Is alienware really that bad, because I know this guy that owns one? YES IT IS -.- just because some average joe from the street says that you should buy something doesn't mean you shouldn't put in the effort and research into buying something that ultimately in this day and age effects your daily life.

@Unknown001 You sir just got owned. Props to Draconbane!

Our very first PC, man that sucker ran Roller Coaster Tycoon awesome. Hahaha, I remember my dad convincing my mom to get the one with 128MB RAM. It was a gateway, I believe.

Lol my Grandparents current PC is running Vista and is so cluttered with viruses. That thing is probably worse than my Toshiba lol. I tried fixing them but they don't have a working antivirus. I should probably look into it again when I go over there...

Advice was ignored, you took a laptop that was not suggested, nor did you even ask about it.

Also, no, the hp isn't "pretty good" chances are its worse than the gateway. Hp is a horrid brand. seriously.
Also if you have room to set down a laptop, you have room for a desktop. they can come in sized like that of a laptop (just thicker) and you can put a monitor on top. it is also alot cheaper, better, and wont die as fast.

Also, holy necro this thread is from December...

Ok I understand that yes, HP has some pretty bad products. I also understand what you are saying about me ignoring advice. After I made the thread my Dad(without telling me)went to Best Buy and called to tell me about the HP Laptop. Seeing as he had to buy one at that moment, and being pleased with the specs of it, I got it. Also, at the time I couldn't get a desktop at the time due to little space. I now have more space after clearing things out of my room last week. I will build a custom one when I get a job. It surprised even me that the Laptop has had no problems with anything HP. I did have to factory restore it but that was due to a Windows 8 update that crippled it. It now runs fine. This Laptop and my wireless keyboard are the only things good I've had from HP. My last Laptop was a Toshiba, and I will never ever buy a Toshiba again, much less buy from that horrid RadioShack...(Shudder)

*looks around* is you fo' shizzle?
By that, I mean. You ignored a ton of advice. HP laptops are known to overheat or just get very hot. You could have gone with something better that was posted here. Thanks for ignoring some advice... Meh, I might get hated since I didn't introduce any advice, and bumped an old thread by a little

Ok I understand what you mean, but after seeing that I had no space to put a Desktop, I decided to get that laptop. It does get hot, but not as nearly as bad as my old Laptop. I do plan on building a Desktop and getting a Desk once I get a job at a computer place at the end of the year.

posted a message on They absolute worst Computer you ever owned
So I know there are a lot of these posts out there, but I decided to make my own. As the topic suggests, What is the absolute worst, most terrible computer you have ever owned? Ever.

For me it would have to be my first Laptop I got In 2011. It was a Toshiba Satellite, I'm not sure of the model. It was 429 dollars, and RadioShack said it would run any game I wanted(At the time it was Fallout 3). So I got the laptop. Now at the time I had no clue about anything computers. All I knew is RadioShack said its "the best of the best". So before anything, I will tell you the specs I remember.

Processor was a i3 4 core at 2.30 GhZ. Not that bad. The RAM was 4 GB GDDR3. Pretty good. The hard drive had 500 GB of Space. It also had Windows 7. But the thing that killed it was its Graphics card. A Intel HD 3000. >_<

Now after installing a DLL for Fallout 3 to make it run, it could run that game on Medium. Not bad right? Minecraft on the other hand, SUCKED! On the lowest settings with Optifine I was getting about 30-80 FPS. Anything higher than Fast, Tiny, and Smooth Lighting off, caused it to go to 0-20 FPS. But that wasn't the bad part.

I had just gotten done with 8th Grade, ready to go to high school to take Computer Classes, when all of a sudden the LapTop began to crap out. You couldn't open the start menu without it freezing up. Now at this point I knew a bit about PCs, and after a month without it working I brought it to my friends Grandpa, who found out It had a whole freaking book of registry errors. It worked as before after we fixed it, the only thing was you had to have Window appearance settings all on low(Technically made it Windows Classic lol). I used it in my programming classes until Christmas 2012 when I got my new laptop, a nice HP.

Now I know I won't be purchasing anymore Toshiba's, as the experience wasn't very good. And I am certainly not ever ever EVER going back to RadioShack.

These are the specs of the Laptop I have now

    Model: HP Envy M6
    OS: Windows 8
HDD Space: 720 or so GB
    RAM: 6GB of GDDR3
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7660G Discrete Class
Processor: AMD A10-4600M APU at 2.30 GHZ that can boost up to 3.00 GHZ on some occasions.

I have only had one problem with this LapTop but that was due to a Windows Update that was faulty.
This laptop runs Minecraft maxed out with 60 FPS on Vsync and 69-150 FPS without and Optifine installed for Extra features and the multi-core Chunk loading option. It can also handle the games I have(BO2. Skyrim, etc) on high with shadows on low or medium.

I know it was a long post but hopefully it was good. I can't wait to hear about your worst Computer ever. I bet it can't beat mine lol. Also if you are wondering why I don't have a Desktop its because I currently don't have a desk and I needed a laptop for school. I do plan on building a Desktop sometime in the future when I get a job(I'm only 15 guys lol). And I'm also glad I knew what I was looking for in a LapTop when I got this one, as it was exactly at my price range(600 Dollars).
