said, I meant that flowers ONLY have a chance to spread when within that range of a hive, anyway why are you so keen on showing me up? I honestly don't like your idea, I agree with the spawning requirements but other than that it's too complex, it'd fit better as a mod. As where my suggestion keeps everything fairly simple and preserves the Vanilla feel to the game.
My proposition for bees is that you can find bee hives (Small brown, boxes hanging from big trees) randomly through the forest, destroying these hives will drop Honey, and paper (Not so sure about paper). Though if trying to break a beehives you have a chance of taking a small amount of damage. Honey can be consumed for 1 unit of hunger, and can be used in certain recipes for other foods (Just opening more possibilities.) Honey can also be a replacement for slimeballs in the recipes for sticky pistons and leeds. If a bee hive is within 30 blocks of a flower, the flower has an extremely low chance of spreading (Much like mushrooms), though only a certain amount of flowers are allowed in one area (much like mushrooms). Bee hives should also have a very small chance of forming on naturally generated sideways logs (on big oak trees) so that there wouldn't be a limited amount of hives, like there are lily pads. Feel free to express your opinion on this addition. Thanks for your time.
Also note that I am aware of the other suggestions for bees and hives, I find that my description of an addition pertaining to bees/hives preserves the Vanilla feel to the game, which is also why I hesitate to add any features that give the player the ability to breed bees, and make hives. Mods do a great job covering bee breeding.

Ahh yes, the mythical 4th dimension. I actually think it does exist mathematically, though I won't go into my explanation because well, it might take up a whole reply page lmfao
I'm curious as to what your explanation is, do you mind telling?
Let me rephrase; I don't see an advantage to having cauldrons connect.
Just because there is no extra function to it doesn't mean it's useless, connecting stairs is entirely aesthetic, and connecting cauldrons would be too.
I think this idea is OK, but I don't think it would work out well.. I mean, I think it would create a ton of glitches and would also be a downside for people who create potions.. It would remove the whole aspect of trying to make you have to refill the cauldrons..
No support.
Remember that cauldrons take 7 iron each, and every cauldron added would only add another 3 units of water so it's not like you can just make a huge lake of water using cauldrons and have it last forever, I made this suggestion thinking of this as mostly an aesthetic implementation.
Much like how stairs connect as of a semi-recent patch, I think cauldrons should act similarly, connecting to create a larger cauldron/tub. Restrictions could be made to limit the size of the tub made by connected cauldrons too.
My idea is fairly simple, and consists of a set amount of sleep: 8 hours. This allows the player to awake from their slumber any time they want, but it comes at a cost, you can only change when you go to bed. This means if you want to wake up at mid-day, you need to go to sleep at about 4 in the morning. You can also sleep during the day to make it night (Maybe add some lighting requirements). This could also work for Multiplayer, considering how every player already has to be in a bed to sleep, they'd all get in a bed at the same time of day so it works out fine.
This idea obviously has a flaw though, unless you go to sleep a ways into night, you won't wake up at a time in which mobs can no longer spawn. So mob spawning would be a problem (Though for me it adds another level of difficulty to the game which I like). This can be resolved by adding more hours in which you can sleep, but that is all up to the opinion of the code-masters.
Feel free to add upon or change anything you feel needs it. Thanks for your time. (:
Do /spawnpoint To set a spawn for 1 particular player, use MCedit and follow the instruction to change the spawn. Like stated above you can change the radius.

Slimeballs can be a pain to get, especially if you have no deep caves around.

Good point.

I like this idea! Though I still think it should only be able to be place on trees, or some environment like that.

Every added cauldron adds another 3 units of water, easy.

This would take virtually no time to implement into the game, and they decided it was worth it to make stairs connect, so why not cauldrons?
